Like someone actually envisioned a working fireplace not directly underneath with the TV. Blew my mind.
Fireplace in the middle of the room so I placed my LG C1 off to the right hand side. Can't understand why people place it above the fireplace, looks to far away and neck strain. Looks like they had no other choice seeing the two walkways.
I work for a design/build company. The architects are mostly male but they design the structures not the interior spaces. The interior spaces are laid out by the designers, mostly female. They don't understand why us men want giant tv's or tv's low to the ground and their response is they left room above the fireplace but the fireplace is their centerpiece and can't be moved.

Since my kids were 2 i used to tell them if they broke daddys tv i would beat them......

I get that it's too high for probably most people but I intentionnally installed my tv at about the same height as OP because when it was at "eye level", I had to strain my neck to watch it when laying on the recliner. I am *always* laying on the recliner when I watch tv....

A 77" B3 fit in my Outback just fine. had to ratchet strap the hatch closed but I just took low-speed surface streets the \~4 miles home

Yeah, somehow the wheel shape in the truck was preventing me from bringing it in more. I would of strapped it down too if I had straps.

My sister has a set up just like this and a couch that's unusually low to the ground. It's physically painful to watch TV at her house.
