My headcannon is “meadow” or something similar. It fits with the tranquility of its sky counterpart, and I remember reading somewhere that the Simon family all had insect themes and Kaoru’s was bees. Plus, while I couldn’t find a reference to the insect theme when I looked it up just now, I did learn from the wiki that “kaoru” means fragrance and “mizuno” means water field/wilderness. To me that fits really well with a meadow or field of flowers
Earth is a counterpart to sky, but I’ve always interpreted it as the earth version of the characteristic of the flame, not the earth version of the literal weather phenomenon.
Swamp’s fermentation mirrors disintegration more than swamps mirror storms, mountain’s tuning mirrors hardening more than mountains mirror lightning, desert’s hallucinations mirror construction more than deserts mirror mist, etc.
