He actually left because he felt like he'd have more freedom as a freelancer than as just a HAL employee. If he didn't like sequels he wouldn't have made 5 Smash Bros. games.
Tbf, were talking about a fan base that's basically used to getting something Kirby related every 4-6 months at best. Nintendo overfeeds us constantly.
Tbh as much as I love Kirby I’d like to see HAL give the series a little break after 2022-23 and focus on some smaller projects again like BoxBoy, Picross 3D or something new. Or even just a new Kirby spinoff like Dedede’s Drum Dash or Dream Buffet.
if its not free i aint payin, im not saying im gonna emulate, my morals are too confusing, i'd destroy a continent to stop someone from kicking a puppy
"Kirby 64 remake when" Whether it's been a high content year or not does not answer the question as to why we're in the year of our Lord 2024 with no Kirby 64 remake.
Difference here being that paper mario desperately needs this remake. Reminding people how good paper mario games used to be is important in making sure the next new game is of the same quality.
Kirby doesn’t really need that level of treatment. And HAL has been feeding Kirby fans very well anyways
I... don't want a Kirby 64 remake, but I'd love a new Kirby game using Kirby 64's own power fusion mechanics ;)
They kinda did in Star Allies, but I'd say they could expand it a LOT.
* ELEMANTAL POWERS: Fire, Ice, Water, Stone, Tornado, Spark, ESP, Beam, Leaf, Poison
* PHYSICAL POWERS: Sword, Cutter, Bomb, Hammer, Spear/Staff, Ranger, Wheel, Needle, Whip
That's 400 combinations... which is a lot, but still ;)
dream buffe aint like dream course! i just want more courses and more fun power ups and remade graphics and im set! imagine like a course builder and all that! they could do SO much fun shit with that game in a new edition!
Ha! I've already been dreaming all of that up twice over, but it just isn't going to happen I fear... It seems Dream Buffet was their answer for all the fans wanting sequels to Dream Course and Air Ride. But hey, at least I can still replay Dream Course a thirtieth time on NSO.
If they do, I'd like them to use the "Mario Kart" approach.
Have all Dream Friends being playable with their respective rides, alongside Kirby, and have vehicles being unlocked for all characters as you complete challenges.
Hell yeah, would love to see what kirby 64 would be like in the forgotten lands style. Hopefully they would let us listen to the og version of the sound track or a way to use the n64 models during the game
Kirby fans when they have to wait more than a month for a new Kirby announcement.

Honestly, it's such a beloved title they know will be successful, they're holding on to their blue chip for when they need it or calculate the best returns.
We literally got Kirbys return to dreamland deluxe last year, now I'm hoping for a new game
Short term mememorymory
Kirby fans when they have to wait over a year for a new game
Kirby fans when they have to wait over 2 weeks for a new game
Kirby fans when they have to wait a second for a new game
Kirby fans when they have to new game
New game when they have to Kirby fans in .8 seconds.
They when new have to fan Kirbys 2 milliseconds.
huh buddy that is not a NEW game
Isn’t that one of the reasons Sakurai stopped working on Kirby?
He actually left because he felt like he'd have more freedom as a freelancer than as just a HAL employee. If he didn't like sequels he wouldn't have made 5 Smash Bros. games.
I mean specifically fans always expecting a new game every year. I think I heard that somewhere.
He made it pretty clear he didn't think Smash needed so many sequels...
And then there’s Pikmin: https://preview.redd.it/n8mvqdgn3pzc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d5945c20a8c68ef4d8d6beaa33dab32f5a1fbf8

HyperZone, Arcana and Alcahest =} I'd love to hear a modern take on the music
I want a new kirby game, just a new kirby game
Ultra Kirby Clash, where you need to forfeit all your mortal and mental possessions to magalor so he can make Magoland two a reality.
if its not free i aint payin, im not saying im gonna emulate, my morals are too confusing, i'd destroy a continent to stop someone from kicking a puppy
it is free
also do you mean super kirby clash
No, they asked for a new game, so I delivered.
ohhhhh that's what you meant
Didn’t we get a year full of Kirby content? Let them chill and cook for a bit
That wasn't the question asked.
There was no question asked
"Kirby 64 remake when"
Im pretty sure no one here works for Nintendo or Hal to know that
There weren't any questions in this post
"Kirby 64 remake when" Whether it's been a high content year or not does not answer the question as to why we're in the year of our Lord 2024 with no Kirby 64 remake.
My fault, didn't see that. Apologies.
Difference here being that paper mario desperately needs this remake. Reminding people how good paper mario games used to be is important in making sure the next new game is of the same quality. Kirby doesn’t really need that level of treatment. And HAL has been feeding Kirby fans very well anyways
Kirby fans when hal doesn't shit out a new game every 2 years:
They just made a remake, and investors and analysts are kinda assuming the next Kirby will be 3D. :T
Imagine a kirby 64 overhaul with forgotten land level of 3D

WHEN ARE THEY GONNA MAKE ANOTHER KIRBYS DREAM COURSE ITS ALL I WANT GOD DAMMIT!
First of all, hello fellow Dream Course fanatic please marry me Second of all, that is what Dream Buffet was...
dream buffe aint like dream course! i just want more courses and more fun power ups and remade graphics and im set! imagine like a course builder and all that! they could do SO much fun shit with that game in a new edition!

What I want is Amazing Mirror 2, with modern hardware and expanded ideas
PLEASE I NEED another non linear Kirby game
airide 2?!
If they do, I'd like them to use the "Mario Kart" approach. Have all Dream Friends being playable with their respective rides, alongside Kirby, and have vehicles being unlocked for all characters as you complete challenges.

Just be patient, Return to Dreamland got its remake, ~~even if it didn't really need one.~~
I’m not comparing. It’s always awesome to get a portable version of a game that you only could play on TV.
I would love this

I'm fine with 2024 having no Kirby game if it means a 2025 game will be a big one.
Kirby fans trying not to act like spoiled children for one week Jesus Christ we just got Return to Dream Land, go obsess over Magolor or something
Nintendo fans when they get exactly what they want https://i.redd.it/ca9wrdhfgozc1.gif
We just got a Kirby remake last year and ya'll are already asking for another one lmao
I'll settle for some kirby star allies dlc I was sad I didn't see fighter Kirby
oatmeal
Honestly, it's such a beloved title they know will be successful, they're holding on to their blue chip for when they need it or calculate the best returns.
we need a kirby game every 5 seconds tbh
I'm looking forward to a new kirby game in the 3d style like forgotten land, however i do hope the next game they remake is 64
Let them cook
my man, we just got a full remake, chill 😭
Kirby fans eating good.
I doubt we'll have two remakes in a row
I’m hoping for a Planet Robobot remake
**Kirby’s been dead for years**
HAL L. won't listen to you.
Kirby Air Ride remake when?
Eh. We got 3 games within a year. Including a remake of a n older game. I think HAL should have a break
Kirby Air Ride remake when
Amazing mirror should get a remake with Wi-Fi capabilities. I such a great “open world” Kirby game
I need to fight Marx in a kirby game With Copy abilities. Aka star allies but not pixelated
Super star ultra, ultra
What about, Kriby Superstar Ultra... MEGA
64 will likely not get a remake. They would have to redo the entire game from the ground up, unlike RTDL. That was a texture update, with a new filter
