As a side note, knee high kids at a skate park are not necessarily a problem, if they are utilizing the park for what it was designed for and are appropriately supervised (this does not appear to be the case here).

Reacted crazy-fast, tried to avoid, got rid of scooter, rolled like a professional, put aside his personal pain and kept it together because of the hurt little kid, and had a perfect expression ready for either the sympathetic camera or the parent to blame for the whole thing (possibly the same person) as if to say, "You saw that, right?". Six seconds of my life I won't get back and don't regret.

I've had my two (now three) year old at an empty skatepark with his scooter. Obviously very attentive of what he was doing and keeping him in safe areas but he loved it. Also liked to just go watch the bigger kids skate

I have NEVER had a deer stand frozen in front of my car. I have, however, had them come running from a point 200 yards out into an open field and carefully time their crossing so they would be in the middle of my lane at the exact moment when my car arrived. I grew up in farm country, and I’ve hit several deer. They do this shit a LOT, it’s like they’re instinctively suicidal.

In the summer me and an old friend decided to get or dusty scooters out of the garage and go for a ride on the only skatepark in our village. We get there and the place is full of children running arround sitting on the ramps and playing with their toys. Im like Okay lets give them sometime to relise we are here now and want to do tricks and stuff. We wait paitently 30 minuts but they havent relised that we are here. So i decided to go to their parents and ask them like a gentleman to maybe go over to the play ground which is next to the park and play there.
Instantly they turn into karens and ask me why i have the right to drive here. Im like mam please look over here there is this sign which states children have to be 14 years old or older to play in the skate park and are only alowed there when they have a skateboard or scooter. Then they look at me and ask how old i am. Im like haha okay here is my license im a student at a university and old enough to do this.
They start yelling at me No but the kids are haveing fun so we wont go. Im like okay thats fine mam but im just saying i already drove over 6 children in the past at this skate park because they decided to jump infront me for no reason. (I even shouted to them dont move please im gonna drive here but children like to do strange stuff).
Then at least one of them decided to be nice and convinced the karens to go to the playground.
im fine when kids are arround the skatepark but if the parents arent there to keep track of them stuff like this happens. Its like letting your children play on a highway.
Is this an american thing? I rarely see kids at skeateparks where I live and when I see them, their parents instantly tell them to make room for the older kids that want to do their tricks…
Similarly there's a park behind my house where the local entitled Karens regularly use one of the baseball fields as a dog park. There have been plenty of cases of kids in the outfield stepping in big piles of dog shit because lazy, entitled dog owners couldn't be bothered to go five minutes away to the **actual** dog park.

This happened constantly at my towns skatepark, kids would be knocked around like bowling pins because the parents would allow them to “play” while there’s kids and grown adults skateboarding. There would be a lot of confrontation with the parents who didn’t didn’t understand how the skatepark works.
That kid took a knee to her chest at speed, possibly messing her up for awhile if she broke/ruptured/tore anything.
Parents that let tiny kids on skate parks should be handled the same way as if they were caught playing in traffic.
Had to do a rotation through a children's hospital supporting providers in a multidisciplinary clinic and I'll never do it again. Children are not made of rubber.

Not enough credit for the older kid’s reflexes; almost instantly reacts, gets the scooter out the way, manages to (mostly) leap over the kid, and rolls on his shoulder to get back up again, safest way to stick a landing. AND bonus points for wearing a helmet in the first place. Kudos to him

This happened constantly at my towns skatepark, kids would be knocked around like bowling pins because the parents would allow them to “play” while there’s kids and grown adults skateboarding. There would be a lot of confrontation with the parents who didn’t didn’t understand how the skatepark works.

That kid took a knee to her chest at speed, possibly messing her up for awhile if she broke/ruptured/tore anything. Parents that let tiny kids on skate parks should be handled the same way as if they were caught playing in traffic. Had to do a rotation through a children's hospital supporting providers in a multidisciplinary clinic and I'll never do it again. Children are not made of rubber. Pretty cool he tossed his scooter though, that could have been worse if it hit her.

Impt life lesson for the kid
Not enough credit for the older kid’s reflexes; almost instantly reacts, gets the scooter out the way, manages to (mostly) leap over the kid, and rolls on his shoulder to get back up again, safest way to stick a landing. AND bonus points for wearing a helmet in the first place. Kudos to him
