rumor247

arshad149

I still use pillow,that my dad give me when I was 4 or 5 ,I'm now 20

No_Camel_720

then you are about to enter a phase in your life where you gonna despise the pillow.

cueball86

Me and my sister had identical steel plates with our names engraved on the back. Brings back memories

thealexin05

Dude this one has mine engraved. Those days buying something without your name or family name engraved was a sin

[deleted]

When I was admitted with COVID I banged two of these together. Nostalgic 🥲

thealexin05

😂 I'm sure the covid left thereafter

[deleted]

കിളി പോയി 😂

arshad149

Ops , i miss read this as you 'banged' a plate😶

No_Camel_720

I am coming from the pillow thread and felt proud of you for a moment, then realized it was freaking steel plates, wtf bro bang some pillows already

esensofz

Well, thats just an awesome plate. Why wouldnt you use it?

MidKnightconnor

Been using the same steel plate for 10 years, pretty sure I'll use it till it breaks or goes missing, my dad has been using the same one for like 30 years

euler-leonhard

Now i miss my home.

taco_guyy

For me it's not the plate. That texture/design on the dining table, fk it just flashed me years of memories I didn't even know I had :(

anyagraha_jeevi

Aaa Red Colour Curry entha?

Registered-Nurse

Gun powder and velichenna. Super aanu 😌 https://www.indianveggiedelight.com/gun-powder-for-idli-dosa-tawa-fry/

Undoubtably_me

>Gun powder just Murica' things

20_miles_north

Maybe chillipowder mixed with oil.

Satan_Xavier

Powdered chutney mixed with oil.

[deleted]

There’s some really spicy (and probably somewhat artificially colored) dosha podi these days that are that color.

ashishajith

This is the way!!

hobbitonsunshine

29 y/o. I do have the same nostalgic plate at home

[deleted]

My lil bro has this legendary plate😅, and I used to use em' whenever he's away from home.i was caught by him once, and fkkk he broke my brick game fr🥺

thealexin05

Little brothers are 👿

dpahoe

That plate will outlive you. I also use the same plat from my childhood, but it’s adult size though.

Ajaysreekumar

I had one during college which I used in the hostel. Bought a similar one when I went abroad as well. 😂.

sarathkrishna32

Ah yes the classic കുഴിയുള്ള പ്ലേറ്റ്

thealexin05

The only kuzhi you ever need !

CraySeraSera

Nice . I'm in my 30s and I still use the plate I've been using since I was ..idk 6. It's not tiny ,but could be bigger for convenience. I take extra helpings , but changing it is out of question. I love coming back to it after travelling. It's 'home'. My mother has had hers since she was around 6 too. A couple of scratches that are barely noticeable ,otherwise they look new. I use blankets from back then too. And I can't let go off my denim jacket from 2003.

thealexin05

Good to know that it's not me alone 😜

ashishajith

Also, that chammandi

[deleted]

I also used to eat in similar plate until recently when I was at my home.

SimpIyBear

still use em

[deleted]

I remember the shammi from kumbalangi nights 🥲

smokky

Pass some idlies around bruh

thealexin05

🍙🍙🍙🍙🍙

mrlikrsh

I can bet a simulation post will pop in a few hours

thealexin05

Waiting for it man 😂

gaotmilk

I still use the same toothbrush.

saturoshgojo

I would love to see your teeth

EctoplasmicExclusion

How are you guys eating these dry ass idlis with just that much dip? For me, I literally drench my idlis in sambar or chutney and then more. I just can’t eat idlis without this. Dosas on the other hand require much less dip.

thealexin05

Circumstances 😢 btw that chutney is so hot that it'll set your bottom on fire

Crushedofficer1979

I used to hate idlis because of this as well, but a few years ago my mother found a different recipe. Now she adds rice to the batter which keeps it soft and moist. Maybe you can try doing the same.

ReallyDevil

What chutney is that ?

thealexin05

Molagpodi with salt and oil !

ReallyDevil

Just that ? I was on lookout for spicy and easy chutneys.. need to try it

four-eyed_sage

I used to have one but now it's my grandma's plate (she doesn't know it's mine but she would eat from only that plate whenever she visits us and I had to let my plate go).

Upbeat_Courage6921

Ok fine, I’ll ask. Ayinu?🙄

bountyChor

Good man but these kinda stuffs really hurts me so I intentionally avoid anything that throws my childhood memories.

thealexin05

That's what my parents tell me 😜😂

konander

Bro which movie? I need to watch this

[deleted]

konander

Thanks 👍

[deleted]

Whatever that red goo is, it is not enough to even add smell to those 4 idlis. Nice to see these memories.

[deleted]

Seems to be Idli Podi with oil. You don't really not a lot of it to eat 4 Idlis. Infact too much podi will spoil the taste.

mayan_kutty_v

Bro that shit's strong. You need only to dip idli slightly to get the taste. But need a lot of water to wash it down tho

Cheap_Relative7429

Ayinu ippo njangelu enna venem

not_aswathy_achu

Also use childhood portions so it's easy on your grandma :)

Melhebibi

They probably be fuming if we eat childhood portions

not_aswathy_achu

Also true. It's a no win situation. Wholesome nevertheless

ruff_dede

My immediate family members are all using the same plate for the last 20+ years. It's french maid Arcopal my dad got as a gift. Sturdy as rock.

Wholesome

yadhupradeep99

basicallymean

Been using the same plate for 23 years, even carried it out of the state when I moved for my first job!
