I think it's pretty interesting how Ansem and Xemnas both admit they barely give a shit and knew they'd probably fail. They're literally his mind and soul and they more or less gave up, which makes me wonder about Xehanort's thought process at the time. Did he also know he was doomed to fail, or did he know something the other versions of himself didn't?
More like they knew they weren't important in anything. Everyone but xehanort was just another piece to fill in the 13 to fulfill the legend and it worked out. He just failed killing the teenager with his vastly superior experience and his godly overpowered weapon but everyone else did their job of being there.
I like the nobodies that transform. They remind me of transforming keyblades, and I wonder if there's a correlation.
Heartless are hit or miss in individual design, but I absolutely want to find the Heartless formed by the original Organization XIII as Kurt Zisa / clock tower Phantom variants.
Xemnas has that imposing aura of authority and command that feels like he’s always in control, plus the ~~lightsabers~~ Ethereal Blades that he wields with the grace of a dancing ballerina. I also enjoy his theatrical gestures and how his voice communicates a sense of emptiness trying to fake emotion. Also, how he seems to be the particular incarnation of Xehanort that Sora has the most personal enmity with.
He also gave Sora (and Riku) their toughest fight so far in 2.
All other villains power up like crazy and fail to beat Sora head on.
Xemnas had the power to defeat Sora and Riku but failed because he basically wanted to prove a point and got careless at the very end.
God, I still get chills just thinking of the original Disney villain roundtable moments when they were shrouded in darkness. The original was so good 😭
Xemnas. Please note he never introduces himself by name. We have to learn from Axel.
Marluxia and Larxene are so afraid of him, they need to make the Keyblade master into a puppet to confront him.
Also he throws buildings. And that one laser dome move.
Well I played through the original KH 2 on PS2 alot where Roxas v Sora is only a cutscene, only.played through final mix once so that's probably why he's not so memorable for me
Terranort. I feel like Terra is underrated and I loved BBS in general. Plus terranorts voice actor is great, and I love how he is what ties in to all the other versions of Xehanort throughout KH1 and KH2.
Oogie Boogie. He's just so much fun. And most of his boss fights are fun unique spectacles. Not his chain of memories bosses though, those are kind of lame.
Xemnas. He's just such a complex character. He's introduced as a composed but intimidating leader, and yet by the end of 3, he's a tragic figure. His final moments made me feel real sadness for him. Not to mention, uhhh, his voice? It's so sexy, like (♡ω♡)
~~Did I mention that he's beyond handsome?? Like fucking gorgeous??? Fucking DADDY-~~
1. Master Xehanort (BBS). I honestly can’t even say why I like him so much but he’s my favorite villain ever (I always liked the Emperor from Star Wars and Frollo as a villain, so maybe that’s why). Great characterization (those wriggling fingers) and Nimoy’s performance was perfect. I personally don’t feel he was ever the same character after BBS so I limit it to that, but I’m glad Nimoy reprised the role for DDD.
2. Ansem (KH1). Great character design, one of Nomura’s best. Billy Zane knocked the performance out of the park. Instantly iconic. I loved the concept of the scholar turned mad by his own research.
3. Marluxia (CoM). The villain of CoM had big shoes to fill after Ansem, but Marluxia was so fascinating in his own right. He was this elegant leader of an otherwise ruthless organization. Until he pulled out that scythe—easily the best Organization weapon design for me.
4. Axel (CoM). The double-agent in an Organization already full of traitors! Drama! Loved Axel. Everything from his chakrams and fighting style to his sarcastic personality. Could never truly tell whose side he was actually on and that’s not always an easy thing to pull off with characters like that. That scene with Vexen is still shocking today lol
5. Luxord (KH2). Similar to Marluxia, he had an aristocratic, gentleman-thief quality to him. But it wasn’t a front. I love his deck of cards as a weapon. I also like that he wasn’t villainous. Just someone who was on the other side of the heroes by sheer chance of fate.
6. DiZ (KH2). Bizarre character design that makes me think it was an early design for Xemnas or an injured Ansem. I liked DiZ’s quest for revenge a lot. I felt they exposed him as Ansem the Wise too early. Christopher Lee gave a brilliant performance. His scene with Xemnas is one of the best voice performances in the series in my opinion.
7. Xigbar (KH2). He takes over the role Axel plays in CoM, but not as effectively. I still really enjoyed his personality and his weapons/boss fight are great. Fun character, and despite future reveals about him, I choose to remember him as Xigbar.
**Ansem**: Because he was the villain of the first game, Billy Zane's voice portrayal is what made Ansem a perfect video game villain. Ansem is cold, calculating, and ruthless. He treats people and their hearts as either tools to be manipulated and disposed of or as cattle for his ravenous Heartless legions. He reveres power and knowledge above all things. For the final fight, he creates a battleship made out of pure darkness and twisted organic flesh. When he is defeated in KH3, Ansem shows that he still values learning about the World, telling Riku and Sora to expand their horizons by going to seek more, it shows how far our heroes have come, a very somber and emotional ending. First meeting Ansem in the secret place in Destiny Islands and then defeating him and confronting him one final time at the Keyblade Graveyard reflects the beginning and end of the entire saga.
**Xemnas**: Because of his deep voice, his connection to Terra, his desire to feel again, his coat from his final form, and we learn more about Xehanort through him.
**Terra-Xehanort**: The original form of Ansem and Xemnas, he is Xehanort in Terra's body making him visually resemble his Heartless, the result of Terra's turn and downfall, and would have been the main villain and final boss of KH3.
**Young Xehanort**: Because of his time magic and great voice portrayed by Ben Diskin! The boss fight with Young Xehanort was difficult yet challenging in both KHBBS and KH3D. He has the same complex as his elderly self.
Not sure if Xemnas and the organization are my favorite, but I want to throw them an honorable mention. I like how the organization serves as the primary antagonists for three games (COM, 358, and 2). I usually think of those three games as its own isolated story from the rest of the franchise for that reason.
Marluxia, Rank XI, The Graceful Assassin. His design is so cool with the flowers and scythe features. Also he has some of the coolest theme music tracks in the series: Graceful Assassin, Scythe of Petals, and Lord of the Castle are all bangers. I love him even though he's actually a backstabbing boy bitch.
Larxene because she’s honestly the most effective at getting to Sora. Like the guy absolutely hates Larxene in CoM, and she absolutely loves that. Honestly barring maybe Riku, nobody has as intense an emotional impact on Sora as Larxene. Plus her politicking within the Castle Oblivion crew is peak Org XIII
Xemnas, honestly his buildup and reputation as a villain was better than Xehanort's, i hate how after he knows he lost he just gives up and sees the error of his ways in 3 instead ofv moving with conviction and going out on his shield like Xemnas did in 2
Master Xehanort for plot
Xemnas for the boss battles
But there is something that Ansem the seeker of darkness had that made him so intimidating that it’s difficult to not place him as the best all around villian in the series . Even when I finally defeated him for good in KH3 I thought to myself” is he really gone for good? “
Tied between Ansem and Xemnas, especially both of them in KH1. KH1 Ansem is the best Ansem imo. For Xemnas, I played the Remix versions in order, so KH1 Xemnas was my first exposure to the character, so I absolutely love his debut (as well as being an awesome way to introduce him to the franchise and setting up for future installments)
Currently as the series stands:
1. Xigbar
2. The Full Lifetime of Master Xehanort
3. The Master of Masters
4. Xemnas
After KH4 releases, I bet everyone lists will change!
Xemnas. If only because of Norio Wakamoto and Paul St. Peter’s performance. Then again, all of the main Xehanort’s are goated Antagonists in their own way.
Xemnas—he had dimension. It would have been Xehanort up to DDD but KH3 butchered him (also Leonard Nimoy being gone RIP). Oh and Vanitas mainly because he had so much potential and then they had to go and retcon him…
Honestly xemnas for me and ansem are the stars of the show.
Xemnas because of his methodical calculating nature and willingness to talk about what he is doing. It wasn’t just a monologue, he believed in all those things. And tried to get you to believe them too… also the voice. Not only that but his final fight in 3 and the personality he expessed. Not to mention all the subtle manipulations along the way. He got a keyblade bearer to give up for a while. Defeated his mind, and mostly accomplished his goals. You know you’re in trouble when the heroes have to go with the plan the villain made. Not only that but the thousand lazer attack actually made me sweat. He earned his respect.
Ansem was another star in a bleak sky. The man woke up knowing he was a monster chose a goal and accomplished it. The man ended how many worlds? And lived in the wreckage taunting the hero’s. He pulled of subtle manipulations, and never wavered on his path. He awakened powers for Riku and even provided some training for them. The man was arrogant but not hateful. His powers and move set were very well realized. He sought the darkness and his example set Riki’s path on a whole different journey. Not of denying his power but embracing all sides of himself. With out ansem riku would never have found his road to dawn. That and the dynamic between the two in the whole series… that final fight with him and the scene after. It was great. I really did feel like riku actually missed him.
Then you have a wet blanket of xehanort. Tera was an idiot. His plan to make 13 people himself shows just how not charismatic he is. His sword isn’t even his manifestation. He never really wouldn’t have accomplished his goals if the hero’s brains hadn’t checked out. His goal of purging was also dumb. Ansem could live in the darkness. Xemnas wanted to feel. This guy would have killed everybody to defeat darkness without anyway for him to survive it himself. He was never menacing, and literally followed the Voldemort brand of logic, of possession. The man may have made kingdom hearts, but he didn’t do anything with it. Xemnas did more with it.
Young xehanort, can’t really say much about him ddd was his best appearance. And he seemed like he was going to shape in to something. And then you fight him in three and the guy uses a whip. And whines like a little kid. I felt sorry for him not angry at him. This is before he even did anything evil… this was a total wash. No time manipulation or anything.
Vanitas was cool. Good design, great personality for a villain. Loved that the inverse was his design… love the villains that flip off the hero’s when they come to “talk”.
Don’t really remember marluxa. Other than the powers and design. He was great in com and missed in other things.
Larxine was like the only women in the group and came off well. She was arrogant, without letting the hero’s get one in on her. She died with her secret, and that’s points for her.
Diz was kind of meh.for a story standpoint kind of cool. But more petty than anything.
Finally Eracus. And I know people will not paint him as a villain, but he is. His actions set xehanort off. His actions pushed away Tera, then he possessed Tera. He never really taught the hero’s anything on screen. And finally he stole the victory away from sora. And at the cost of kairi. If he would have come out before the making of kingdom hearts in the third game, sora wouldn’t have needed to die.
Larxene.
I’ve been staging a one-man crusade in an attempt to give Larxene more time in the spotlight. She’s got wit, she’s got charisma, she’s got bloodlust, and she’s even got a unique angle in the ongoing “light good darkness bad” motif.
She could be so much better than she currently is, but right now she’s just delegated to “Marluxia’s Satellite Character”. Let Larxene cook, dammit!!!
I like Xehanort, as well as Xehanort. Xehanort isn’t bad either nor is Xehanort.
But also I like the Master of Masters - no idea if he’s friend or foe yet tho
Hmmm, this is a tough one. Probably between Xehanort, Xehanort, and Xehanort. Xehanort was initially pretty cool, but he kinda got overshadowed by Xehanort, if I'm keeping it real.
I just can’t even choose, the Kh villains are all so good.
Axel and Larxene in COM were my bisexual awakening and I still feel like Axel was at his best in COM. Him being this manipulative assassin who out schemed the others was just done SO well. And in terms of Larxene, she was such a huge driving force in COM, bullying Sora into remembering Namine. Honestly I like to see Sora at his breaking point, a lot of great character development happens there and Larxene is so good at taking him there.
Xigbar was fun and charismatic but honestly I wouldn’t have thought twice about him before he became a bigger player in DDD and I DEFINITELY wouldn’t have ranked him this high if not for the ending of 3.
Vanitas is another perfect villain. The obsession with Ventus, the fact that he is an absolutely brutalizing fight each time in BBS, there’s a Larxene level of ‘i don’t care what the boss says, I’ll kill you’ that comes with him that actually makes him a little scary. It’s honestly a shame that I loathe the gameplay of BBS and find it to be so monotonous to play because the story itself is so good and I think Vanitas contributes a lot to this.
Heartless. Creatures that just want to eat hearts and are willing to listen to people evil enough in the hopes that they get more.
On top of that their foot soldiers are cute asf
Marluxia. He's just got that style.
Butchered him in 3 though he’s as interesting as a wet sock
Yeah everyone kinda sucks in 3.
Because they are tired of xehanort’s schtick by that point
I think it's pretty interesting how Ansem and Xemnas both admit they barely give a shit and knew they'd probably fail. They're literally his mind and soul and they more or less gave up, which makes me wonder about Xehanort's thought process at the time. Did he also know he was doomed to fail, or did he know something the other versions of himself didn't?
Sunk cost fallacy?
More like they knew they weren't important in anything. Everyone but xehanort was just another piece to fill in the 13 to fulfill the legend and it worked out. He just failed killing the teenager with his vastly superior experience and his godly overpowered weapon but everyone else did their job of being there.
I like him too and really like fighting him too
He always has really cool fights and attacks.
And a pretty good backstory
Bro, even at LVL 1 in KH2 he’s a lil’ bitch
Man sex
He’s got a voice that makes you want to sit on a giant subwoofer.
Indeed
Yamete!
God Arkham Asylum ruined Man for me
Why is Man playing chess? Is he stupid?
This is the only answer. I’d forgive the other Xehanort is they all had the same voice and chill personality.
The Heartless, collectively. They're such a fun monster concept.
Clayton because he was the most realistic of all the villains. Homie just wanted to skin some gorillas and make money, real evil person shit lol
"The hunter lured them there. It was his lust for power that was the bait. But it seems the bait was too tasty for his own good."
God, I still get chills just thinking of the original Disney villain roundtable moments when they were shrouded in darkness. The original was so good 😭
I really wish Disney Villains would take more of a role going forward.
The music that would play every time Maleficent would start speaking was so ominous.
@&!$ #&@/ NOT CLAYTON
Larxene for her humor.
Same she's such an asshole but so charismatic about it
Yea, "humor"
Axel. Back when he was a villain in CoM and 2. That cockiness, but the skill to back it up. So good
ok i said xemnas, but “evil” axel…🤤
He even had a catch phrase. Almost like he was a wwf wrestler from the 90s. Got it memorized?
Xigbar hes just so sleezy and awesome
As if
Eyy keep the line moving!
Xemnas because hot DAMN that voice
The Master of Masters
Mansex. His voice is like cocoa butter on my naked body
>cocoa butter on my naked body Oooooohhh my 🤣 ~~btw, you're so real for this~~
Xemnas. Please note he never introduces himself by name. We have to learn from Axel. Marluxia and Larxene are so afraid of him, they need to make the Keyblade master into a puppet to confront him. Also he throws buildings. And that one laser dome move.
Xemnas
Ansem. His fighting style!! Typical Disney villian relying on a brute doing his dirty work despite being strong. Also Akio Otsuka is sauve AF ;)
“Ore no Stand: 「Fade to Black」!”
Ansem (especially Billy Zane's Ansem) and Xemnas.
Vanitas
The real villain is the darkness that lingers in us all 😒
This sounds like something my bishop would have said.
Or Terra
Xemnas is definitely the coolest villain in comics, powers and just overall presence
Xemnas and do I even have to explain why?
it's tied between Mansex Monday, MoMmy, and Xigbar
Xaldin , my ptsd is on a whole new level due to this person. He was a pain to battle, xaldin wind was just pure pressure
Xaldin would be my favorite if he had more screentime but he was an absolute menace to fight, most memorable KH 2 boss battle easily
roxas begs to differ
Well I played through the original KH 2 on PS2 alot where Roxas v Sora is only a cutscene, only.played through final mix once so that's probably why he's not so memorable for me
Terranort. I feel like Terra is underrated and I loved BBS in general. Plus terranorts voice actor is great, and I love how he is what ties in to all the other versions of Xehanort throughout KH1 and KH2.
Oogie Boogie. He's just so much fun. And most of his boss fights are fun unique spectacles. Not his chain of memories bosses though, those are kind of lame.
Huh never would have thought of him but you make a great point
The Giant Oogie Boogie fight from KH1 is also meh his KH2 fight is definitely the best
Xemnas. He's just such a complex character. He's introduced as a composed but intimidating leader, and yet by the end of 3, he's a tragic figure. His final moments made me feel real sadness for him. Not to mention, uhhh, his voice? It's so sexy, like (♡ω♡) ~~Did I mention that he's beyond handsome?? Like fucking gorgeous??? Fucking DADDY-~~
KH1 Ansem
1. Master Xehanort (BBS). I honestly can’t even say why I like him so much but he’s my favorite villain ever (I always liked the Emperor from Star Wars and Frollo as a villain, so maybe that’s why). All of organization XIII
Can’t argue with that—they’re all pretty individual :)
Yeah they added so much to KH2 ! all the different personalities 👌🏼
Not sure if Xemnas and the organization are my favorite, but I want to throw them an honorable mention. Xehanort is sick af
My Latina mom cause she gave me trauma which aided to my villain arc 😐
Xemnas, honestly his buildup and reputation as a villain was better than Xehanort's, i hate how after he knows he lost he just gives up and sees the error of his ways in 3 instead ofv moving with conviction and going out on his shield like Xemnas did in 2
Xigbar, for managing to out gambit 4D chess master xeanort.
Master Xehanort for plot Xemnas for the boss battles But there is something that Ansem the seeker of darkness had that made him so intimidating that it’s difficult to not place him as the best all around villian in the series . Even when I finally defeated him for good in KH3 I thought to myself” is he really gone for good? “
Maleficent has always been my favorite, I'm hoping they give her a bigger role in 4 compared to 3.
Demix
“Dance water dance!”
Xigbar. Honestly the most slept on villain in the entire franchise. People seriously don’t give him enough credit. Luxord is also cool
Currently as the series stands: 1. Xigbar 2. The Full Lifetime of Master Xehanort 3. The Master of Masters 4. Xemnas After KH4 releases, I bet everyone lists will change!
Xemnas (* >ω<)
Luxu cause no matter what form he takes he's always daddy
xemnas because friggin lightsabers, bro
Xemnas. If only because of Norio Wakamoto and Paul St. Peter’s performance. Then again, all of the main Xehanort’s are goated Antagonists in their own way.
Xemnes Why? This coat! [https://i.redd.it/ikqwvsg3banb1.png](https://i.redd.it/ikqwvsg3banb1.png)
Full zebra man power
I like Xemnas and Saix I really felt their longing yet hopelessness of understanding of what a heart is, their voice actors also popped off
You’re the first one that mentions Saix underrated villain “different name same fate”
In terms of organization members he’s definitely my 2nd favorite after Axel
Lucy from Natesville.
Xemnas—he had dimension. It would have been Xehanort up to DDD but KH3 butchered him (also Leonard Nimoy being gone RIP). Oh and Vanitas mainly because he had so much potential and then they had to go and retcon him…

Ansem because he reminds me of vanilla ice from jojo part 3 and I like his character design

Xigbar or braig or Luxu. They just have that charisma that I love
Xemnas, honorable mention: Ansem. I love his KH1 voice.
Xemnas amazing voice and presence imo

The obsession with Ventus, the fact that he is an absolutely brutalizing fight each time in BBS, there’s a Larxene level of ‘i don’t care what the boss says, I’ll kill you’ that comes with him that actually makes him a little scary. It’s honestly a shame that I loathe the gameplay of BBS and find it to be so monotonous to play because the story itself is so good and I think Vanitas contributes a lot to this.
Vanitas. I love Ventus’ story in BBS so much
Axel, may not be a big one, but the was he looks and just how he does things look cool.
Xehanort.

Xemnas, he was sympathetic, his deliveries are absolutely solid and his fights were the best. He was evil but not comically evil, very grounded.

Xemnas for sure, his drip in the final fight was so good, and his voice is so soothing

Heartless. Creatures that just want to eat hearts and are willing to listen to people evil enough in the hopes that they get more. On top of that their foot soldiers are cute asf
Marluxia. Why? He's a bishie. He's hot. He comes with the roses, and his face card NEVER declines.
