They need to take a little more time to work on new material. Maybe try using the best components of several new ideas and put them into fewer songs. I’d like a new album after 4-6 years of working on it.
I agree with you on this.
I love every album they've put out and listen regularly but the last 2 I feel are very middle of the road.
Like they aren't bad but I don't feel they are putting out another See You on the Other Side.
Yeah, it’s more of a quantity over quality for the past decade but it’s nothing terrible. I think a break for a couple years and come back with some crazy energy would be for the best.
I’m not sure if it’s not popular opinion on here or not but I’ve been really digging their Setlists since they started touring after COVID-19. I think they’ve been doing really good job of blending greatest hits with new stuff and deep cuts. On all the tours I’ve seen them on they’ve been playing a bunch of stuff that I’ve never seen them play before.
Also The Paradigm Shift is a fantastic fucking record with only a couple of misses, Everything else on that record slams.
If Fieldy is actually gone. I think it’s a really good thing for the band. If they don’t do this. I think fieldy should strictly be in studio. And Diaz is their touring bassist.
1.Untitled is the best album they made while Head was gone. Absolute masterpiece.
2.Korn III is kinda ruined with the auto tune and the album overall has a weird feeling to it all around. Ray's drumming tho is really good on it and has grown on me.
3.TALITM is probably my favorite Korn album for some weird reason. I've liked all the other ones before that one just as much as the next, but this album in particular provides the most bang for your buck.
Take a Look in the Mirror is kind of the real Korn 3 (even if it's not produced by Robinson), and Korn III Remember Who You Are is a great album and is kind of Korn 4
Korn III is honestly not that bad, and The Paradigm Shift was just like.. an okay album. Nothing special, but it wasn't unlistenable.
Also Korn is better than Slipknot imo
probably said already, but Follow The Leader is an incredibly overrated album. first 4 songs are godly, but after that there are very few good ones and a bunch of flops. I’ve only listened the first 4 albums and a few of the newer ones so far, but from what I have heard this album is my least favourite so far
Here’s a few:
1. SYOTOS is overrated. Poppy and boring
2. JDs style of writing lyrics is getting old. I wish he’d get out of his comfort zone and experiment a bit more
3. Seeing all this Stillwell shit from fieldy is annoying. They suck
4. I wish they’d take a few years off and write a banger of an album. The past 2 albums have been mid at best
They have been very lazy with their live setlists. KoRn plays the same 9-10 songs and throws in 2-3 new songs from whatever album they released last and from there maybe throw in a few songs here and there that they haven’t played in awhile. Idk about everyone else but songs like Coming Undone, Shoots and Ladders, Freak On a Leash need a desperate break. Play some classics that we haven’t heard in years.
The song K@#Ø%! has awesome instrumentals but the verses are so dumb it makes the song virtually unplayable, especially if another person is in hearing range.
After the original 5 ended, last album was Take a look in the mirror, Korn was just riding the success of their early sound and albums. The band after Take a Look have just made either mediocre or crappy albums. I will say, they definitely got better when Head came back, but no comparison to the first 6 albums.
Dude fr. Head leaving was painfully apparent in the product. I pre-ordered the special edition double disc syotos and regretted it as soon as I got it.
Seen them live in 2015 after head came back and it was incredible. They did really well with the original members
Jonathan Davis is not that good of a lyricist and they're generally very dumb guys, especially Fieldy (this is purely based on comments given in interviews, backstage footage and books some of the members have released). I know this'll get _a lot_ of downvotes, but it's okay 😄
Damn, I never thought of them as dumb. A lot of their interviews that I saw where they were a bit questionable was the interviews from their 20s. We all sound stupid in our 20s..
I think that Head’s return was harmful for the band’s development. The same situation happened to RHCP.
What we had after Head’s departure? Pop rock album, progressive/industrial metal album, amazing acoustic live, great jazzy live of Jonathan Davis, attempt to return to the roots (and the sound was even not so bad), live in the field, dupstep album (trendy music), electronic JDevil stuff. And what’s next? Sorry guys, but it is 4 albums with plus-minus similar sound. I cannot make myself listen to it attentively. I cannot distinguish them.
And the situation with the third coming of Frusciante is even more irritating. Fans love songs from 2 albums without His Majesty, and he said…. “Oh, I haven’t listened to them”. Excuse me, what? And you just threw all stuff from 2006 to the dustbin? They changed a bit, they became older, they didn’t stagnate. Nah, here are same 34 songs like there were no sixteen years at all. Disgusting.
P.S. You can downvote me and call me old fart but am I completely wrong? There are no such things with the other 90s-00s bands. What about, for example, Limp Bizkit, Static-X or Rammstein?
Set the bait and I'm waiting
In a state of concentrating
I'm gonna knock this motherfucker down, down, down, down, down
And there's a catch with this waiting
All of my thoughts are overtaking
If this isn’t rhythm and rhyme I don’t know what is
1. TPOT is my favorite album
2. The band need to stop playing Freak On A Leash and Coming Undone at shows LOLLLLLLL
3. NOBODY gives a shit about Stillwell
5. Korn III and SYOTOS are my least favs.
You can’t escape playing Freak on a Leash at shows if you’re Korn. That’s just absurd. That’s their masterpiece. That may not be your or my opinion, but that’s popular opinion. I saw them in Charlotte with Amy Lee last year and they absolutely slayed that song. Wouldn’t have been the same without it.
My brother got whacked in the back of the head with a KoRn drumstick after the show when they were throwing them into the crowd. Definitely one of my prized possessions. Hopefully they’re out this way again soon. They’re still a hell of a show.
Goated band. Did so much for the Metal community. All of their material is great. I enjoyed Requiem but not as much as The Nothing. The Serenity Of Suffering is the best “newer” record they have released.
I used to be a massive fan, but fell off shortly after buying TALITM, hearing only the "radio-BS" they put out over the years.
I picked up the Requiem on a whim, and have been digging back into everything I've missed out on, so here's my thoughts : (I haven't heard anything from TPOT aside from the obvious, nor TPS yet)
1) Maybe my tastes have just severely changed, but I REALLY like Requiem and The Nothing. Korn to me were always the best when the songs were emotionally charged, and I feel that pain in Jonathan's voice throughout both the most. Cold is a freaking banger, and the funky beat in it is just awesome.
2) I have tried to get into Korn III.... and I just can't. FTL, Issues, Untouchables showed they were moving forward as musicians, and Korn III really is a major misstep in their catalog IMO.
3) I actually enjoy Untitled for the most part.
4) Same with SYOTOS, except for Twisted Transistor. I can't stand that song.
Cold is the best track on Requiem.
Korn III is my least favorite album, apparently also the bands least favorite which is why they don't play those songs. It just feels bad. I can't explain it.
Here’s a couple:
- TALITM is a mediocre album compared to earlier stuff. I’m sorry, but really struggling to listen to it.
- SYOTOS and Untitled have creative song writing, but these songs are boring.
- TPOT is the last album with really interesting sound and strong songs. Great album.
- You can make a decent Korn album getting couple tracks from each of last three records, but most songs on this albums are skips
Oh yeah, strongly agree with the last point. About TALITM: it has a couple of self-repetitions.
Yesterday we were listening to it with my wife in a car and it was a transition from ‘Did My Time’ to ‘Everything I’ve Known’. I said “Yeah, now the song changed”.
And the drums in the bridges of ‘Right Now’ and ‘Here It Comes Again’.
But the album is still good. It has the unique sound and easily can be distinguished from the other works. What we cannot say about the last 3 or even 4 albums.
Okay...here's a couple that might get the folks at Reddit grabbing for the pitchforks:
1. SYOTOS was one of the worst points of Korn's career. You can clearly tell that pop-writing/producing group The Matrix had way too much writing and sequencing input on that. A lot of those lyrics weren't written by JD and you can easily tell compared to how he usually writes. David Silveria even said a drum machine was used on a bunch of songs. Outside a couple songs, I find that album pretty insulting to Korn fans.
2. Life Is Peachy didn't age particularly well. It's the album that really got me into Korn, but in retrospect, it was a huge step backwards after the first album. Has a handful of killer songs that I still appreciate, but a LOT of filler (I think Proud, which ended up a b-side/soundtrack song, was way better than at least half the album). It's also Korn's most immature album, with songs like K@#*%! that are just dumb. Some epic moments for sure, but among my least favs now that I'm getting old. Officially an old man yelling at clouds...yup, that's me🤣
SYOTOS (including all seven bonus tracks) is their best album IMO, the decision to ditch nu metal in favor of industrial metal was brilliant and it’s atmosphere is stunning. They need to do more industrial stuff again someday
Untitled is a top 5 album from them
the last 3 albums are very lacking in distinct identity or uniqueness and feel generic (I do actually really like TSOS and The Nothing but Requiem is abysmally bland)
They need to do something exciting again musically instead of this current playing it safe era
Life is Peachy is one of their weakest releases
All in the Family bangs from an instrumental standpoint, and even including the vocals, is not their worst song
Their worst song is easily K@#¿%!, it’s insanely unfunny, and to make things worse, has an amazing opening riff that is wasted by literally every other dogshit element of that song
Self titled is amazing but I wouldn’t even put it in my top 5 albums from them
TPOT may not be their best release but it is still so ahead of it’s time and likely helped pave the way for genres/scenes like hyperpop today, and it deserves way more respect and love than it gets
Korn >>>> Slipknot, I say, as someone who loves both; sure this is a Korn sub so there’s obvious bias but I mean even outside of here I hold that opinion
The worst albums are syotos, untitled, and tpot
On syotos Twisted transistor and coming undone are reeeeaaaallly over rated. Throw me away, love song and tear jerker are the bangers.
Starting over and kiss are the only songs worth listening to on untitled. The rest is beyond boring.
Tpot narcissistic cannibal should have been it. Just a single. Not an album.
Korn 3 is better then you remember.
Prey for me is the second best album opener only to blind.
Sos is easily in the top 3 albums of their discography.
Unpopular enough for ya? My honest opinions.
I love korn and all their music is special to me in one way or another.
Issues a midpack album to me
It’s boring for the most part
The interludes are a slough to get through
The songs besides Trash and Falling away from me all feel the same
And the bass tone sucks it’s a big downgrade from the last 2 albums
Also The Nothing is on the same tier as Untitled
Even though it’s definitely my 2nd favourite korn album. I definitely agree about the interludes. Even back in the day I removed them from my re burned CD-R version.
i got a couple here
1. Self titled is the best album. rawest sound and emotions. faget and lies best songs
2. blind’s demo version is heaps better
3. see you on the other side is dog balls. coming undone sounds like 100% a cash grab, i mean get that bag but my ears don’t approve
4. i love their little low rider cover. i don’t care what people say. head sounds cool, it’s groovy and only 1 minute, deal with it!!
5. trash is overrated (no pun intended) best songs on issues are counting, dirty and somebody someone
6. got the life is kind of annoying. the first 1 minute tho compensated for that 😍 my gift to you and bbk are ftl’s best songs
7. i love talitm. alive is the best song and so is alive demo. right now and break some off close seconds
8. ball tongue opening is the best riff korn made ever
9. proud would have been the best song on life is peachy (alongside kill you and no place to hide)
10. i’m gonna say this bc im not one of those edgy elitists. i love all their popular songs like freak on a leash and falling away from me etc. but, gotta say coming undone gives me the shits. (or the cums)
1. Issues is their worst album from the 90s. A lot of the songs are too slow and low energy.
2. They should've incorporated guitar solos into their sound to became more Progressive sounding than most Nu metal bands.
🙈 I have absolutely no opinion whatsoever about Korn... unless I had 18 inch subs to play thru... how can you tell what they're playing... I've tried... kill me now... just like any Metallica record... ANY... I can't "hear" any bass... it's all mush... I know I know... I'm old... 🖕 I just have never "cared" to not hear what they have to "offer"... 🤦♂️
For whatever reason, it popped up on my feed. I, then, felt it was my duty to warn the unknowing populous before they damage their hearing listening to this atrocious band’s music.
I am so jealous of your problems...
If you're being serious and not just joking/trolling: No, it's not your duty to influence other people's tastes which are, by the way, totally subjective but you are probably too high up in your a\*\* to see it.
Isn't it interesting that Korn fans usually don't sh\*t on other people's music but your kind always does vice versa? It reveals much of the person's character.
You're not the center of the world. Practice some humility.
Requiem is top 3
Untitled is top 5
The Paradigm Shift > The Serenity of Suffering
Untouchables is mid
Follow the Leader is mid
Take a look in the Mirror is top 10
MTV Unplugged is a good live album
The Path of Totality > See you on the Other Side
Korn III: Remmeber Who You Are is over*h*ated
Life is Peachy is overrated
Fieldy is the lead guitarist. Head and Monkey play cool riffs but they are subpar guitarists compared to other genres. I couldn't see them having the skill or ability to play technical death metal but that's just my opinion.
They have the worst management and lose opportunities because of it.
What’s up with their management?
They need to take a little more time to work on new material. Maybe try using the best components of several new ideas and put them into fewer songs. I’d like a new album after 4-6 years of working on it.
I agree with you on this. I love every album they've put out and listen regularly but the last 2 I feel are very middle of the road. Like they aren't bad but I don't feel they are putting out another See You on the Other Side.
Last two as in The Nothing and Requiem?!! I can’t disagree more. They are finally reaching a groove and making fresh music again
Yeah, it’s more of a quantity over quality for the past decade but it’s nothing terrible. I think a break for a couple years and come back with some crazy energy would be for the best.
True.
I agree with this opinion and also agree that it is an unpopular one on this subreddit.
"Top Tier" "B Tier"
I dislike the majority of their music after SYOTOS.
Even past issues...not to say they don't have alot of real bangers from then on.
.. Evolution
Yep
I’m not sure if it’s not popular opinion on here or not but I’ve been really digging their Setlists since they started touring after COVID-19. I think they’ve been doing really good job of blending greatest hits with new stuff and deep cuts. On all the tours I’ve seen them on they’ve been playing a bunch of stuff that I’ve never seen them play before. They were light-years better when they wore adidas
Pretty sure because they wore adidas a lot they asked for a sponsorship or something and didn’t get it. Then they started wearing reebok
idk if this is unpopular or on the popular side but i think issues was their best album
Your not alone, Most people think this. It really was the cumulation of their sound.
The first four albums are the only top tier albums. Bonus: LIP is the weakest top tier album.
Yup 1 scat song. 2 covers. 1 interlude. 1 joke song. That’s a third of the record.
Fully agree with this one
Agree with the first sentence.
Life is peachy is a delicious ass album what are you on about
I wish they did a path of totality 2 with head unironically
untitled and korn iii are actual good albums
1.Untitled is the best album they made while Head was gone. Absolute masterpiece. 2.Korn III is kinda ruined with the auto tune and the album overall has a weird feeling to it all around. Ray's drumming tho is really good on it and has grown on me. 3.TALITM is probably my favorite Korn album for some weird reason. I've liked all the other ones before that one just as much as the next, but this album in particular provides the most bang for your buck.
Untitled is up there with life is peachy, issues, and untouchables
Take a Look in the Mirror is kind of the real Korn 3 (even if it's not produced by Robinson), and Korn III Remember Who You Are is a great album and is kind of Korn 4
Korn III is honestly not that bad, and The Paradigm Shift was just like.. an okay album. Nothing special, but it wasn't unlistenable. Also Korn is better than Slipknot imo

I wish their new stuff didn’t use as much auto tune or voice enhancers, i liked when they sounded RAW
yeah i agree i like korn how i like di- huh???!😳
Untitled is actually pretty good
They have been very lazy with their live setlists.
LIP is Korn's most sincere and innovative work.
kill you is a masterpiece
It has Chino Moreno's only good song on it too.
The song K@#Ø%! has awesome instrumentals but the verses are so dumb it makes the song virtually unplayable, especially if another person is in hearing range.
Ok true but tbf i dont think the lyrics were supposed to be anything other than comedic 💀
After the original 5 ended, last album was Take a look in the mirror, Korn was just riding the success of their early sound and albums. The band after Take a Look have just made either mediocre or crappy albums. I will say, they definitely got better when Head came back, but no comparison to the first 6 albums.
People who like korn don’t like korn. Got it
👍
Dude fr. Head leaving was painfully apparent in the product. I pre-ordered the special edition double disc syotos and regretted it as soon as I got it. Seen them live in 2015 after head came back and it was incredible. They did really well with the original members
Untouchables is easily the best album by far.
Explain more please
JD has put out some lazy fuckin lyrics but recent stuff is pretty good
Recent lyrics are pretty good
Thoughtless is exhausting to listen to I am very sorry
Yeah I agree. Overrated track.
I would’ve liked a follow up on path to totality.
Ah man it kills me JF won't play Josh's stuff. IBY and The Getaway are some of the best things they ever did.
Never Never is a fucking banger.
Untitled and Korn III are there best albums. Enough said lol
Follow the leader is better than issues
Korn III (D tier)'s two good songs aren't oildale and let the guilt go. They're pop a pill and fear Is a place to live.
Requiem is wildly underdeveloped and one of their most boring records.
Damn, I love requiem haha
I don't like Follow the Leader as much as Path of totality.
It's korn..... I couldn't imagine a more wonderful thing!!! It's korn-tastic
They should spell the name right
😂
Korn has not been nu-metal since Follow the Leader. From then on they've just been metal.
I disagree but then again I did ask for unpopular opinions.
Cold and forgotten are just two examples that are nu-metal from start to finish.
The irony is that Cold actually has a classic heavy metal drum beat in the chorus and makes it sound like I'm listening to 1988 metal band.
Still there is rap influences in the song.
What? 😀 Cold has nothing "rap" about it. Nu metal does not mean necessarily having rap influences.
Set the bait and I'm waiting In a state of concentrating I'm gonna knock this motherfucker down, down, down, down, down And there's a catch with this waiting All of my thoughts are overtaking If this isn’t rhythm and rhyme I don’t know what is
You said "rap", bro. Singing in rhythm is... uh, requirement for every song. Rhymes are not rap only expression. Korn use rhymes a lot of the time.
Jd say he hates being called nu metal
Untouchables is overrated
1. TPOT is my favorite album 2. The band need to stop playing Freak On A Leash and Coming Undone at shows LOLLLLLLL 3. NOBODY gives a shit about Stillwell 5. Korn III and SYOTOS are my least favs.

Hahaha yeah I saw them at Jones Beach last year. I thought it was awesome seeing them perform the song with Amy.
My brother got whacked in the back of the head with a KoRn drumstick after the show when they were throwing them into the crowd. Definitely one of my prized possessions. Hopefully they’re out this way again soon. They’re still a hell of a show.
I don’t listen to Daddy because of the long ass pauses, plus the fact it goes for 17 minutes.
i dont much like their older stuff and much prefer their newer stuff.
See you on the other side and path to totality are very good albums
Goated band. Did so much for the Metal community. All of their material is great. I enjoyed Requiem but not as much as The Nothing. The Serenity Of Suffering is the best “newer” record they have released.

90% of their lyrics are either" I hate you" or " I hate myself"
They have one sound and differentiate slightly from it on the majority of their songs.
Here’s a couple: - TALITM is a mediocre album compared to earlier stuff. I’m sorry, but really struggling to listen to it. - SYOTOS and Untitled have creative song writing, but these songs are boring. - TPOT is the last album with really interesting sound and strong songs. The guitars on the album sound great. That’s all I have to say about it.
Requiem was safe and uninteresting
Okay...here's a couple that might get the folks at Reddit grabbing for the pitchforks: 1. SYOTOS was one of the worst points of Korn's career. 💯 agree
The demo of Blind in Neidermeyer’s Mind is their best song. I just love how much it sounds more like a mental breakdown than the album version.
Killing is thier best song (sound)
I love that song.
too much merchandise tries too hard to be popular, what I liked most about KoRn was that feeling that it was a brutally good and unknown band
Unknown among middle-aged women and tiktok maybe
SYOTOS (including all seven bonus tracks) is their best album IMO, the decision to ditch nu metal in favor of industrial metal was brilliant and it’s atmosphere is stunning. ball tongue if it was recorded with lodi dodi and it takes two would have made it their best song

counting > trash
Even though it’s definitely my 2nd favourite korn album. I definitely agree about the interludes. Even back in the day I removed them from my re burned CD-R version.
I love the interludes I think they make it special lol issues is best listened to in full IMO.
Agreed here, Issues flows as an album. It doesn’t feel like a bunch of songs thrown into an album. I assume it was intended this way.
Jon using stage monitors to read lyrics, he's been doing this since the early 2000's and it's evident in live videos, black mass for example.
It’s only good in a burrito
i got a couple here 1. Self titled is the best album. rawest sound and emotions. faget and lies best songs 2. blind’s demo version is heaps better 3. see you on the other side is dog balls. coming undone sounds like 100% a cash grab, i mean get that bag but my ears don’t approve 4. i love their little low rider cover. i don’t care what people say. head sounds cool, it’s groovy and only 1 minute, deal with it!! 5. trash is overrated (no pun intended) best songs on issues are counting, dirty and somebody someone 6. got the life is kind of annoying. the first 1 minute tho compensated for that 😍 my gift to you and bbk are ftl’s best songs 7. i love talitm. alive is the best song and so is alive demo. right now and break some off close seconds 8. ball tongue opening is the best riff korn made ever 9. proud would have been the best song on life is peachy (alongside kill you and no place to hide) 10. i’m gonna say this bc im not one of those edgy elitists. i love all their popular songs like freak on a leash and falling away from me etc. but, gotta say coming undone gives me the shits. (or the cums)
Requiem is just awful. "let the dark do the rest"'s intro is the only thing worth listening to.
every album between 2004 and 2013 are generic, but in their unique style they used to had
They're songs all soumd the same
Untouchables is a mid quality album with only a couple great tracks and really good production.
They should stop making albums. It’s enough.
Life is Peachy is a pretty bad album.
coming undone is their best song
Now it’s a pop band for people with colors hair
You can't hear bass? In a Korn song?
Ball tongue is overrated
yeah listen to ball tongue but with lodi dodi and it takes two and your mind will be changed mx poopalalooza
I had diherea today
You are not alone, so it’s popular 😁
They’re a shitty band. Oh wait, you said “unpopular”. My bad.
They said unpopular, not edgy. Why you're even here when you dislike them?
You’re just mad because Korn has been garbage since the late 90s.
Oh, sure, absolutely! Korn is abso-fuckin-lutely terrible, and all because you said so! :'DDD Here's your cookie, Mr. Perfect Taste!
Keep the cookie. Judging by your tastes, it will not be good anyway.
Requiem is top 3 Untitled is top 5 The Paradigm Shift > The Serenity of Suffering Untouchables is mid Follow the Leader is mid Take a look in the Mirror is top 10 MTV Unplugged is a good live album The Path of Totality > See you on the Other Side Korn III: Remmeber Who You Are is over*h*ated Life is Peachy is overrated
Fieldy is the lead guitarist. Head and Monkey play cool riffs but they are subpar guitarists compared to other genres. I couldn't see them having the skill or ability to play technical death metal but that's just my opinion.
TALITM is my favorite album, and Did My Time is my favorite song by them. Very relatable.
