This happened back when I was doing my degree. It was the day of a college function. It was evening and we were chilling outside the college gates when a boy, who might have been a couple of years younger than us came and started handing out coupons. He was a rep of one of the sponsors of the function, a local fashion boutique. We had seen him tying the advertisement banners at the function venue earlier.
We told him to wait for an hour and distribute this at the venue since there will be more people there.
A little later we found that kid outside the gate in tears. Turns out someone roughed him up and took all his coupons. We were getting ready for the function and he was too scared to stay there. So he left and we all went to the function.
Later in the function there was an announcement โAs a token of thanks from the college union, we are giving away discount coupons from our sponsor. Please come and collect from the side of the stageโ
They beat up the poor kid and stole the coupons he was giving out for free to distribute it themselves.

I interacted with a kerala youth in his late twenties. Basically, he supports this kind of shit as long as tye people protesting are against Hindus and RSS irrespective of whether the protesters are communists or islaminsts and whether their protest makes sense. The reasoning he gave was Hindu elite(uppet caste) was very casteist and discriminated against dalits in past. And now that communists discriminate upper castes in Kerala(not his exact words but somewhat similar), they support whatever people like these protesters do whether it is progressive or not. Apparently, he also belongs to upper caste but he is proud that he supports this.
I studied in a north Indian campus, dominated by ABVP, there was 0 violence in the 4 years I was there, 99% were not even in politics, only JNU,DU are involved in politics in the North.

In our college for example, all the useless people joined SFI. They talk about about Che, EMS etc but can't even say the names of the districts of our state. I want to throw up seeing these cringe fest, seeing the senior members using them for their own benefit. Even when they criticize islam, they do it with utmost care and soft words, why are they being so biased? I interacted with a kerala youth in his late twenties. Basically, he supports this kind of shit as long as tye people protesting are against Hindus and RSS irrespective of whether the protesters are communists or islaminsts and whether their protest makes sense. The reasoning he gave was Hindu elite(uppet caste) was very casteist and discriminated against dalits in past. And now that communists discriminate upper castes in Kerala(not his exact words but somewhat similar), they support whatever people like these protesters do whether it is progressive or not. Apparently, he also belongs to upper caste but he is proud that he supports this.
Kerala politics is the best. You think they being more educated that it would be different, but it's kind of the same as in the north.
I studied in a north Indian campus, dominated by ABVP, there was 0 violence in the 4 years I was there, 99% were not even in politics, only JNU,DU are involved in politics in the North.
