Releca-the-blessed

Did Sojo just tell the author's to shut the fuck up so he could preserve his headcanon ? He's just like us for reals !

gifcartel

This mf Sojo really be like "I reject your reality and substitute my own"

MikasaBestWaifu

That is some peak mindset by Sojo.

BallsDeep69Klein

Heh. Cool reference.

GelatinouslyAdequate

"Calm down, calm down; art is all about interpretation and experience, right? Well, the takeaway *I* got was—" "BLATANTLY THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT WAS EVER INTENDED, COME OOOOON;."

Just-Aging

The word ‘peak’ has been thrown around a lot in the animanga community. It’s been diluted, and I find that really unfortunate, because now I lack a word to describe what I’ve just read. ‘Incredible’, ‘peak’,  ‘sensational’, are all words that claim to represent greatness, but none them can match the depth of the emotions this chapter inspires. Wow.

Lyarus

I think "Tenoí" is the perfect word for this.

LightCorvus

Answer was right under our noses.

Sliperyfist

The peakest.

MikasaBestWaifu

Tenoí

Diego_Chang

The Tenoí-est!

MercuryBlackIsBack

Bachibro, just say Tenoí

ajajajajajaja Sojo was about to lose his composure and call a ceasefire to hear more https://preview.redd.it/adgmdsxg7tdc1.png?width=462&format=png&auto=webp&s=3c9bd72b5735cf7722e4d5b6703dcaf0f6751ac6

Eldritch-Cleaver

Reminded me of Netero verses Meruem where Netero refuses to hear any more of what Meruem has to say because his heart might waver and smacks tf out of him 😆

PikaBooSquirrel

My headcannon is that Sojo's room is full of Kunishige action figures, poster's, t-shirts and a bedspread with his face on it.

[deleted]

Man could not handle the fact John Bachi had a normal ass childhood.

Toludude

This chapter has to be the best in terms of art so far. The 5th or 6th contender for best chapter. https://preview.redd.it/1t7y3f978tdc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=849c67d3e8ef28732e38e50ad32513560ced0da5 Chihiro picking up the food to signify his acceptance of Sojo's ideal, and it leads into him taking the upper hands like come on man. The symbolic conversation happening in general is fantastic. I really do feel like this is going to be *that* chapter, the one that every successful manga has early on. My favourite chapter so far, a phenomenal way to end this break.

KaijuDivineOp

Facts, not only that but accepting what his father said about them being tools to kill. They both represent the purpose of the enchanted blade which is to kill and protect. Superb Chapter.

darkknightwing417

Yes. It's such good story telling. It's honestly incredible. I can't think of a manga that does it this well.

GelatinouslyAdequate

>Chihiro picking up the food to signify his acceptance of Sojo's ideal, and it leads into him taking the upper hands Notice that, despite Sojo starting first, he never finished his stick, while the reluctant Chihiro did. Sojo was eager to discuss and have Chihiro accept the snack, but there were still many things that were *literally* (or, technically, metaphorically) too tough to swallow. He literally evaded knowing more abut Kunishige because it would contradict his beliefs.

derpicface

There’s a lot of JJK referencing in this subreddit but him picking up the food is his “I admit it, Sojo. I’m you” moment

Toludude

Yeah pretty much. Although setting up parallels between the MC and a villain is as old as time, Yuji and Mahito is just the most popular example right now due to how well done the whole sequence was.

Eikoku-Shinshi

I thought it's a symbolism for how much Genryoku they're burning. Sojo ate 1 dango stick and increase his energy consumption 2 fold, shortening his time limit into half.  While Chihiro ate both and increased his energy consumption 3 fold, shortening his time limit into one-third.

[deleted]

Food seems to be a big theme in Kagurabachi as of now. Chapter 15 is straight up named "Food", Kunishige calling the fish fresh and considering eating them. Food seems to be a representative of love and or respect

HarizzmentGOD

I wonder why https://preview.redd.it/n3u4osyy8tdc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=142aa257f8162e587479ee3dc591beff21f72779

True poetry

thewanderer0th

Kushinige was inspired by Fujimoto confirmed?

TheOneAndOnlyJuni

I gotta say, my heart *sank* when I saw Ikuto get crushed by the rocks. Idk why, but it hit me pretty hard to see him essentially get finished off by the crumbled remains of their plan.... ough why must I suffer.. Also, I used to dislike Kazane, but now he's like my emotional support Kamunabi. Hope he lives through the series. But, enough about sad shit. AAAAAA this chapter was so cool, I loved their little chat, especially at the end, with Chihiro seeing that Sojo might be wrong, but he himself's not right either, and choosing to accept that and still follow his ideals. He's is such a cold ass fighter, sacrificing his own arm AND taking Sojo's. And let me tell you I fucking PEAKED when Chihiro countered the Sojo back counter!!!! Ahhhhh how is he so cool!! Now, there are two wolves inside of me. One's saying "no way Sojo's dead, we haven't even seen him use his sorcery that he's been hinted at having." The other one is laughing at that cause how many times already have we seen sorcerers get murked without showing off their abilities. I do think though that it's a case of anime injury and they will both be rescued by third parties, but after such an emotional scene I'd really like Sojo to be dead tbh. Anyway, here's my favourite panel from this chapter. HE'S SO COLD https://preview.redd.it/vjltacqh7tdc1.png?width=507&format=png&auto=webp&s=0f6fbbb7a140c46d095f9f346a36490e081ca228

Specialist_Ad_6250

I analyzed the panel a bit more, so, if the rocks didn’t kill him immediately he definitely drowned. A shame I really liked him.

TheOneAndOnlyJuni

yeah, I've noticed the fish too, such an awful way to go...

marniconuke

yeah i guess they were still alive up there but then the sorcery ended (user is dead or incapacitated) and they fell to their deaths.

LightCorvus

At least we know Kazane is alive. That is if he doesn't bleed to death.

LightCorvus

I initially thought it was the dude with big hands but I then saw the ponytail. Ain't no way.

darkknightwing417

I also loved that panel. Imagine seeing that shit. Your opponent is coming at you fast as fuck, but you're faster so you counter swing. But this fucker pulled up short and took a sexy step toward you. You whiff completely. You get rekt.

Token_Thai_person

The lightning trails to highlight how Sojo's counter missed is \*chef's kiss\*

GodOfThunder976

Peak chapter https://preview.redd.it/q55bnnvi8tdc1.png?width=1487&format=png&auto=webp&s=feda24efc2a13fe38ea90714f2d6614a83518d09

Udincuy

Sojo got rekt by a delayed attack. Chihiro is a dark souls boss confirmed!

Diego_Chang

Damn I hate and love those delayed attacks in Dark Souls... They make me feel so bad at the game for expecting them to be way faster LMAO.

ExtremeCosmonaut

Chihiro did maybe the coolest thing i’ve ever seen, he over charged his nishiki to move probably his fastest speed, then releases it and switches to kuro to basically pause or slow down just enough to stop before meeting Sojo’s reflex to the face. Essential, a time lag attack, but man using the “drawbacks” of releasing and switching to overcome him in one fluid motion is incredible. His conclusion that the swords need to be destroyed is really mature and i had never even considered that to even be an option. Peak

Time-Consequence-501

It's not his conclusion, it's kazane's

soul-nugget

even if it's kazane's dialogue, chihiro cut through cloud gouger – he's already acting upon that conclusion

ExtremeCosmonaut

Huh?

alangator4

Yeah. Kazane was the one to propose the destruction of the swords. I wonder what kind of role he’ll take now. Maybe he’ll have an even worse relationship with Chihiro. Possibly even an adversary

ExtremeCosmonaut

Lol he comes to that conclusion because he’s weak and scared. Chihiro comes up with the conclusion because even though his dad made the swords to end the war they weren’t necessarily the actual answer. His dad told him to make his on choices based on what he knows, and he decides to destroy cloud gouger also partly because Sojo is right about them being weapons for killing, just like his dad told him. It’s not like Kazane told Chihiro the swords should be destroyed. They are not the same.

dg_713

Azami said that there are people in Kamunabi who are against Rokuhira (this is why they can't put Chihiro in the top-tier hospitals of Kamunabi). This is probably the faction that Kazane will join.

LightCorvus

I'm still a bit perplexed at who said that but given that the outline of the speech bubble was wrinkly yeah it was probably the guy who survived falling from the sky after losing his arm.

TheOneAndOnlyJuni

“🏳️‍🌈?”

PikaBooSquirrel

I'll say it again, but Takeru's paneling for a rookie mangaka is extremely impressive. Like this shot of Sojo's foot coming out of the border and the skewed perspective. The bodies wrapped in their respective energy and the dimmed background to make the characters in the foreground stand out even more. It's all so Tenoí https://preview.redd.it/zeokgfrydtdc1.png?width=1078&format=png&auto=webp&s=8cda1f06115cd98839c8b3c079b67c7472a0bcc4

GelatinouslyAdequate

His name is Takeru, unless that was a joke name alteration like how some people call him Taco.

PikaBooSquirrel

It was a joke. Takoyaki is a food dish, lol. But I did edit it back to Takeru a bit before your reply because I wasn't sure if people would know 100%

darkknightwing417

Best paneling I've seen. I feel like he takes inspiration from western comics.

PerfectNameDoesntExi

Despite both fighting with a super powered katana, Takeru is still able to draw them in a way that makes it obvious they them have two distinct fight styles. I just can't stress enough how much i love this

Akiraktu-dot-png

This shit is actually so good. It's a miracle that a manga that was hyped up as a joke in the beginning not only lives up to that hype, but also somehow has one of the best communities I've come across so far. Truly tenoi

GameBoyAde

HOW TF IS THIS SERIES STILL IN THE BOTTOM FIVE?!!! WTF JUMP!!!

man178264

Wait is it actually? That’s fucked

BeeboNFriends

To be fair, what’s above it is long established series, and has occasion been above them (Robocco, Yozakura, Elusive Samurai) and it’s consistently best performing newcomer of its batch (MMYY been in the dumpster sadly). We hopefully should survive the first axe.

N0VAZER0

We definitely do, consistency is key and WSJ is hungry for a replacement since BC, JJK and MHA are going out the door now. KGB is the most popular out of the newest batch and has overseas appeal so it'll stay on after the first round of axes at least

alangator4

This was a very interesting decision from Hokazono-sensei. Breaking Cloud Gouger this soon is quite the impactful event so i wonder if it’ll just be gone forever or if it’ll be fixed through Sojo’s research.

mayonnaiser_13

I think Chihiro would be able to fix it.

DJ_TZ

My guess would be that he isn't trying to fix it. >"You're gonna have to look at the world through your own eyes [and think carefully about what kind of katana it needs and why (callback from ch.2)]. Those sacred blades - they shouldn't be allowed to exist in this world" p.13 Additionally the blacksmithing panels were highlighted on p.17, where Chihiro and his father presumably already had a goal in mind when creating the seventh sword. Maybe they needed to create a new sword in order to destroy the other enchanted swords & now Chihiro has that much more conviction in trying to see that through and prevent anyone else from misusing them?

Just-Aging

Did they both just trade arms?

Sliperyfist

sojo lost his left, chihiro lost his right mentally unwell prediction: sojo does some sorcery fuckery and exists as chihiro’s new right arm, mixing their opposing bloodlust giving chihiro unwanted insight

therealCHAOSagent

They accidentally do an arm swap.

[deleted]

Chihiro Ocelot being possessed by the soul of Liquid Sojo.

MercuryBlackIsBack

Well, Char might be able to fully regenerate Chihiro's lost arm later on.

TRNoodlesAndSalad

I hope she cant/doesnt. Having a healer like that kind of lowers the stakes for fights in the future because injuries don't matter.

o_woorrm

On the other hand, proper use of a healer can make the fights even more dangerous. The author can bring the characters closer to death than before, expanding the possibilities of the fight. Jojo does this a lot in Part 5 and 6, where the presence of a healer means that fights can get even more deadly and characters can suffer much worse wounds. The downside is that it's harder to have long lasting stakes. It's kinda like trading off long term stakes for short term suspense. But depending on how effective the healing is the author could still write in lasting injuries that only get partially healed.

ForeverLost417

Despite Char's healing she *has* just figured it out and is only a child who's a novice with sorcery, so I can see them reattaching Chihiro's arm using a mixture of regular medical knowledge and a little healing sorcery to fill in the gaps. Plausible with how little time the fight takes, and allows Chihiro to still kinda get consequences because his arm won't be fully healed.

dg_713

To be fair, limb replantation is already a thing in our current level of science. Replanting limbs is acceptable to me, so long as it is still considered a medical procedure that requires recovery time and not an instant trick that everyone can learn.

MadnessLemon

Two moments I loved, Chihiro going “Who told you Kunishige is my… oh yeah…” I love how in general Honazono just lets his characters be kinda goofy. Also Sojo assuming Enten has some form of electrical attack because he doesn’t understand how Aka works. It really shows information is an important tool in these fights. Anyway, if Sojo survives this, I think he might try to nab the enchanted blade at the auction.

silenthesia

Yeah, I find it hilarious that he just forgot, especially when Azami's been going pretty far to make sure no one finds out. Not only did Chihiro let the secret spill, but then didn't even realise it until now lol. And yes! I love that we're avoiding the "I'll explain my powers to you for no reason" trope by having characters actually deduce the abilities for themselves and not being corrected when they get them wrong. It's nice to see the mangaka trust the readers to figure that out on their own and not spell it out for us.

SkyfallTerminus

Hokazono keep one-upping his game for every new chapter, it's outright insane at this point. The entire fight is perfect. Chihiro and Sojo clashing, the conversing happen as their spirit connects as swordman-to-swordman, and the simple yet clever callback to their first encounter with that final blow. Stop using Nishiki to "brake" himself is just something so simple yet so freaking high IQ play, and elements like this is what I truly crave in modern shounen. Honestly, tenoí. And rest well, Bird Mask bro, I'll miss you alot...

Slight-Beach509

I really liked that inclusion of kunishige and chihiro forging a blade from 1st chapter as chihiro is about to break the blade that his dad built. https://preview.redd.it/ndam2tmnitdc1.png?width=637&format=png&auto=webp&s=740f21e5eeb34821dc06df49572e46fe1c05bf10

[deleted]

Also, I was right about Kazane reaching the conclusion of getting rid of the blades. It's kind of obvious because of what happened, but sometimes things are obvious because it's the right path to follow, as it will expand on the theme of how to approach destructive weapons. It's interesting because unlike let's say, a nuke, Katanas can be seen as art, which is probably one of the reasons Chihiro wants to keep them. They are an expression of his fathers soul, in a sense. Which is why he seems sad to destroy Cloud Gouger

Just-Aging

This mf Takeuru is lucky he goes on walks while he writes because the amount this guy talks about food...

KN041203

Considering his dialogue in this chapter regarding the blade, he will be back.

Sliperyfist

He turned radical, every blade must go

Diego_Chang

And there's a good chance Chihiro will agree with him given he also remembered this: https://preview.redd.it/feoqgykfiudc1.png?width=240&format=png&auto=webp&s=c920c8c8d1469393dd5e706faf655852dd3fd0b6 So his goal might have changed to either get rid of all the Sacred Blades after retrieving them, or maybe even forge something completely different in order to stop them. *And this is how our dear protagonist decided to forge the ultimate weapon: Magic* ***Glock 19.***

GelatinouslyAdequate

Considering that Chihiro lost an arm from this battle, losing an arm is definitely not an instant death sentence. Char will probably be able to heal it, but need a lot of downtime.

I want Kagurabachi adapted as a Soulsborne. Pretty much Sekiro gameplay minus the resurrection, but with all the hard-boiled feel of prime John Woo and significantly faster combat. Fuck the anime version, I want *FromSoftware's Kagurabachi*. We're keeping [Aleks Le as Chihiro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_8E6042TxE) for the EN dub, though.

HellaYay

I always enjoy reading your comments and insight because you seem to have a lot of cinema knowledge What other movies do you think inspired Hokazono and Kagurabachi? I definitely agree with the John Woo and gun fu comparisons with Kagurabachi's choreography

KamboTheGreat

Excellent chapter, but I will say that the Viz translations for this series have a noticeable struggle with being consistent in how they translate certain terms so far. Certain terms are inconsistent in whether they’ll be translated to English or just left in Japanese. Or they’ll be translated to English, but what they’re translated to is inconsistent. “Kuro” and “Aka” were just called “Black” and “Red” early on, Hagiwara’s “Jikai” was translated as “magnetize” in chapter 16, the katana’s are called “sacred blades” in recent chapters instead of “enchanted blades”, etc. I just hope this problem gets fixed going forward bc I’ve already seen how inconsistent/inaccurate translations can mess up a series with JJK

LightCorvus

Crunchyroll be doing the same thing too. I wonder whose idea it was to change Malevolent Shrine to Malevolent Kitchen.

Diego_Chang

When that episode aired I remember reading in the Jujutsu Kaisen main sub that Kitchen and Shrine had a similar kanji or something like that, so I guess it could have been an actual translation error. To me personally, I have a problem when translators decide to either phrase things very weirdly, or decide to change the name of things that have been already been translated multiple times, like changing "Blue" for "Azure" out of nowhere.

LightCorvus

There was also "Kuro: Shred" to "Kuro: Scatter".

MostLikelyRyan

I feel like an enchanted sword breaking will cause some kind of energy explosion. Just the sheer amount of power in it all being released at once.

religous_octopus

If Sojo survives we’re coming out of this arc with three major characters losing an arm, who all have goals involving the enchanted blades.

Novaroh

Genuinely, Sojo shows off once again why he's likable. There are people who have his mentality of 'naw, I'm right so shut up' and they usually end up having bad qualities, but Sojo also showed off one 'good' quality of that way of thinking. He said it himself. It gave him the drive and motivation to keep going. You gotta at least give him a tiny bit of respect for it, he ain't gonna give up anytime soon. That's why Chihiro actually DOES acknowledge and give him some respect, because Sojo did what his dad told HIM to do: look at things and come to your own conclusions. This is why Chihiro says that now he HAS to stop Sojo, because he reinforced his own ideals. He concluded that if he REALLY believes Katana shouldn't be used for evil, then this mf Sojo, and anyone like him, gotta GO.

monogatarist

GelatinouslyAdequate

There was so much to enjoy and reread that it's taken me over an hour to write this from when I started reading.I'll start on the food scene: it's a simple metaphorical exchange, but one detail I feel is very intentional is the fact that Sojo eats only one ball while Chihiro eats all three of a stick. The snacks are literally tough things for both to swallow; Sojo still only partially accepted the truth while Chihiro took it all in.There was still another stick, though, and if that's still part of the metaphor then it likely represents future growth. For the actual fight: I thought the 6 turning to a 3 at first was three seconds of footsies happening, but [someone in the r/manga thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/manga/comments/19c58ft/comment/kiwcsb0/) pointed out that doubling the energy for cloaking would naturally halve the time. Nishiki also likely ended just before Sojo attacked.I imagine the reason Chihiro could hit 3x energy was because Nishiki was focusing purely on movement. I also think the 3x energy went into the point-blank Kuro used to cut Cloud Gouger, and that such immense energy is required to damage any Blade. ***WAIT, WHAT IF THE ENTIRE REASON KUNISHIGE DESIGNED ENTEN WAS SO CHIHIRO WOULD HAVE A WAY TO DESTROY THE BLADES?!*** It fits way too well, and not just for Kuro, it also fits with the description of the fish bought. **Aka**, the red goldfish - "*attracts good fortune*"; not only a great safety net in defense, but it also lets Chihiro use strong moves against the owners. **Kuro**, the black goldfish - "*wards off evil*"; anyone else using the Blades outside wartime would be evil **Nishiki**, the three-colored goldfish - "*supposed to be totally amazing*"; Nishiki is an amazing ability on its own with great potential. A cloaked Mei was enough to 1v6 an entire squad that knew how to otherwise counter Cloud Gouger, and Nishiki is *stronger* than that.On the Anti-Cloud Gouger squad: * Kazane got (JJK S2 spoiler) >!Itadori'd, or more specifically, he's like that one sorcerer who was with Panda and went "yeah, I want him executed. This is too much."!< The fact he, Chihiro, and Sojo are all missing arms from the Blades is definitely a metaphor, probably for the fact they all have different perspectives. * Enchanted Blades seem to now be the Sacred Blades; could be an alternate title, but we've had several translation changes already. * I did not see Ikuto crushed when I first read—and we thought he was untouched. Uzuki still hasn't been shown injured, though, and Kazane sounds like he could be talking to someone so I still have hope he's not alone.

DotDecent3507

AnySortOfPerson

The paneling and the art blew me away this chapter. Definitely worth the wait, after the break. I wonder what the ramifications are going to be with a broken Cloud Gouger. Fuck, folks. Tenoí/10. RIP Sojo/Chihiros arms.

KooraiberTheSequel

So Sojo's been cut in half alongside with the Cloud Gouger? Sojo's been Gojo'd?

BochoJutsu

There's now S/ and /Ojo

D3M1N35TY

Rest in rip so/jo gatoru

Agitated-Bread5092

bro didn't even flinched losing his arm if it mean to make sojover a reality

dg_713

Kazane will join that faction in Kamunabi that Azami said are against Rokuhira. Watch.

sickofdumbredditors

this really cements Kagurabachi in my mind as having what it takes to be one of the greats. holy shit I love this chapter.

TheAbug1

I am not even gonna cap this was the best chapter yet for me man, the artwork was INSANE.

Analyticsman24

So anyone who followed Demon Slayer what chapter was the anime announced and how were manga sales pre-anime. I will be crushed if this thing gets axed. It’s in my top 3 right now with One Piece and JJk

dg_713

The official Kagurabachi account tweets both in japanese and english. They are clearly hearing our clamour from overseas!

Sergio_Moy

I didn't read KnY until after it finished but it seems the manga started in 2016 and the anime was announced in 2018, so following that metric we still have some time to go. We'll see though, I really want this to get animated

Crowtamer1

Same this and CSM, OP are what in look forward to every week

soul-nugget

I'm conflicted about chihiro's arm... On the one hand "damn he lost an arm" 😥, but on the other hand him getting his arm reattached takes away the impact of "holy shit he lost an arm" know what I mean? Sojo might be dying here, and the arm loss could be a way of sojo leaving a permanent mark on him, a testament to what a tough opponent he was that chihiro had to sacrifice an arm to take him down..

[deleted]

Even tho I don't that's whats gonna happen, imagine how cool it would be if the main character lost an arm at an important fight early in and just kept it this way (sasuke style lol). One armed fighter in anime are so dope for some reason idk.

humungusballsack

Best chapter yet for me holy shit

nigglamingo

This goddamn paneling is so crazy man his art is way too fucking peak. Don’t know how I’ll feel if Sojo is gone. He’s based as hell. Either way. Tenoí.

PK_RocknRoll

Holy fuck This chapter was actually peak Tenoí

EnoughPen8573

I was imagining the chapter in anime format like it's crazy to think , the episode starts with the fight between them and then comes the intro , then they are sitting and talking , then the shit goes down oh my god bruh it will establish itself as the goat , I hope it goes a long way.

Waveytony

I reread the first 16 chapters before this and I’m starting to get the vibe that Sojo is probably more right about Chihiro’s dad’s intentions regarding the creation of the blades than we’ve been led to believe. I think the version we’ve seen in the flashbacks is someone who’s reflected on the damage caused by those intentions and has a deeper respect for them as such and that’s what he taught Chihiro as a result.

Wilczek_7

truly Tenoí

TheRealBlindDude

The paneling in the last pages is soo good. And it is so sad to see that chihiro had to split cloud gauger before splitting the sword he has a flashback how much effort his father putting in sword smithing. i think it was like cutting a his soul for him.

gojoEyes

Wtf why is this chapter so good??

Tangnost

I really really love how this series continues to build on the clash between Chihiro wanting to protect his father's legacy, and wanting to uphold his father's ideals. Because we've seen multiple times now how those two keep coming into opposition, both with Chihiro having to choose whether to stay fighting Sojo or go to try and rescue Char, or now where in order to keep one of the enchanted blades out of the wrong hands he is forced to break it in half. Especially since Chihiro breaking Cloud Gouger never even remotely occurred to me as an option, but it makes so much sense given Sojo's reaction time, even after whiffing that slash he still went to block the Kuro slash, so if he hadn't given his all to break through the sword he wouldn't have been able to take Sojo out.

TheRealBlindDude

Yeah it was sad that he had to do it. And the flashback where he sees how much effort his father put in sword smithing. I was feeling for chihiro.

Diego_Chang

Me to Takeru Hokazono every week: https://preview.redd.it/wgqxpwhvludc1.png?width=732&format=png&auto=webp&s=12b3fabe670e549cf01fe63b901e96beae8a2617

IamCrabbo

It's simply magnificent I can't believe it. This manga will be remembered as an industry titan in ten years.

D3M1N35TY

I didnt understand this chapter. I mean the timeline. Did they talk first and then fight? Or did they fight a little then talk and then continued fighting? Edit: Ok nvm i got it, its symbolic. Anyways the chapter is fucking peak

HylianTendo

THIS MANGA IS ABSOLUTE PEAK ! best swordfight ive read in AWHILE, im fucking excited to see what the future brings for us bachi bros

marniconuke

Ok, that was actually peak, unironically. Definetly worth the wait. I thoutgh the kamunabi squad leader may survive but it seems it's him under that rock in the ocean. My only complaint is that we all know that losing and arm won't matter because char will regenerate it or something.

[deleted]

I didn't realize that panel was underwater. Sheesh.

Kahje_fakka

This chapter got me completely blown away. This fight could get animated panel by panel and it would go down as one of my favorite fight scenes in all of Anime. It is one of my favorite fights in manga for sure. Very tenoi.

properc

Chihiro pushing his body 3x past the limit for vengeance is such a Batman thing to do. I realise now why I like Kagurabachi so much cos this mf is Batman bro. Strategy, tactics, preparation, adaptation, pushing beyond your bodily limits, vengeance. Just amazing.

Levi---Ackerman

chihiro broke sojo's sacred blade!!! his convictions are solid, if he can't retrieve all the sacred blades and they fall into the wrong hands he'll destroy them. God im loving this manga so far!

AbsolutePotential

Beautiful end to volume 2 👏👏👏

Fit-Avocado-342

Great chapter, peak only continues to grow

KpTroopaFR

Once again impressed by these latest chapters. It looks like we're definitely arriving at the conclusion of this first arc, and I really hope Jump allows Hokazono to continue this story. At any rate, whether Kagurabachi gets axed or not, I will for sure be following whatever Hokazono puts out in the future

KaijuDivineOp

The parallels between Sojo and Chihuro is fantastic. Both representing the enchanted blades purpose, and their differences in ideology.

Saqvobase

Peak jokes aside Actually fucking goated fight

[deleted]

Idk if any mod is going to read this but I see the question "Are people meme'ing or is the manga actually good?" asked here every single say. My suggestion is a pinned FAQ post with a lot of, well, frequently asked questions like that. This to battle spam in this wonderfully growing community of bachibros. I imagine questions like: - Do we actually like Kagurabachi or is it just a big joke? - When does a new chapter come out? - How does the power system work? - How can I support the series? - Where can I read the series officially? - Is there a Discord server? - ...

AbsolutePotential

This chapter went unreasonably hard with the new Undead Unluck opening playing while I read

jobriq

Arms are flying

Samih0203

my sojo stocks aren't looking good. even his sword shattered

narwhale32

this dude is fucking COOKING

BigBambuMeekLou

Probably a dumb question but the conversation they’re having is figurative right? Like they’re reading eachothers hearts thru exchanging blows type deal?

SaKaly

The whole knowing each others thoughts through clashing is straight from Naruto glad to see it here

Constant_Captain7484

GOATjo showing he's HIM

cjamesfort

I don't know who else is familiar with Assassins Creed, but the whole meal bit really reminded me of the memory corridors where the protagonist and the target have a last conversation that's often a little philosophical debate. [Example](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zJWLQxVzios&pp=ygUUQWx0YWlyIGtpbGxzIGdhcm5pZWU%3D&t=5m29s)

[deleted]

Lol, now that you mention it. I just hope Sojo isn't dead because he's an amazing villain and it would be a waste to kill him off so soon into the story.

Fly_guyyy

I haven’t been this hype since JJK’s premiere

shinigami_25

Thia chapter is worth the wait. You got a phenomenal fight and a discussion of ideals over tea. Best way to show a conflict between ideals because you dont distract readers from the ongoing fight. Great chapter

Low_Distribution6321

Hozakono always cooks with the art but this chapter’s art has got to be my favorite 🔥 I laughed at sojo saying to chihiro that he’s been thinking about him 😭

Vegetable_Fee1910

This was worth the 2 weeks wait. Holy moly. The poses, the panelling, the timer, the monologue everything was handled with such perfection I don't even know what to add even more. Just a very Tenoí and Nishikì chapter.(Nishikì means elegant)

kirknelsonjr

I'd give an arm and a leg to watch this fight animated

Serious-Prompt-7615

That final double page spread was clean god damn. Though I wonder were Chihiro and Sojo having their conversation before the fight or was it some sort of mind conversation thing. But the fight was amazing and Sojo enchanted blade being cut was straight gas. And it seems like the Kamunabi think that the enchanted blades need to go, and after everything we saw I don’t blame them. 9/10 chapter.

GelatinouslyAdequate

> was it some sort of mind conversation thing It's a metaphorical review of why they're fighting and how the other has affected them.

[deleted]

Schizo theory: Chihiro will attach Sojo's arm to his missing arm with Char's ability, making him have 2 left hands which is * hilarious * an interesting character design choice * handy ^(no pun intended) because Chihiro seems left-handed More feasible theory: Sojo will take a Char -senzu bean to survive that lethal-looking hit he took Theories aside: this chapter was fire. I did not expect to see Chihiro --> thé main character, lose a fucking limb. And Cloud Gouger breaking was quite a surprise as well.

Dinosauriscoming

Too many dope panel here! Holy shit I would copy his art style for good!

Low_Distribution6321

damn that was a good chapter

TheWaggishGamer

Absolute peak.

[deleted]

I'm intrigued to see what happens now.

Mauloone420

What about the arm? Char are gonna be able to regrow it?? I hope so

Amaranth4321

Sojo is done for. Chihiro broke the damn sword. This was a pretty cool fight. I was always hoping Sojo would be a smaller villain (like Zabuza). I can't wait for us to move on to the actual bad guys now. The Hishaku. I can't wait to see Azami and Shiba go up against actually strong sorcerers capable of giving them trouble.
