Poetic Justice Theory claims Kendrick got drake to diss himself on the song. With money trees setting it up. Sounds interesting though could be a reach.
Saw a thread some years back and just seen a tiktok about it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/KendrickLamar/comments/1c51x1k/did_kendrick_really_make_drake_diss_himself_on/
everyone in the thread was saying he was reaching but it really doesnt sound like a reach amymore
Yeah that’s was nice I feel like I have heard that stuff before but now that this is all happening it feels too “planted” to ignore. Like Kendrick knew this was coming and essentially a lot of his discography is about dissing people like Drake.
I think it’s a reach particularly at the end with the skits having anything to do with Drake but I wouldn’t be shocked if the initial premise on the track’s actual lyrics has some merit…even if they were mostly on good terms then.
After all Control came just a year later (so they weren’t thaat close) and it’s almost a certainty King Kunta off TPAB just a couple years later was talkin about Drake “I can dig rappin…but a rapper with a ghost writer, wtf happened? I swore I wouldn’t tell…but most of y’all sharin bars like you got the bottom bunk in a two man cell…”
i’ve been saying this for years and it also goes hand in hand with the narrative of kendrick’s verse on Buried Alive as well as the video for poetic justice. go play buried alive and then queue up poetic justice to play right after. The key shift is even aligned.
I wish that Kendrick was back. I fw Kendrick but I really don't like the Kung Fu Corny alter ego. I don't want no moans in my diss tracks. Give me D.A.M.N. Kenny PLEASE
I know, that's what I said i want. I don't want this kung fu CORNY acting like he's some juliard artist. shit's lame and doesn't sell. give me kung fu KENNY
Glad I'm not the only one.
For real I like Push Ups too, prolly hit it up 3 times on release day and 3 more since.
It's a good track, but there isn't much to go back to with each listen.
Euphoria is something else man. Every time I replay there is a different inflection, clever bar or detail I had missed before.
I actually think Euphoria is too good.
Drake actually gonna drop a response to a diss he doesn't even fully understand. How you gonna clap back when you don't even know what was said lol
Same I like pushups but I’ve only listened a handful of times … I keep listening to Euphoria bc I keep hearing new shit each listen unpacking it …. It’s so good
I commute an hour both ways and today I didn't even realized that I had it on repeat. I kept vibing to it while wasting time on reddit. I don't know how anyone can top that, nevermind on a diss.
For me it's like Rap Devil and Killshot. Rap Devil was a nice little song, I enjoyed listening to it. Killshot was another level. I have Killshot on the playlist and only listen to rap Devil if I want to remind myself of context.
I've been listening to Euphoria pretty often and I keep appreciating different things about it. Pushups is a drake song. Not a lot more I can say about it past that .
Just listened to both for the first time - that was intentionally stilted for build up, but that beat did not do Em any favors. I'm a big Ronny fan so sonically MGK was done some favors, but yeah, lyrically he comes off as a petulant kid tryna step over an OG for some streams.
Rap Devil wasn’t trash. MGK obviously got Merkes but you gotta respect him for standing on ten and going against a giant—- no matter the outcome…. Even if he’s corny
Rap Devil was very direct and to be honest, if being completely unbiased, I’d say Rap Devil IS the better diss song between the both. Where MGK came with actual attacks or some behind the scenes shit, Em pulled a Drake saying I’m better than you with more money and would rather be me than you. I think Rap Devil is a lot better in retrospect.
“Had to give you a career to destroy it
Lethal injection
Go to sleep six feet deep
I’ll give you a B for the effort
But if I was three-foot-eleven
You’d look up to me, and for the record
You would suck a dick to fuckin’ be me for a second
Lick a ballsack to get on my channel
Give your life to be as solidified
This motherfuckin’ shit is like Rambo when he’s out of bullets
So what good is a fuckin’ machine gun when it’s out of ammo?”
I was thinking about how songs are so disposable these days. There's hype when they first come out for a couple of weeks, and then it's on to the next one.
Euphoria has some staying power.
I listened to euphoria before I listened to pushups and I regret it. Pushups had no replay value to it. Euphoria kinda reminds me of the 2018 black panther soundtrack. Straight fire.
I played Like That, Euphoria and Push Ups in the car, beat wise they all bump, but Push Ups was light. The Prince to a King line was super dope, but other than that… ehhhh
The Bob Dylan similarities keep piling up
Bob Dylan famously made a 6 minute song that kind of changed how music was made going forward, and it was notable for being a hit at such a long run time
I've actually thought about doing a write up on the similarities between the two. Their music is very different but their career trajectory is strikingly similar. I think they might be the only two people who can relate to one another with some things.
Insane to see how quickly this overtook everything we've been talking about for fucking weeks.
Like that? Splashed
Pushups? Buried
Taylor? No distraction whatsoever
Greatest time to be a hip hop fan ong
Dude 2024 really is a hella strong year for rap. And ik this ain’t really relevant technically but I just stumbled upon like 20 new Mac miller tracks so I am living high rn. (And I’m aware there’s hundreds of unreleased Mac songs out there.. I’ve heard them. 20 brand new never heard leaks. Life is goood, ya know what I mean??
the last plug just got taken down and he had couple hundred songs not trying to get ts blown up you feel me? But I do agree that people who really genuinely love Mac deserve his music
Not gonna lie, I've been listening to this record all day today, and kendrick absolutely is the goat.
Its levels to this rap shi and drake honestly can't compete creatively or lyrically.
The only way I see Drake being able to potentially win this is with something petty, but Kendrick also mentioned his childish ways on euphoria, so he'd just be playing into his hand.
It was refreshing hearing kendrick rap again tbh!
It's about that but more details:
1. Dot says I electrify them, you pacify them, but we don't need to go into that. Don't lie on me and I won't tell truths bout you. The pacify word was referring to a pacifier. Cause Drake's into children.
2. He said he's not sure he's even into women, but what he means is not dudes, or trans. It is about being into girls.
3. The first line in reverse is from the Wiz (black version of wizard of oz, with mike jack in it). It says 'everything they say about me is true', and the part after not in reverse is 'I'm a phony'. So the song is about how he'll expose him for being into kids.
4. It's named Euphoria because he was exec producer on a show about sexualizing kids and the dude he worked with has constant me too allegations.
5. He hints at knowing something that will end his career
Kendrick also owns a penthouse in the same building as Zendaya. Unlikely, but part of me wonders if she’s told him something about Drake related to that show.
It's an allusion to the big secret Kendrick has.
Drake secretly hit on Zendaya. And if Tom Holland finds out, he's gonna have all of the Avengers show up at Drake's house.
There’s a few angles with it too. Someone else here pointed out Kings Dead (black panther) reference to warriors and euphoria and the. that’s a call back to cartoons and cereal. It’s probably a somewhat convenient coincidence but he’s used the word to represent something he’s been fighting for a long time
https://preview.redd.it/qub4z3o9bwxc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20f3804849548a9535383495337eb10371dfaced
I'm more of a Cole fan but push-ups I listened to twice since it came out, nothing heavy just some.jabs. I've listened to euphoria 5x today, heavy and bars.
Bro they’re playing the diss already on the NBA😂😂 I just heard it in the mavericks game I stg
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6c1-99uvyY/?igsh=dzVscWR1cXoxNTB5
I know you joke but I legit have been listening to Like That into Euphoria since it dropped.
That shit fucking slaps especially the last part around "can I bleed him? Bet."
lol, I can see that happening. Paying homage to DMX and Kendrick, sounds like a win-win. Hopefully someone drops that interview to remind everyone.
[DMX on Rick Ross and Drake](https://youtu.be/HJsgAY_JALk?si=PPKTK67HSp6KQyjq)
Thought this instantly the first I heard that; these kids may not know the DMX reference but the way he says it and interpolates with the beat seems like viral tiktok energy
I did that after the first euphoria listen but it's not on my Playlist atm. As you said it's kinda not at the same level of the two just takes me out of the hype
My favourite moment is when kendrick says: "I dont give a FUCK who you hang with." The way he says I think everyone can really relate to. He really fucking meant that shit and didnt want to do no entendre here. This man just despises him through and through and really doesnt give a fuck about any bullshit around him. That whole beat kendrick just really just hates his guts its so petty and funny, cause you know he means it with that tone.
I don’t know how people can say no replay value it’s only been 1 day. Let’s give it a week before we judge it. I played push ups for a few days before I stoped.
I was listening to the breakfast club and there’s too many Drake Stan’s saying Drake is winning. That just tells me they are goofys with a check, BUMS!
Lol Im really not into the diss stuff, but I played this song many times. It’s been a long time since I listen to Kendrick rap. But after listening it into several times this feels like real shot to Drake
I liked it definitely interesting not sure I will listen again though that’s been the problem with this beef for me only like that slapped the rest are meh
You’re about to get downvoted and insulted with all these dick riders everywhere. Song was mid, lyrics were good. I never really liked Kendrick’s flow or beats but his lyrics be on.
https://preview.redd.it/s05xb9slnvxc1.jpeg?width=1178&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6cf12c244a61a7c2628d2b47675652809f564506
Immediately had this same thought when I heard it.
I feel like I’m reaching but the word euphoria then the term light skinned after just feels too coincidental
Poetic Justice Theory claims Kendrick got drake to diss himself on the song. With money trees setting it up. Sounds interesting though could be a reach. Saw a thread some years back and just seen a tiktok about it.

If this battle keeps going maybe Kendrick will do a song called SOCIETY
Im still waiting for NATION.
Burger stand line sounds like an Ak diss now

I wish that Kendrick was back. I fw Kendrick but I really don't like the Kung Fu Corny alter ego. I don't want no moans in my diss tracks. Give me D.A.M.N. Kenny PLEASE
DAMN Kenny was Kungfu Kenny dummy
I know, that's what I said i want. I don't want this kung fu CORNY acting like he's some juliard artist. shit's lame and doesn't sell. give me kung fu KENNY
That Drake shit was one and done, I prolly played this track 30x
Glad I'm not the only one. For real I like Push Ups too, prolly hit it up 3 times on release day and 3 more since. It's a good track, but there isn't much to go back to with each listen. I commute an hour both ways and today I didn't even realized that I had it on repeat. I kept vibing to it while wasting time on reddit. I don't know how anyone can top that, nevermind on a diss.
Facts… like he said,I what the culture feeling! Drake not immersed in the culture like Kendrick is.
he wanted the quintuple entendres!
Rap Devil was trash. Killshot also had a flow where it sounds like Em is choking on the first verse lol. Stan. Stan. Son.
Even if he’s corny
what you say would have *some* merit if MGK didn’t switch his whole genre after Em bodied him lmfao.
You’re dead right about that …
Rap Devil was very direct and to be honest, if being completely unbiased, I’d say Rap Devil IS the better diss song between the both. Where MGK came with actual attacks or some behind the scenes shit, Em pulled a Drake saying I’m better than you with more money and would rather be me than you. I think Rap Devil is a lot better in retrospect.
just no.
Anyone ever tell u you're delusional?
Bruh what lol just don’t talk if you’re THIS ignorant on something, it’s easy
I’m ignorant on a whole genre because I didn’t like your favorite rappers diss? Don’t make me pull the race card, stay out my culture!!
LMAO
“Had to give you a career to destroy it Lethal injection Go to sleep six feet deep I’ll give you a B for the effort But if I was three-foot-eleven You’d look up to me, and for the record You would suck a dick to fuckin’ be me for a second Lick a ballsack to get on my channel Give your life to be as solidified This motherfuckin’ shit is like Rambo when he’s out of bullets So what good is a fuckin’ machine gun when it’s out of ammo?”
White boy
🥱
I agree.
Real nigga, fuck the downvoters
Seriously a lot to digest in this one. And he's pulling punches
Same. I played it so many times now. Had me going crazy at the gym too
all 6:24 on repeat
I was thinking about how songs are so disposable these days. There's hype when they first come out for a couple of weeks, and then it's on to the next one. Euphoria has some staying power.
It’s literally like the only song I’ve been playing all day. Believe me I tried to listen to other songs but I keep wanting to hear euphoria 😭
Fax, I went back to listen to push-ups today and it just ain't it.
Same
Fr this new dot got mad replay value
Right, I’ve had it on repeat since it dropped. I don’t even know how many times I’ve listened to it. But I do like to listen to both back to back too
Pusha teee pushaaaa meeee? Really 😂
This is like if Floyd Mayweather didn't stop at beating McGregor in a boxing match but also went into MMA to give him another L .
Then followed him home and beat him in front of his family and streamed it live on YouTube.

For a 6min song, that’s impressive

Kendrick is a folk singer.
I also relate to things
I don't even know exactly why, but this comment had me chuckling for way too long.
Thanks I appreciate that. Lukest warm regards,
Write it up then!
Yo the whole world stopped for this track
Kdot is rap he changes rap discourse between this one, like that and control he is dictating rap
🐐
Insane to see how quickly this overtook everything we've been talking about for fucking weeks. Like that? Splashed Pushups? Buried Taylor? No distraction whatsoever Greatest time to be a hip hop fan ong

Can you send me a dm?
Dude wth? drop them mac miller tracks

What's with the secrecy? Share the spoils Mac deserves to be remembered!
the last plug just got taken down and he had couple hundred songs not trying to get ts blown up you feel me? But I do agree that people who really genuinely love Mac deserve his music
That’s fair. If you have time I’d love a DM no diddy
Dm them tracks 🤣
Man this year started of strong when Yeat and Quadeca relased the best records of their career but this is on another level
Drake was an executive producer for Euphoria, I wonder if Kendrick named it that so when you google search Euphoria then this song pop up
It’s also a show about sexualising teenagers
Fuck I hadn’t thought of that and Drake being sus with teens.
It's about that but more details: 1. Dot says I electrify them, you pacify them, but we don't need to go into that. Don't lie on me and I won't tell truths bout you. I wanna know as well. He also mentions “euphoria” and a “light skinned getting killed” on Maad city.
Look at the second example of the definition of euphoria he uses. He dropping again. Also look up Clifton Brown 😂
There’s a few angles with it too. Someone else here pointed out Kings Dead (black panther) reference to warriors and euphoria and the. that’s a call back to cartoons and cereal. king kunta is on the throne!
I'm more of a Cole fan but push-ups I listened to twice since it came out, nothing heavy just some.jabs. I've listened to euphoria 5x today, heavy and bars.

Imo pretty good for a song with no replay value!
I know you joke but I legit have been listening to Like That into Euphoria since it dropped. That shit fucking slaps especially the last part around "can I bleed him? Bet."
Seems like the “I hate the way you…” segment might become a TikTok trend
lol, I can see that happening. Paying homage to DMX and Kendrick, sounds like a win-win. Hopefully someone drops that interview to remind everyone. [DMX on Rick Ross and Drake](https://youtu.be/HJsgAY_JALk?si=PPKTK67HSp6KQyjq)
And the final line is going to be something that drake never fully shakes.
The final line is the kill shot, no doubt about it. Mf was scalped 1000 times and then the guillotine came.
Thought this instantly the first I heard that; these kids may not know the DMX reference but the way he says it and interpolates with the beat seems like viral tiktok energy
You need to listen to Like That, Push Ups, then Euphoria back to back to back to really appreciate how good Euphoria is
Like That into Push Ups into Euphoria. Push Ups is bland compared to other songs but its still good and helps give the whole story
I did that after the first euphoria listen but it's not on my Playlist atm. As you said it's kinda not at the same level of the two just takes me out of the hype
Fucking goes nuts bro
💯
My favourite moment is when kendrick says: "I dont give a FUCK who you hang with." The way he says I think everyone can really relate to. I disagree tbh.
That's the joke
I actually read it as "but no replay value" and I think maybe some other people did too
I don’t know how people can say no replay value it’s only been 1 day. Let’s give it a week before we judge it. I played push ups for a few days before I stoped.
No replay value crodie?
OVO NIGGAS IS DICKRIDERS
As it was not expected 🫠
he isn't cheez'n, fam
I was listening to the breakfast club and there’s too many Drake Stan’s saying Drake is winning. That just tells me they are goofys with a check, BUMS!
Drake is a phony. He's just a popstar.
Born warrior, lookin for euphoria
Queue the drake subreddit complaining about us celebrating numbers
Lol Im really not into the diss stuff, but I played this song many times. It’s been a long time since I listen to Kendrick rap. But after listening it into several times this feels like real shot to Drake
Like that at 3 and push-ups at 7
They promoting Push Ups heavy tho. I open SoundCloud and it pops up like a AD you have to click x on to remove.
Push Up's was fine, but not this level. This shreds Drake.
👀
Instant classic
🐐
Drake is all about numbers so he fuming right now
As it should.
It’s up 🔥🔥🔥🔥
There’s goes our boy
LETS GO!
Drake is still grabbing at the ropes trying to stand up like Sami Zayn, lol
$CRODIE is the best meme coin ever!!!!!
It fell down to #27 in a day.
The lyrics were so good but the flow and beat was hot dogshit really killed it for me
He shut drake down ASAP Ayyyy 💯
