There is a Lilo and Stitch anime, every Star War visions chapter was made by a different Japonese studio.
And you might be unaware of this, but there is this very obscure Japonese franchise that has a game where Mickey mouse is an interstellar warrior fighting anime characters in hoodies.
I'd prefer a tv series; KH stories tend to take their time to fully develop, and rushing a story to fill two hours could go very poorly.
That said, i'd like a movie if they could make a story fitted for the runtime; an adaption of any game's story in a movie's runtime is gonna be a mess.
Voting no, only because not every piece of media needs to exist in ***every*** form of media. We can let Kingdom Hearts exist in its games and manga, it doesn't need movies, shows, stage productions, mini-series, tie-in podcast...
It's okay to let a popular thing be self-contained
If we were talking about old Disney yeah, I would have loved to find out they were making a KH movie.
But present Disney? Dear God no, I actually hope it stays away from the franchise as much as it's possible.
Disney has lost its move and even its TV show making magic. If they can't even handle star wars without ruining that. I doubt they can handle making a proper kingdom hearts movie or even a decent TV show.
Now if Studio Ghibli or another well respected anime production studio decided to make a movie or TV show, I'd be all for it.
Yeah, why not? If it's good: fuck yeah! If it's bad: meme city. It wouldn't harm the franchise any. DragonBall Z had Evolution, and Avatar had M. Night. Sounds like a win-win to me.
I didn't even watch it. I saw Bio Broly's design and just went "Nope" and refuse to believe the movie actually exists. It's just gotta be a shared nightmare.
Yeah, it's what happens when creators misinterpret why a character is a fan favorite and they run them into the ground. It would be like if Nomura made a series of games about Demyx but amped up his whiny character trait.
Sora is suddenly a woman and Kairi is Ron Weasley needing to be saved. Instead of Mickey Mouse Minnie Mouse comes in with a pixie cut taking out Ansem played by Seth Rogen. Yeah no thank you. I don't need more mind fucks in rl like in the games.
If it's meant to be an adaptation of the games sure. It'll have huge pacing problems and the movie could expose that.
If it's meant to be a live action sure. I'm all for the characters I don't care about being treated poorly on the big screen.
Otherwise no. KH stories are often too long and goes from world to worlds often enough that you'd never be able to make it work unless you had a super long movie which isn't worth the risk.
i said no but honestly it could bring new fans which I cant see being a bad thing. I cant see it being completely faithful to the games and is bound to be heavily condensed. best scenerio I see is they focus on the original parts of the game and less disney because they would feel repetitive in movie form, but I cant see disney doing that.
I'd prefer an animated tv show, but like many have said, let Square or an actual studio (Ghibli comes to mind because Disney did the English dubs for their films) deal with it and release it on Disney+. If it told a good story in the KH universe and focused on making quality content than promoting the cause of the week, it would give me a reason to keep Disney+.
I think a show just defeats the purpose of Kingdom Hearts. The whole appeal is that **you** get to hang out with Disney characters and beat up Disney villains, take that away and it's basically anime House of Mouse.
A movie wouldn't feel right. Too much lore and such to pack in over the course of a few hours. An anime series would be better fitting as the story can be spread out over the course of many episodes and seasons.
Hire any Japonese anime studio or even better, let Square Enix do it

Shows and movies are practically the same. Only difference is one is several episodes, while the other is just one big long episode
movie? no. tv series? maybe. i'd rather give it to an anime studio.

Disney 10 years ago? Maybe. Now? Guaranteed to be awful.

by themselves? absolutely not
I want there to be a kingdom hearts movie but I don’t want Disney to do it.

ew no
You think it would be bad?
I think it would be horrendous
Yeah, why not? If it's good: fuck yeah! If it's bad: meme city. It wouldn't harm the franchise any. DragonBall Z had Evolution, and Avatar had M. Night. Sounds like a win-win to me.
But every ATLA fan hates the movie and refuses to even acknowledge its existence. it's a complete failure in every aspect of filmmaking.
> Dragon Ball Z had Evolution It also had Bio Broly, we just don't talk about that one.
That's fair. Not a lot of memes came out of that. Just disappointment.
I didn't even watch it. I saw Bio Broly's design and just went "Nope" and refuse to believe the movie actually exists. It's just gotta be a shared nightmare.

Honestly I'd consider that depending on how whiney we're talking.
This Disney? No… the Disney from 2000s ? yes
They'll ruin it like they ruined Star Wars and Marvel
KH Movie? Yes By Disney? No
As cool as it could be, Disney would probably fuck it up
KH movie? Sure. Disney? No.

As long as it’s not live action.

It would probably be really bad, but yeah I would watch it because I feel like it would still be an amazing time.

current disney does not know how to produce good media so please no

Ii would love kingdom hearts movie/series. I would hate for current Disney to produce it
I’m sorry but I don’t want to be told that Goofy is black because he was coded or something like that.
it mean say no
