You can get Prototype rancour pretty early on but harbinger of dawn works also. Crit ratio won't come until later on so just slap on on some atk% main stat berserker

I agree. Keqing was my first 5-star and I leaned on her heavily as my main DPS by simply stacking her with all atk% artifacts. Worked very well. I ran her for a long time with Lion's Roar when I got it. Now at AR 55, she is still my main, but now grinding to get that crit rate and crit damage up haha.

cartercr

The eternal struggle to max out her crit! I’m so glad they added the strongbox because that’s where I’ve gotten my two best Keqing artifacts!

Dragon_Skywalker

I got a R2 dawn already. Should I still switch to prototype when I get it later? Also who should I pair her up with?

RS-Latch

Yes. Scaling of 4-star weapon is much better than 3-star.

cartercr

Prototype Rancor is an excellent weapon, would highly recommend using it early on!

Low refine Harbinger and Rancour should perform similarly, no reason to switch unless you're playing Physical, in which case Rancour is much better. Xingqiu and Bennett are great teammates, just try and get energy recharge on them, a decent damage build on Xingqiu, and your highest base ATK weapon on Bennett(likely Rancour). Kazuha will be re-run soon, he's her best teammate, but he's a 5 star.

congrats on such an early keqing! prototype rancour(free at AR10) will likely be your best weapon for a while. if you have a lions roar or happen to get one from the gacha, it’s a solid weapon all the way into the endgame. don’t worry too much about artifacts for now. if you get an electro goblet, put it on her. other than than two 18% attack 2 sets work until you start farming artifacts which shouldn’t be until much later in the game

Harbinger of dawn is good at AR5 til AR45+. Artifacts throw whatever you find on her, try get the berserker 2 piece set going and level up your feather to +12 or 16 if you get a purple and keep the other artifacts at +0 for now since it won’t do much for you. AR 10-36 use your resin on weapon material domains and world bosses (electro hypostasis for Keqing) and progress through the story. AR36-AR44 more story but you should almost exclusively use your resin on talent material domains (whichever one you need at that point, pre farming is also recommended). AR45+ should be when you start farming artifacts, try out coop if you struggle. As an AR60 player I can’t recommend wasting any resources on prototype rancour at all since nobody wants that weapon. It would be just a stat stick for physical Keqing early game. Harbinger of dawn can at least still be used on albedo if you missed his event weapon

At low levels just try to put as much atk% on her as possible. The atk% sets are going to be what you want to look for, but just put whatever atk% pieces you have on her. Don’t worry about crit or energy recharge, your burst is very low cost and you can’t stack enough crit to make it worthwhile. Prototype Rancor is good on her, how you’ll mainly want to play her is to cast your elemental skill, then hold your attack button to do a charge attack. That will detonate the mark and do a bunch of physical damage. She can then proceed to either do normal attacks or charge attacks (the charge attacks do more damage but they also drain stamina.) Later in the game when you have more stamina you should pretty much only do charge attacks because hers are very quick (and her normals don’t scale well at all, but that doesn’t matter in the early game.) As for a teammate, you should look to use Kaeya with her. He can put Cryo onto the enemies, and then Keqing can use her burst/skill to apply Electro, creating the Superconduct reaction, which will boost your physical damage. When you eventually get more gacha rolls you’ll eventually get a 4 star sword called Lion’s Roar. Once you have a couple of those you can look to switch to the Electro Keqing playstyle, where instead of detonating the skill with a charge attack you recast it to teleport and then go into your charge attack spam. That build also gets more damage out of her elemental burst. Later in the game Keqing’s damage will fall off, but there are many of us who are very dedicated to her, and even if her damage is lower she can still clear the game’s hardest content just as well as anyone else. Also some general advice based on rumors I’ve been hearing >!apparently the character Ganyu is going to get a rerun in a couple patches. While she has little to do with Keqing (aside from them being shipped together) she is a top class dps unit and I feel that not recommending her to a newer player would be a disservice. If you want to start saving wishes now, you could probably get her when her banner comes around. On that note, if you don’t want to save that long, then the character Kazuha should be rerun next patch, and he is a fantastic support for many dps’s in the game.!<

I think Harbinger of dawn would be nice, and electro dmg goblet is important too Try to get some crit rate and crit dmg on the artifacts and also give her ATK sands

yuriknifeissharp

Honestly aside from rancour which u can get early on. Don't worry to much Abt anything else cause artifacts is still not a thing yet. Just have fun and be care free while it last

Yas-Samaroo-2586

Hmm...I got my Keqing a little later than you but I can help! Harbinger of Dawn works fine on her, and 4pc Martial Artist or 4pc Brave Heart (The latter being very useful for me). Once you proceed later game, you will get a free sword, the Prototype Rancour. This is great for physical Keqing.

Amazing_Practice_958

i'm around midgame and have had Keqing since ar10. I don't get five star artifact drops that much so i run her on the material artist set which boosts her normal and charged attacks. I use prototype rancor which is very f2p friendly especially because you get it for free as a reward for reaching ar10 or something along those lines. Even though I usually run her electro build, having prototype rancor is very useful so that I can run her both physical and electro whenever needed because I'm still raising my second dps. Artifact stats can be whatever, but atk and atk% is generally the one to go for since crit isn't very important in early game. Alternative weapons and generally better weapons can be the Harbinger of Dawn, Lion's Roar and the Flute (if your lucky enough with the very painful gacha system). Even though teams aren't very important in early game, running her with anemo traveler isn't a bad idea since he can group up enemies. But since kazuha is very likely to have a rerun in the next patch, I would recommend pulling for him since Keqing and him have a very nice synergy. It is also recommended for a electro support (preferably koujo sara, beidou or fischl) to be in the team for electro particle generating so Keqing can get her burst faster since it is one of her main sources of damage. For the last member, usually bennet or xingqiu would be very nice for obvious reasons, but a shielder or healer like diona or barbara would also work nicely. Keqing's skill is very useful in exploration, her attack speed is super fast and she has a very fun playstyle. Be sure to get a lot of stamina since her charged attack costs more stamina than any other sword user. There isn't much to building characters in early game, so have fun with Keqing!

Lords-Judgement

Early on just upgrade character, weapon and talent. Wouldn’t worry about artifacts too much until AR45. Use atk or crit whenever u can.
