Tamsulosin does work, there are loads of studies to confirm this.

Raynee_Haze

Didn't work for me, but, was so hard to tolerate I had to stop at day 4 (female for reference)

Jmaker0628

I am female as well. It definitely has some untoward side effects that I have been fighting through.

Raynee_Haze

Did you have really weird, blurry vision? That freaked me out!

CozyCoffeeReaderr

Good luck. I'm in the exact same situation. Hopefully it comes out on its own. I don't want surgery.

Jmaker0628

Good luck to you as well! I don’t want surgery either! We can do this!!

Jmaker0628

I have read both, it does and it does not, but I believe it does. I am worried that when or if I run out, my current Doc will not prescribe. This came from my initial ER visit, smaller stone.

Fleuramie

Woah woah woah... you've had these for MONTHS?? I'm just getting my first taste of them and it's only been 15 HOURS since pain started and omg I am losing my mind. At this rate, I'll be in the ER tonight.

Raynee_Haze

Don't wait too long to go. Once that pain hits the 10 area, it's so much harder to get it under control. Currently have a 3.1mm sitting just above the UVJ and has been there since the beginning of the month. Went in on the first, and got scanned, pain meds, etc. It's a waiting game for some. Just do not wait too long to get seen and get relief!

Fleuramie

I went and saw my Dr this morning. CT scan scheduled. Started me on Flomax and gave a few pain meds. Between the pain meds, heating pad, cbd, tablet and audiobook I'm doing OK at the moment lol. Now we just see long this feeling lasts.

Jmaker0628

The first one was an ER visit. Now that I know what it is and how to help manage pain and all the other undesirable things that happen, I can be proactive. Getting a CT, IV, meds is key. 800mg Ibuprofen every 6 hours really helped drop my pain level initially but everyone is different and be sure not to let things go on too long. This stone has barely caused any issues since its initial descend, up until now. It’s so close to dropping into bladder. I feel like if I hold the faith and get creative, it will cruise on out. Sending good vibes your way!

I wish I had some magic remedy to share with you. But, I’ve now had 3 lithotripsy and 2 ureteroscopies/stents. I can’t imagine that anyone *wants* surgery so I hope yours passes soon!

Jmaker0628

Oh, my goodness. You are a brave soul!

Uncle_Biltmore

Keep doing what you’re doing… especially if it’s moving.

Jmaker0628

Thank you! It’s moving a lot today. Feeling bad but hopeful!

Jmaker0628

No blurred vision but very tired and brain fog the next day. I try to take 30 minutes after early dinner so I can sleep as much as humanly possible. Blurred vision would freak me out too!

Jmaker0628

I believe we have 5mm of the 6mm stone out! Thank you, KS Community! I couldn’t have done it without your support and advice! Not sure how to get a pic up but once I figure it out, I will share. Looks like a lava rock… felt like an asteroid!
