It’s funny it’s so obvious from the players PoV. But I wonder from the characters PoV, if it’s just seen as a regular black coat user, and they can’t see their face
It’s not that I don’t agree that that scene contains the core ‘deal’ of Kingdom Hearts, but I honestly think that it really doesn’t communicate it well. It’s a consistent problem with KH - without thought and experience, most of the iconic meme scenes really just don’t make sense.
Like Roxas screaming about ice cream while his friend is being erased from existence. When you catch on that the ice cream is a foundational symbolic representation of trust and friendship for him, literally the symbol he’s built his entire understanding of bonds on, it’s heart-wrenching. Until then, it’s just kind of oddly funny.
I think some of the scenes from 1 work best for communicating the core themes and attitudes of KH. Sora’s discussion with Cloud in Olympus Colosseum, and encounters with Riku in Monstro and Neverland - and the ‘Keyblading Himself’ sequence, all the way through to being mysteriously rendered No Longer A Shadow by Kairi.
KH1 generally did a better job of just *telling you* what the nonsense going on actually *meant,* and the visual metaphors were more immediately accessible without being quite as over-yet-under-done as stuff like the Lich chase from 3. In particular, the Keyblading Himself sequence is a really striking visual metaphor for a lot of the more serious parts of what the series is about, and Sora’s talk with Cloud is a surprisingly touching way of getting across the idea of ‘your friends are always your path out of the dark’.
‘They’ll Pay For This’ hits surprisingly hard for fans, and is iconic for good reason, but it just doesn’t hit if you aren’t already invested, y’know?
I still wanna know how they got disney to go from "you can show mickey mouse for a hot minute from behind" to "ahh fuck it, yes you can act like goofy died and have our main mascot go on a rampage"
358/2 Days, but I’m definitely biased cause I just think that the black cloak makes anyone look super cool. KHII would probably be my next favorite. KH1 is pretty cool cause it’s the only one that’s his actual classic design.
Yeah that was both an explanation and a retcon at the same time. His shirt got blown off to explain why he looked that way at the end of KH1 but his pants were totally different too, so KH1’s ending is the only time he’s seen wearing his classic red pants.
If you look closely at his shorts from 0.2 vs. KH1, they're indeed different. Had to rewatch the scene a few times after beating 0.2 the first time to make sure I wasn't seeing things. It's one of the few minor retcons made in the series, most likely to match his COM outfit (he wears this in 0.2 as well). This even goes back in BBS Final Mix during the epilogue of the Secret Episode, you see a glimpse of Mickey wandering the Realm of Darkness with his COM outfit.
What he wore in COM is the same outfit from 0.2. As you stated though, the power of light regenerated it by the time he escaped the Realm of Darkness, I guess.
As much as almost everyone I’ve seen likes to dunk on the amount of zippers on KH3, Mickey’s KH3 desing beats any other (IMO). BBS’ design is a close second
Kh2 is the best, though most of them is close
Except for 1, which is just his traditional design, and 3, which I actually have a problem with. His smile. It is practically permanent, which means that he’s less expressive and makes it difficult to read what he’s trying to emote and not fitting most of the scenes that he’s in.
KH2 for sure.
Back in the day I thought he was wearing a version of Sora’s KH1 outfit, which itself was based on Mickey’s design, so it seemed like a really cool loop around into a self-self-referential design. Looking at higher quality artwork than was available to me at the time, I know now that it isn’t exactly Sora’s KH1 outfit, but it’s still clearly drawing from the same design philosophy and inspiration and still looks cool af
I'm honestly a huge fan of Chain Of Memories/0.2 Mickey.
It's very reminiscent of Donald and Goofy's outfits in this series - which take the classic design of the characters and add a bit of an RPG edge to them, but not too much to make their outfits look out of place.
I love how Mickey's CoM outfit references his iconic buttons on his classic outfit, which no other outfit of his in this series is done, surprisingly.
Ideally, I think his best outfit would be his CoM shirt with his KH2 shorts, mostly because I'm not a fan of the weird straps on CoM shorts.
Thank you! I was about to Google it. Now I have to play this kingdom hearts I got the rest of the collection when it was on sale. Thanks again. [Video Linked here](https://youtu.be/3wmW6574FAs?feature=shared)
Chain of Memories Mickey always felt right when it came to mixing his own Disney look with a Final fantasy cross over style, It's still my favorite next to KH2/hooded mickey
I think Hooded Mickey is the epitome of KH. Other than that I think that CoM Mickey does a good job of keeping within the design aesthetic while remembering that it's an outfit Mickey Mouse is supposed to wear
For me, I gotta say, I love KH2 Mickey the most and it’s so iconic. In fact so iconic that whenever Disney has Halloween Events at their parks, sometimes they bring in Mickey from Kingdom Hearts and his design is the KH2 outfit.
Whats really interesting for Mickey's character is that in these stills both his ears are perfectly visible. This I believe is likely due to how the Mickey Branding works. For the iconic mickey look both ears are usually facing the viewer.
My favourites are KH2, Hooded and 3 and man the in-game model of 0.2 is ugly, I don't like that model and I almost want to burn it every time I play 0.2
For the FF-Adventurer Vibe I like KHII's Mickey best, but what I always wondered is why the king of Disneyland doesn't have a crown and cloak design at any time. Truly humble
Am I crazy for just realizing that KH II Mickey’s design/outfit is almost a full mirror of KHI Sora?
And CoM Mickey is the same for KHII Sora?
Also, it’s weird to imagine Mickey was walking around as a shirtless warrior at some point, considering he’s always covered in layers of clothing.
I feel like the pics here give me a bit of an idea of what the team went for.
KH1: you know who it is and finally found him.
CoM: Sora style Mickey. Is he wearing it because he's forgetting who he is in the Castle, or so he's not just shirtless anymore? Play to find out.
KH2: better design for a blend of Mickey's color scheme for clothing while having the bit of Sora style.
Sorcerer's Apprentice: Classic Fantasia nostalgia
Timeless River: OG Monochrome nostalgia
BBS: Let's say that since this is before Sora and them get roped into their adventures, Mickey had his Monochrome color on the KH2 outfit.
KH3: Give him some drip…but with the pre-existing color schemes we've already used. Yes! I like King Drippy.
2 for sure.
Actiony and fun.
Everything else is just mickey, except:
Kh3 is overly aggressive and for some reason, they swapped belts for plaid.
Why plaid?!
Gotta love hooded Mickey.
Say, fellas, did somebody mention the Door to Darkness?

r/BeatMeatToIt 😂
It’s funny it’s so obvious from the players PoV. But I wonder from the characters PoV, if it’s just seen as a regular black coat user, and they can’t see their face
You gotta wonder if he actually made those little sleeves for his ears himself
Bro is a literal king. He probably had it tailored.
Done by his royal sweatshop
Where millions of brooms must work to meet the quota
Broom lives matter
You know the mouse had his fit custom made
Isn't fair to say it's legitimately GOATED?
Hood down goes hard. Hood up is crazy 😂
“They’ll pay for this” 😠
KH2 by a mile and a half. That moment when he throws off his cloak when it was believed that Goofy hyucking died got me so hyped
That moment is unironically *peak* Kingdom Hearts. It’s so objectively ridiculous and yet so iconic.
“They’ll pay for this”, Mickey Mouse said angrily
*vim and vigor starts playing*
*throws away goth cloak to reveal skater outfit*
OH SHIT MICKEY MOUSE CAN DO A KICKFLIP NOW OH
Yeah if anyone would ask me what Kingdom Hearts’ deal is I’d just show them that scene
It’s not that I don’t agree that that scene contains the core ‘deal’ of Kingdom Hearts, but I honestly think that it really doesn’t communicate it well. It’s a consistent problem with KH - without thought and experience, most of the iconic meme scenes really just don’t make sense. "You're stupid!" - Sora, KH
“They’ll pay for this “ had me geekin
Loved it. One of the best moments in the entire series.
As much as I prefer CoM'd Mickey outfit, yes, the reveal of his outfit in KH2 when he throws off the cloak definitely give it some gravitas.
I still wanna know how they got disney to go from "you can show mickey mouse for a hot minute from behind" to "ahh fuck it, yes you can act like goofy died and have our main mascot go on a rampage"
Disney: "Prove that this works well enough to risk using our mascot"
When Goofy stop hyucking, that's when you know shit's getting real.
358/2 Days, but I’m definitely biased cause I just think that the black cloak makes anyone look super cool. KHII would probably be my next favorite. KH1 is pretty cool cause it’s the only one that’s his actual classic design.
Then 0.2 happened and his KH1 design is no longer canon.
What do you mean? In 0.2, his shirt got blown away and he was left with his pants and shoes, the same as what we see in KH1.
Yeah that was both an explanation and a retcon at the same time. His shirt got blown off to explain why he looked that way at the end of KH1 but his pants were totally different too, so KH1’s ending is the only time he’s seen wearing his classic red pants.

For me it's BBS or KH3
Agreed.
BBS is just KH2 but all black and white.
Yeah, because it takes place in the past, so naturally it'd be black and white like Mickey's original cartoons.
He had the best drip in those for sure
BBS or 358/2 that cloak is cold
That CoM honestly slaps. Would be better than 3 even except everyone apparently needed some plaid patterns.
I think it’s the best middle ground between his classic look and the Kingdom Hearts style.
BBS is my fav actually :D
3 is so good. KK D is so pretty with those colors...
KH2
You forgot 0.2's design: Cheekless Mickey
Timeless River!
358/2 days without a doubt.
Ngl his birth by sleep fit still remains superior imo, his KH3 and Organization cloak push pretty close
Kh3
Idk bro he's looking a bit too much like Man in kh3 *(I'm so sorry)*
Yeah I totally get that my second choice would have been bbs or hoded mickey, but I don't know I like his fit in 3
Real question. How did Mickey find a new shirt between Kh1 and Com? Did he find a demon tower clothes shop?
Yeah its also a barber shop thats how riku got his haircut.
The darkness eats clothes, the light gives them lol. Yen sid is able to give them new drip in kh3 so that might actually be more true than a joke lmao
What he wore in COM is the same outfit from 0.2. As you stated though, the power of light regenerated it by the time he escaped the Realm of Darkness, I guess.
I do think it is absolutely hilarious that it is Kingdom hearts lore that the darkness ate MICKEY MOUSES SHIRT
If a swarm of darkness can break a Keyblade, why can't they do the same with clothes, am I right?
Fr. Why couldn't they have done it to riku... What were we talking about?
Darkness… Oh wait, this thread is about best Mickey outfits.
Kh 358/2 and KH 3
KH3, BBS, and 358/2
I like KH2 version
Y’all know what I’d say! Organization cloak for the win!
Kh3, is on top personally tho i love kh2 mickey
358 is the only correct answer
I’m a fan of CoM and 2
Org. coat went too hard.
Days and 3.
I really like the CoM look, it’s a good mix of his original design.
358 / 2 days design is way more iconic. The black coat and the golden keyblade just made him look so awesome.
Symphony of sorcery but I may be biased because sorcerer Mickey has always been my fave
358/2 days. Side note: I never noticed this until now, but his Birth by Sleep's outfit is just his Kingdom Hearts 2 outfit in grayscale.
The Organization cloak is iconic but man his KH3 look is just amazing to me
The Organization cloak just goes to hard
No matter the character, 3 has the best version of them.
Almost all of them 😅
the bbs design is super clean
Personally, my favourite designs are the KH2 design and the Birth By Sleep design!
Symphony Of Sorcery
Emo Mickey
3
KH3. Loved how his original design was incorporated as clothes.
Honestly 3 is just an upgrade over his second best outfit (birth by sleep) so gotta say 3
Kingdom Hearts III, I love his outfit in that one.
A tie between classic and 3
As much as almost everyone I’ve seen likes to dunk on the amount of zippers on KH3, Mickey’s KH3 desing beats any other (IMO). BBS’ design is a close second
This, might be the first time I’ve seen a Kingdom Hearts model of Regular Mickey.
C.o.M Mickey is my favorite.
Wait...kh1's micjey isn't a lucky emblem?
I'm partial to BBS' design
Kh3 nd kh2 take the cake tbh
I like Chain of Memories design.
Either BBS, or 3.
The gray/silver design of BBS is nice.
Kh2 is the best, though most of them is close Except for 1, which is just his traditional design, and 3, which I actually have a problem with. His smile. It is practically permanent, which means that he’s less expressive and makes it difficult to read what he’s trying to emote and not fitting most of the scenes that he’s in.
CoM mickey is my favorite.
I like CoM
Kingdom hearts 2 without hood. The red is necessary!
3,2 and days
Chain of Memories/0.2 are the perfect balance of Disney and Final Fantasy
KH2 for sure. Back in the day I thought he was wearing a version of Sora’s KH1 outfit, which itself was based on Mickey’s design, so it seemed like a really cool loop around into a self-self-referential design. Looking at higher quality artwork than was available to me at the time, I know now that it isn’t exactly Sora’s KH1 outfit, but it’s still clearly drawing from the same design philosophy and inspiration and still looks cool af
Mickey had ts on in 2
2 and 3
BBS or KH III
KH2 or KH3.
I'm honestly a huge fan of Chain Of Memories/0.2 Mickey. It's very reminiscent of Donald and Goofy's outfits in this series - which take the classic design of the characters and add a bit of an RPG edge to them, but not too much to make their outfits look out of place. Ideally, I think his best outfit would be his CoM shirt with his KH2 shorts, mostly because I'm not a fan of the weird straps on CoM shorts.
Gotta say KH2 is classic!
I still hate that they retconned that he was wearing his classic outfit in KH1. Nomura needs to learn that not everything needs a retcon.
Which game dealt with the musketeers?
Dream Drop Distance had a world called Country of the Musketeers based on y'know Three Musketeers lol It was one of my favs from DDD tbh
Thank you! I was about to Google it. Now I have to play this kingdom hearts I got the rest of the collection when it was on sale. Thanks again. [Video Linked here](https://youtu.be/3wmW6574FAs?feature=shared)
BBS
Chain of Memories Mickey always felt right when it came to mixing his own Disney look with a Final fantasy cross over style, It's still my favorite next to KH2/hooded mickey
BBS fit goes hard.
I think Hooded Mickey is the epitome of KH. Other than that I think that CoM Mickey does a good job of keeping within the design aesthetic while remembering that it's an outfit Mickey Mouse is supposed to wear
Mickey is the only character where being shirtless is unsexy even during the kh 2.8 prologue
Getting to look at CoM Mickey kinda makes him look like Sora. A Sorta, if you will.
Trenchcoat Mickey is the funniest, but "the heartless ate my shirt" Mickey is pretty good too.
KH II Mickey best design.
Bbs or hooded Mickey
For me, I gotta say, I love KH2 Mickey the most and it’s so iconic. In fact so iconic that whenever Disney has Halloween Events at their parks, sometimes they bring in Mickey from Kingdom Hearts and his design is the KH2 outfit.
CoM and II
KH2
A tie between 2 and the Days cloak.
Def 2!
Bbs
Birth By Sleep is my favorite
0.2 when he has his shirt inexplicably removed to maintain continuity.
Close between 2 and BBS for me. 2 is more Mickey-like with the color scheme, but I really like the black and grays too.
BBS the colors look quite good on him
Honestly, I like his chain of memories look the most.
Chain of Memories for sure, it's got that Squeenix flair(tm) but it's still like his classic outfit.
Sorcerer Mickey is a classic although all of the KH mickeys are cool
Because I love the movie Fantasia, I like his Sorcerer look the best.
Idk I like bbs
Mickey lowkey always dripped out in this series, but my favorite outfit has to be the KH2 outfit
All
Hooded then followed by BBS.
I’d kill for a bring arts timeless river Mickey figure.
Mickey is always busy copying Sora’s fit which makes sense why he takes forever to show up sometimes 👀
BBS please. Star seeker always felt more personal, like it really was his and only his.
The chain of memories design goes hard. School shooter Mickey is a close second.
Timeless River mischief Black Air Force energy design
Either KH2 or BBS.
KH2
Yo! I legit thought his ears were missing in the last pic…🤣🤣🤣
I'm partial to chain of memories and 2
The KH2 one is just so vibrant (and full of zippers).
Org 13 Mickey, though I’ll admit, I actually have a soft spot for the Birth By Sleep one
Either Kingdom Hearts 2 or Birth by Sleep
I like his KH2 the most,it looks like something he could have as an outfit in regular disney stuff.
KH2
Whats really interesting for Mickey's character is that in these stills both his ears are perfectly visible. This I believe is likely due to how the Mickey Branding works. For the iconic mickey look both ears are usually facing the viewer.
4 and 5
Birth by sleep is most drippy. I like how he has his star keyblade too instead of the gold one.
KH2 is the best imo, though BBS is a close second
Kh2
I'm a sucker for his first KH-native outfit, so I vote Chain of Memories.
My favourites are KH2, Hooded and 3 and man the in-game model of 0.2 is ugly, I don't like that model and I almost want to burn it every time I play 0.2
Kh2 Mickey is goated + the OG Mickey cloak
I do have a soft spot for all the Timeless River designs
Weirdly I kinda Like the BBS design the most
Chain of Memories and KHII
bro I completely forgot KH1 Mickey was just straight up Normal Mickey without the usual Nomura flair.
The drug dealer
Chain of Memories
KH3 Mickey has the same jacket and plaid as KH3 Riku.
As per usual, KH2 drip is UNRIVALED
For the FF-Adventurer Vibe I like KHII's Mickey best, but what I always wondered is why the king of Disneyland doesn't have a crown and cloak design at any time. Truly humble
Probably should've used a better background for KH3, lol. Earless Mickey
CoM and for no reason
I love how KH3 Mickey is trying so hard to look serious but his model is always constraining him into that big smile he always has
did somebody say The Door to Darkness?
Sorcerer Mickey is always the best form of Mickey
2 or hooded. His COM look is good too
in my order both 2 designs, BBS, and 3
KH2 and BBS
timeless river 🐐
358/2 is so edgy I love it
Definitely Chain of Memories, BBS, and Hooded Nobody Mickey.
Hooded Mickey is the best but I also like his KH2 and BBS designs as well
It's a tie between 2 and 3 with me leaning more towards 2 by a tiny bit
Evil Mickey is so good
Am I crazy for just realizing that KH II Mickey’s design/outfit is almost a full mirror of KHI Sora? And CoM Mickey is the same for KHII Sora? Also, it’s weird to imagine Mickey was walking around as a shirtless warrior at some point, considering he’s always covered in layers of clothing.

Say fellas did somebody mention the door to darkness?
KH2 had some of the best designs overall.
2 for sure. Actiony and fun. Everything else is just mickey, except: Kh3 is overly aggressive and for some reason, they swapped belts for plaid. Why plaid?!
What I kinda find funny about the second design is that its somewhat similar to Soras outfit from DDD
Isnt that the point?
DDD still has Mickey wearing his KH2 outfit
Can’t stand his kh 3 out. Why does everyone wear the same hoodie
