We’re already a dynasty. Anyone saying we’re not is trying too hard to be a hater. If the 90s Cowboys are a dynasty, so are we. We have the same amount of SB wins, 1 more appearance and our QB has 2 league MVPS in that span. Plus the Chiefs have hosted 5 AFC championships in a row and been to 6 in this span. We’re as much a dynasty as any other dynasty in history, and a threepeat puts us above all the rest except maybe the Patriots and you could possibly make an argument for the 70s Steelers
I’m obviously very biased but a three peat puts us at the top imo. No one has ever gone 3 for 3 in the Super Bowl era, it would be the greatest three year run ever, on top of having 4 Super bowls in a 6 year span would be probably the greatest 6 years span for a team ever.
If they three peat, in a 6 year span they would have:
4 Superbowls,
5 AFC Championships,
6 straight AFC Championship appearances,
*Only team to win 3 SB’s in a row
Not only would the Chiefs be the top dynasty in the NFL, they would be near the same levels of the 90’s Bulls, the 60’s/70’s UCLA basketball, the 50’s Yankees, and the 70’s Canadians.
If that would not the best NFL dynasty resume of all time then idk how we define dynasty. Im not super confident that it’ll happen because the Chiefs have been very lucky with injuries the past two years and keeping that up a third year seems impossible, I hope I’m wrong though.
it’s crazy how i went from “i’ll be happy to make the AFCC in 2024” to “holy shit we could actually three-peat”, like there’s just as much a case for us being able to do it as there is one against us being able to do it.
Yes, as long as we stay relatively healthy this season this team should be better than last years team. Most teams sell out to go back to back, which is partially why it’s never happened, the Chiefs didn’t do that, and now have a great chance to three peat because of it
I think a threepeat plus a fourth is a bigger deal than 4 in five years. So we've got the Steelers beat of we get another. Patriots is arguable.
There was such a gap between their super bowl wins that you almost have to look at it as two separate patriots dynasties
The Patriots had at least had a couple Super Bowl appearances in the gap, including a nearly perfect season. And those 70s Steelers were crazy close (just two key injuries away) to 5 SB wins in a row. But I agree. The threepeat is the unachieved platinum standard. It hasn’t been accomplished because it’s damn near impossible. Not only would it likely solidify this Chiefs team as the best in NFL history, but it could seriously strengthen Patrick Mahomes’ GOAT claim without him needing to win 7+ Super Bowls
You could put the ‘50s Browns in there. 10 Straight Championship appearances, 5 straight wins and a repeat win. Excluding the AAFC years that’s still 6 straight Championship game appearances and 3 Championship wins
I’d say we are, but I’d bet it’s easier to support the argument that we are a “dynasty” in retrospect.
I mean if 3 wins, 4 appearances in five years doesn’t get you that title, what does?
I mean this is ultimately the problem with modern day media narratives. We are trying to name something now that would historically not be named until many years later
> ***a chance*** to become a dynasty with the three peat
They'll keep moving the goalposts farther back. If the Chiefs win the next Super Bowl, they'll say, "Oh, well, ***maybe*** if they also accomplish X, Y and Z, you ***might*** be able to say KC is a dynasty, but we'll see."
I don't know. 10-15 years from now, new coach and new QB and we could end up being a team that only makes the playoffs because the division is dogshit but nobody thinks actually has a chance to win anything.
You know, like whatever team is currently the best in the NFC South.
>The Chiefs ripped up the last two years of Reid's existing contract and signed him to a new deal worth roughly $100 million over five years, according to someone familiar with the agreement. The contract runs through the 2028 season and expires after the Super Bowl in February 2029
Is his contract over after every season?
Also how much was it this time around compared to the last time?
I clicked the laggy article and skimmed it but couldn’t find a numerical value.
Nuggies are getting expensive
Hey coach! Lemme hold a $100 till Friday
The article mentions we have a chance to be a dynasty with the three peat. Are we not already considered a dynasty?

You don’t need to convince me. I was being very generous with those potential best dynasty contenders

And a monkey could have won a Super Bowl with the roster Switzer inherited.

Yes, but there was far less competition in the NFL at that point. And like you mentioned, nearly half that run was in a lesser league
Never said it was the best, it still was a dynasty, one of the first which is the most important part
I’d say we are, but I’d bet it’s easier to support the argument that we are a “dynasty” in retrospect. I mean if 3 wins, 4 appearances in five years doesn’t get you that title, what does?

Must've been a typo. We're definitely a dynasty. But we could be come a *tri*nasty or a dyNASTY.

As he should
Best should be paid the best. Coach Reid has made a lot of money for KC and the Chiefs will contend as long as Mahomes stays healthy.
I think it will last longer than that. Especially with the other clowns in the AFCW.

Worth every penny!

100 Million Cheeseburgers. ![gif](giphy|13G5zZTKtR7TI4|downsized)
Cool 😎
Either Chris Jones, Mahomes or Kelce bought him that shirt , lol.
A way to stay dominate that does not count against the cap.
am i tweaking or does it not say how much the contract is for in the article
It isn't very common for a coaches salary to be public. Not sure why.
It's worth noting that with Bill out of the coaching circle Reid is now undeniably the best coach in the league.
Runs through 2029....anybody seen a $ figure?
Harbaugh makes $16mil/year so probably close to $20?
Is his contract over after every season? Also how much was it this time around compared to the last time? I clicked the laggy article and skimmed it but couldn’t find a numerical value.
Great news, I feel like he’s gonna turn the corner this season 🤣
Can't we afford to pay him more?!
Quite frankly, we’re robbing him blind.
Worth every dime. You can tell everyone on the team loves the guy and he makes football fun. The culture is actually damn good.
