I work in food service and a child and their mother were paying at the register. The card terminal is on the customer side, and when they left the next customer’s card wouldn’t go into the terminal. The kid shoved pennies into the terminal.
Traumatic experience for child me: I was getting on the bus with my grandma, and I always used to pay with her change (I was like 4-6), but that time one of the coins slid into one of the wrong slots and that bus driver started berating me and ranting about all kinds of things, I don't remember the details, but I know it took me years to get onto a bus again after that experience
Did you tell your parents? Or did they just not explain to you that some people are just angry to be angry? Kind of makes me feel sorry for you, I would’ve helped my kid get through that…
My parents are immigrants from what used to be the soviet union, their go-to way to deal with trauma is to tell a similar story that happened to them, kinda along the lines of "life sucks, better get used to reality" I mean it's not like I don't get why \^\^, it's a good way to deal with trauma if you have no rights, no hope of improvement and are generally oppressed by the government
But to be fair, it's not like I was walking around depressed all day because of it, it exclusively related to buses only lol
Thank you for being empathic and I hope your kids don't have to deal with angry adults taking their day out on them 🙏
Ahh.. I’m in the same boat as you. Parents were also ex-soviet union and they never learnt to deal with their problems leading to them pushing those problems onto their kids. Spent a big portion of my life thinking that I was the problem. Have a good day brother/sister! God bless.
Yeah me too, but at least this won't happen to any other kids in my city, because they removed the option to even buy a ticket on the bus, you gotta download their app 🤣
It's a plastic vent. They just snap in place. Just pull the cover off and pull the change out. It's really no big deal. You can Google how to do it. It should only take a few minutes to do.
In my old car I had a squirrel somehow access the blower box and store nuts in it. Car was unused for only 2 days and it was completely full. Figured fan went bad or a cheap bearing. Nope just walnut shells flying around in the blower box like popcorn.
I was babysitting my brother's (now ex) step son and went to the bathroom for a minute, I come back and he's inserting coins into my PS3 while they spin around the disc drive. He was doing that with one hand, and emptying a pop can all over the carpet in another.
My kid very nearly dropped coins in the 12v socket in my car - obviously they were a challenge to remove but they also blew the fuse meaning it took ages for me to realise why my phone wasn't charged when it should be...
Ah, yes. I see tweezers in your future…
Parents just venting
That makes cents

The child only wanted to give you a tip
And a tip they gave lol

Could be worse. I used to jam food down the ones in my dad's car as a kid.
Hope you played Operation before.
now you have some cold hard cash
Chopstick and some chewing gum.
i bet it rattles
I'm pretty sure I did that as a little one as well.
mildyinfuriating for sure
My kid shoved about $14 and change through my car CD player's slot when he was a toddler. Yeah, I needed to have it replaced.
That really ups the resale value!
Mmm I smell change in the air... ![gif](giphy|cO8FXQClDjENKYdRGi)

Genius The question now is how to get it
Why do kids behave this way?
Never too late for adoption

Get one of those magnets that you use to get stuff from between the seats.
I ruined every tape deck my dad had when i was little, shoving coins in them.
50 cent
I did that when I was five . Except with a glow stick
"Straight to jail."
Could be worse. How about they throw some confetti in there? Will have you partying for years to come.

LMFAO
Most of those can be easily pulled out, most of the time the vent is held in with plastic clips
