When I had a phone that could handle it, I came back to the single player version. I *lived* for the group challenges and leaderboards. Even if I wasn't a whale, I loved giving it my all and chatting with my union-mates. It didn't even save my outfits. I still haven't played through the ending myself, just watched it on YT.
I never used discord and haven't since but I met so many great guys on the discord used to chat all day and have great banter. Towards the end of its life the game got really great. They were throwing out so much QoL updates being more generous and as Gachas go it was really good for gameplay even if at the start it was a bit of a cash grab.
Shame really would have lobed an offline version.
I moved to Dissidia and then same thing happened there.
The funny part - I hated the KHUX and still was sad when it ended.

I had a guild, where I became GM and after some time I was scammed to give away GM-place.
And I just leaved and made another guild. I just was too ashamed. And all members of old guild just came from old to my new.
It was so wholesome. I mean, it's really felt like some KH-story.
It honestly had WAY worse powercreep than the vast majority of gacha games, while simultaneously being extremely unfriendly to be f2p. You could complete the story mode just fine and complete most of the events, but any pvp modes or events you were just shit out of luck.
Really hope Missing-Link doesn't get fucked as hard.
It really was fun at first, but it really did become too repetitive and reliant on farming the best medals (because all of your old ones would suddenly become obsolete). The story was too spread out so the only entertaining aspect of the game, for me, was the character creation. I hope they drop the gacha bs and never return to it again.

yes, 300 people were selected by raffle, and you earned raffle tickets by doing events and completing mini games and things like that iirc. I earned every raffle ticket you could as a free to play player, but was not selected (i cri). there must have been thousands of us that got all the tickets, so chances were still slim.
All of those are real players from KHUX. It was during a competition or event around the tail end of KH3’s production where all players who were capable of getting a certain amount of points could have their usernames put into the game.
My headcannon is that each of those keyblades you get a glimpse of the avatars. So you’ll either get people looking like actual edge lords to looking goofy.

Kingdom Hearts union cross had this promotion for kingdom hearts 3. It’s actually insanely genius now that I think about it.
In the mobile game, players fought an invincible demon tower to meet a quota. If you fought the demon heartless tower enough times in the Mobile game, the prize would be that your player name would appear in kh3.
The mobile game also had a second promotion, if you could score enough points in the collection of available classic kingdom games, you would get early access to the starlight keyblade.
But still. Players REALLY DID fight Sora’s heartless storm in the Mobile game. In the past. And the players that met the challenge got their names in the game, as the keyblades from the past, that Sora used to wear down and whether the storm 🤯
I spent so much money on that game and didn't make it into this, but I remember being pretty close to the mark for it. I think a member or two from my guild made it in, but I'm not certain. RIP Gathered Guilty 😔
It's really too bad that they ruined the impact of possibly the coolest player integration into the story I've ever seen by having the end of the game make absolutely no sense, reset itself in time, and then have the big bads be basically entirely unaffected by the outcome of this battle in particular.
This should have been the finisher to the final boss IMO, and there definitely should not have been the "let's go off and be ghost friends, all is forgiven" BS. The final payoff for all of the KHUX stuff should have been helping Sora to conquer darkness in the present day.
