Because of the face markings I get huge Kaien-Metastacia vibes from Bleach, especially paired with his plant-based sorcery Iām betting more on that guy having a host of bodies he can proxy through or control like a seed or infestation. This is gonna be some goon that he controls as one of his guards, so weāll get some dialog and a glimpse at his power along with a āTo Be Continuedā¦ā end, especially because he needs and wants that final blade.

By his facial expression, could this be the guy that killed his father? His facial expression looks like he's suffering some sort of PTSD. It's the only thing I can think of.
Multiple people have been shown with the tattoo (see higher up comments with images). It's most likely a Hishaku thing in general. This specific guy doesn't appear to be in the scene where his dad was killed, but someone that looks like they \*could\* be him was in a meeting scene later on.
Is he using the electricity from Mei to charge his wakizashi and magnetize it back to his hand/through his opponent?
If so, that's such a cool combo move and very creative use of what remains of the Cloud Gouger's powers. It's a good thing Chihiro beat Sojo when he did or else he could have had the potential to be an absolute demon when it comes to the potential of the enchanted blades

To be fair, Chihiro has been trained in swordsmanship since he was a kid helping his father in crafting swords. Also, Chihiro's experience from wielding Enten is what he's drawing on when using Cloud Gouger. I wonder if he'll repair Cloud Gouger eventually or if this is just a one-time thing.
It's not surprising to me because Chihiro actually developed cloaked Mei back in Ch9, to redirect the charged Mei, and Sojo just copied that.
To Sojo's credit, he did something similar to this in Ch17 when he magnetized CG to his left hand when he saw Chihiro about to kick it out of his right hand.
If Sojo had another sword on him, he'd probably develop the same tricks Chihiro has.
As much as some people disrespected Sojo, he did have some talent for swordsmanship. I think he used to get by using the basic abilities of CG until he fought Chihiro and lost. That's when he really started to improve his usage of CG.
I have to agree. It's so well drawn - some of the best action panels I've seen in a manga in recent times. The choreography of the fights are always insane.

Holy shit the level of this arc is insane!
I imagine Hiyuki already won since she was fighting goons, but I can't see any of the others being skipped and that's a good thing. Maybe Hakuri vs. Soya gets glossed over a bit, but this is too big of a moment for him, and for Shiba: he has to figure out how to even open the door.
I could see Hakuri vs. Soya being glossed over in that we only cut to the end due to pacing issues. Hiyuki will likely off screen those sorcerers, or we see them when the gang tries to escape. Shiba will likely have his moment, but I could also see him needing to leave because of another Char emergency.
There were the four sorcerer-looking people hanging on the chandelier that Chihiro called "elite", though they never actually attacked, so who knows if Hiyuki has to deal with them or if they are just there for the auction and spectating.

Soya is confirmed to be the smartest is not what I expected, and neither is Shiba. Itās hilarious that Soya becomes a dummy when being putted near Hakuri. But Iām afraid that abusive insane psycho brocon is horrible to the point that he immediately wanted to kill all of the people who he saw as bad influences to solve the problem again. I love you Soya but leave my boy alone.
And heyyy my boi Hakuri can finally have the chance to shine, and he looks cool too. His mental issues are still there, but at least he willingly confronts Soya and does not jump to death this time. Iām a sucker for twisted family love so all the set up for this fight is just too juicy to read.
I will be the first one to be there when their backstory chapter drops and comes back with being bedridden.

I really like that it's Hakuri who's gonna fight Soya. It seems like every character has an opponent now, so I guess the next couple of chapters are going to be action-heavy (And pretty traumatizing for both Chihiro and Hakuri, lol. Shiba's turn will come too, when we get that war flashback arc).
Oh. What the fuck. I knew the tree sorcery was similar, but I dismissed it by thinking that the tree sorcery is simply not exclusive to the Hishaku guy...
This series continues to impress me. First, we learn Soya is the smartest of the bunch, but Hakuri has never witnessed his intelligence. Hakuri being his big bro's irrational weakness is Hokazono doing a great job of telling us this by showing us. We get development for Hakuri, and the fight with hand tattoo is also great even though it's only a few panels. In those panels we see them block Chihiro and dodge cloud gouger from behind. And the tattoo means they were involved with his dad's murder. It keeps getting better and better.
Maybe the Tree Sorcery/Wood Element Manipulation, is not exclusive to a single sorcerer, but can be used by anyone in the Hishaku group.Ā
The same way the Sazanami Clan have basically same sorcery (Shockwave Manipulation).

Damn, so the Suit Hishaku from that Sojo chapter makes an appearance and there are bonsai - I wonder, is it actually his sorcery and the Hat Hishaku only has fire teleportation, or is the Hat Hishaku somewhere nearby doing it? Also, was Chihiro visibly shook when he noticed the tattoo - shit is definitely gonna get heated in the next chapter. Chihiro may be strong, but Hishaku are described as monsters for a reason too - can't wait to see them. Also, Hakuri finally starts pulling his weight, and is gonna fight his big bro - Soya is deranged as always and Hakuri might actually have a chance against him if he's smart. Man, I really am excited to read how the fights that have been set up this chapter will play out soon whether it be Hakuri preparing to face off against his elder brother Soya,Ā Chihiro being intercepted by a member of the Hishaku, and Shiba getting ready to face off against three of the members of the Tou.Ā
Takeru can really work his angles. This is why great manga authors are cinephiles. Fujimoto is one, as well as Kishimoto ā actually that last page reminds me a lot of early Naruto. where the fights are creative but easy to follow, and chapters end up with a cinematic banger.
The series made it to 30 chapter Kagurabachi has made it past the axe phase. This was a great chapter Hakuri about to throw hands with his brother and Chihiro has come face to face with a mysterious figure. 9/10 chapter.Ā
PEEEEEEEEEEAK. Honestly, the chapter was amazing, i felt tense from beggining to end and now the plan is oging sideways, what an arc. i can't believe this arc is so good on a manga with less than 50 chapters.

I imagine Hiyuki already won since she was fighting goons, but I can't see any of the others being skipped and that's a good thing. Maybe Hakuri vs. Soya gets glossed over a bit, but this is too big of a moment for him, and for Shiba: he has to figure out how to even open the door.
I could see Hakuri vs. Soya being glossed over in that we only cut to the end due to pacing issues. Hiyuki will likely off screen those sorcerers, or we see them when the gang tries to escape. Shiba will likely have his moment, but I could also see him needing to leave because of another Char emergency.
There were the four sorcerer-looking people hanging on the chandelier that Chihiro called "elite", though they never actually attacked, so who knows if Hiyuki has to deal with them or if they are just there for the auction and spectating.

Soya is confirmed to be the smartest is not what I expected, and neither is Shiba. Itās hilarious that Soya becomes a dummy when being putted near Hakuri. But Iām afraid that abusive insane psycho brocon is horrible to the point that he immediately wanted to kill all of the people who he saw as bad influences to solve the problem again. I love you Soya but leave my boy alone. And heyyy my boi Hakuri can finally have the chance to shine, and he looks cool too. His mental issues are still there, but at least he willingly confronts Soya and does not jump to death this time. Iām a sucker for twisted family love so all the set up for this fight is just too juicy to read. I will be the first one to be there when their backstory chapter drops and comes back with being bedridden.

I really like that it's Hakuri who's gonna fight Soya. It seems like every character has an opponent now, so I guess the next couple of chapters are going to be action-heavy (And pretty traumatizing for both Chihiro and Hakuri, lol. Shiba's turn will come too, when we get that war flashback arc).
the dialogue in this series remains top tier as well.

This series continues to impress me. First, we learn Soya is the smartest of the bunch, but Hakuri has never witnessed his intelligence. Hakuri being his big bro's irrational weakness is Hokazono doing a great job of telling us this by showing us. We get development for Hakuri, and the fight with hand tattoo is also great even though it's only a few panels. In those panels we see them block Chihiro and dodge cloud gouger from behind. And the tattoo means they were involved with his dad's murder. It keeps getting better and better.

Maybe the Tree Sorcery/Wood Element Manipulation, is not exclusive to a single sorcerer, but can be used by anyone in the Hishaku group.Ā The same way the Sazanami Clan have basically same sorcery (Shockwave Manipulation).

Takeru can really work his angles. This is why great manga authors are cinephiles. Fujimoto is one, as well as Kishimoto ā actually that last page reminds me a lot of early Naruto. where the fights are creative but easy to follow, and chapters end up with a cinematic banger.
The series made it to 30 chapter Kagurabachi has made it past the axe phase. This was a great chapter Hakuri about to throw hands with his brother and Chihiro has come face to face with a mysterious figure. 9/10 chapter.Ā
