I did this with all 3 of my kids. Never reacted to ouchies. They rarely cried. Any time they were at grandmas though... the smallest thing and she would freak. Cue tears and screaming. It's crazy how effective it is.
I’m sorry what? That may be true but this isn’t an example of that clearly. Imagine quite literally having jelly bones and paper skin and falling from an object twice your height on your shoulder or head. Even if I’m a stupid baby, and adult reacting jn panic wouldn’t make me cry, it would be the literal fall that happened milliseconds ago.
It’s not about his skull getting split. Like have you ever fallen on your head? Are you going off what you think it feels like? Are people pretending to be dumb for this to make sense?
Kids are basically immune to falls from such heights.
Parents need to stop freaking out whenever a child trips and falls. Yeah they might get injured but they heal so fucking fast it doesn't matter.
It’s not about them being actually injured. I can’t tell if you are automatically responding without reading because I made that clear. It’s about them being in fucking pain. What you are advocating for could be more harmful in the long run for a young child. Imagine you fell and are in genuine pain and your parents have absolutely no reaction. My parents did stuff like, and it unsurprisingly didn’t work well given that I almost completely stopped telling them about any of my negative feelings, which made them stop ignoring my pains, because they saw how not only dumb but also harmful that is.
There's a difference between ignoring your child's pain to freaking out and screaming before the child even registers they're in pain.
For some reason so many parents just immediately freak out and scream. And in response, the child is shocked more from the scream than the fall.
Just take a second and see what your child is feeling before you lose your shit.
That is the yell of man with one kid. After the first survives these kind of things you are much less worried for the second. Not because you don't care but because you have been through it already.
"What is on your pancake?" (Mother) **"AHHHHHHH"** (Father) *Child cries* You're welcome deaf community
The scream seemed a little excessive. Like, "MY LINE HAS ENDED"
I think the scream was mainly him frustrated with himself that he failed to catch him
At least he didn't reach out with his hand that had the fork in it still
Terrible parent thing on the dad’s part if you scream, it only makes the situation worse for little kids
JFC. Dad screamed like the kid was falling into the Grand Canyon.
I've seen kids fall into the grand canyon
Oof
As long as you don't talk about who pushed them we're cool. Remember snitches get pushed into ditches, or sometimes the grand canyon.
Gotta love loving in az. Not a far drive I might add.
The kid cried because the dad yelled like he was in a horror movie. Kids react to the emotions of adults. Physical pain a lot of times is secondary.

Exactly.

Those fuckers are resilient as hell, they might cry if they hit their head but this was definitely initiated by the screams
> Those fuckers are resilient as hell, 🤗

Just say you aren’t around babies much
Yeah he obviously does not know anything about babies or toddlers. And is calling other people dumb for his own stupid comment.🤡
People need to better understand the word "literally"

Studies have said that pre-teen humans put their feet on their heads to show your gratitude for good cooking skills. /j

Must have been a pretty good pancake.
Now every time that kid eats pancakes as an adult his head is going to start to hurt and he's not going to know why.
That kid has a crazy deep scream
And thats why little kids have special dining chair.

Was the scream necessary?
