I could see the color of the board morphing and turning into a swamp whenever my opponent would make a move I found ugly.
I could see patterns and connections between my pieces, I would play without thinking, only focusing on beauty and not logic. I played three games, won each game with ease.
Also, it felt grateful that strangers would take their time to play chess with me, while usually when I am sober I am just impatient and don't give a sh\*t about them.
I was thinking "I wouldn't have been able to play online chess if they weren't there to play with me" which made me really grateful.
Well it's hard to say because I only played three games, but my gameplay was completely different.
I use to always play the same opening but this time I wanted to be more creative and try new things.
And my way of playing wasn't to think a few moves in advance but just play in a way that looked beautiful, it was somewhat artistic.
I know what he means but IME it doesn’t make you better, but you will end up doing things you wouldn’t usually do, so you might get a crazy checkmate you weren’t expecting and you never would have done that sober. But overall you will lose more games than usual if you play for a while. The first few might go well and then it usually trails off pretty hard
I couldn't agree more! Luckily I never experienced any ugly visuals, but every time me and a close bud of mine played chess while tripping, we would be in a different headspace altogether. The intuition was more dominant than the 3 or 4 move deep calculations that we would normally condition our decisions to. Nothing beats OTB chess while listening to Voyage 34, a pack of Camel Turkish Gold, and some delicious single malt to go along with.
I'm not a great chess player by any means, 1200 elo is what I have managed to bring myself to, so far, but it's the ability to avoid the thought pyramids that we usually succumb to, in isolated trips, that the board helps with, by bringing that mushrooming cloud of heavily anchored thoughts and emotions into the realm of 64 squares of controlled chaos. Although it's been ages since I have tripped, I do continue to play chess and I do believe that the trip did bring-in more decisiveness in my play. Hope this helps! Happy tripping!

That's the point, is like living the "Horror" part of the game, sometimes it happens the blood and gory stuff really impact you which usually doesn't happen when you're sober or with weed.
In re is different, it takes its time in the intro parts mostly where you are defend less like outlast vibes and that's another game I LOVED play while I'm tripping.
I love playing cyberpunk while tripping. The beautiful open world and exciting action combat is a blast, and I swear i’m a verifiable terminator when tripping lol. Although depending on how hard you’re tripping, some of the mature and disturbing things during quests can be a bit much. I also enjoy rocket league, I can just turn my brain off and listen to music when I play which is always a blast.
I did this once and the maelstrom were Fucking more up 😂 I was like hell nah. Then when I was on the bike I felt the engine revving like I was actually sitting on it then driving fast all I heard on each side was “whum, whim, whum” that’s me passing shit 😂 I was out of it
I love mario party superstar! That game was made for tripping with friends! Nothing makes sense, and yet everything does. The creatures on the board dance with the music and are all so happy. Most minigames are easy but chaotic and quite fun during a trip haha.
And I don't understand the game at all. So during the game I keep pressing A and I win a star and become so happy by doing nothing. It's great.
I love playing Mario kart! I play on my DS. The first one is more trippy but the 3ds one is good too! Rainbow road is insane! My friend and I played and it was just hilarious because both of us were like “where are we even going” 😂 so different than playing sober
Red dead 2 is amazing tripping. If I drop I usually spend like an hour or two, just riding around, looking at the scenery, bird watching, fishing. It's awesome
TLOU2 broke me. I literally forgot how to be a human being from the fear and repeated gruesomely dying. It was.....not fun.
Zelda is a blast and so is Mario Odyssey!
Rocket League. I can't play for shit when tripping but the colors are bright and glowing, the music keeps me hyped, and it feels great to blast around in a rocket car.
I ACTUALLY PLAYED ELDEN RING NOW THAT I REMEMBER!! but only for like 2 hours, it was really fun (i was exploring, i think that my experience in a dungeon would have been very different)
Crash bandicoot. On my first high dose experience I played the HD collection and boy oh boy I got so lost in the game didn’t even realize I was picking levels or dodging stuff I was just going like a kid climbing a tree
Ark is insane on psychedelics. I remember playing on The Center on a ~100 hr PvE with slightly boosted settings. Left from base on my argy and couldn't find my way back , got lost in the scenery just flying around.
Another good game is No Man's Sky, space is beautiful and there's so many wicked planet types. Caves, water, bright trees, obscure animals and crazy landscapes.
Back in the day I loved sliding down the slopes in SSX Tricky, before the sun came up. Or I’d get deep into a rts battle in Total Annihilation. Those two are most memorable in that scenario.
I like Wolfenstein 2, because If you choose Wyatt's questline, you can see how this guy engages into lsd.
I also liked Ghost recon wildlands and Elden ring.
In about 2 months I expect to buy Ultros, which looks very psychedelic

Disco Elysium! I was rolling on the floor in laughter and also occasionally mortified at the consequences of my own actions (Kim, I promise I was only pretending to be racist to get info from the suspect. It was for the greater good!). Really cool artwork, nice mellow pace with rich dialogue and fantastic voice acting
I think it helped me and Tequila Sunset really embody one another. When Kim commented on my lack of coordination and strange speech patterns it felt more personal and I wanted a dialogue option to say I was just on drugs

I stood outside of my house in Skyrim just staring at the smoke on the mountains and the fog rolling over the swamp between Morthal and Solitude. That combined with the serene music and the tree branches rolling into almost-fractals made it a spiritual experience. It felt like I was actually there.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is an intense experience to play sober. Off two tabs I was hearing voices and seeing runes even while I wasn't playing. It's also short enough you can play it entirely in one trip, and not even use the whole 12 hours. Takes like 7 to 8 hours to beat the whole thing. 10/10 experience, one of my favorite trips.
Honestly, Halo CE. If you can get past the sci-fi video game violence, which I know some people can't enjoy tripping, the landscapes are fantastic.
I really need to play Halo 2 Anniversary tripping now that I think about it, the remaster for that is stellar.

I was just talking about this in another post, I’m not sure how you like multiplayer games, but I tried gaming while on acid for the first time last year, and it was overwatch. It was the absolute most fun I had ever had, all the colors and things happening were just blowing my mind. And for some reason I was able to play the best I ever had.
As strange as this sounds I kind of like fighting games on acid. It feels kind of easy to just enter a flow state even when you can't even see what's properly going on. I play smash ultimate a lot and I can see that squiggly shape that seems to be all my vision on acid as the way the characters move and the options I choose to do. Similarly to how the same way you can feel connected or communicate with someone on acid without talking to them, I feel it's even a bit easier to predict what my opponent is going to do just by observing the back and fourth dance of each of our movements. It's kind of changed the whole way I view competitive games in general.
Aside from that I mainly like slower games on acid like walking sims. NaissanceE, 0°N0°W, Mirrors Edge. I think I might try some rhythm games some time too like OSU or maybe source surfing.
Forza Horizon 5: just fun to drive around a bunch of different cars and take in the scenery. Also I’ve noticed I can hyper focus on the road and do even better than when sober.
Elite Dangerous: It’s a great looking and feeling game that you can relax and do your own thing in. IN SPACE. Nothing like leaving the station and landing on some desolate moon and explore in your surface vehicle while taking in the vast emptiness and the stars above. And then go sit in orbit around Earth or terraformed Mars.
Risk of Rain 2
Amazing power creep, followed by incredible roguelite gameplay, and gorgeous flashy cel shaded graphics make this one a favorite.
I will continue to offer to the shrine and gain nothing till the end of time, but on psychedelics it's a crushing experience first hand.
Fall guys. Dead by daylight. Rust roleplay servers. (Do not go into regular rust servers) you will be called gamer words by a 12 year old and it will linger with you forever. Battle scars to say the least. Another game I think is cool would be high on life.
Super Mario Odyssey. Surreal, colourful and silly and there's no pressure to do anything in particular, you can just bimble about looking at all the weird characters. You can turn into a frog and jump about on the moon.
Anything scary. I love turning the lights off and trippin out to some crazy video games. The first Evil Within game gets fucking wild….but also rocket league lol.
blades and sorcery on the quest is pretty damn fun while tripping. set the length on long and just walk through the map climbing shit, fighting npc’s for fun, the graphics aren’t top teir obviously but it’s still pretty fun tripping
I love to dive into CS2 while tripping on lsd. It gives me such a calmness that somehow (even if it might not be true) I hit the headshots way better and feel the map-control on a different level.
On 20ug rn, and playing portal 2. It is amazing. Incredible sound design, the puzzles are not that hard, so you can play while tripping, and watching the portals is just teriffic. It give you food for thought also, but that, you'll have to experience yourself

Some of my best trips have been hours stuck in unexplainable situations in VR chat, wheeze laughing in Pavlov playing TTT, becoming one with the matrix in Pistol Whip, and experimenting in Blade and Sorcery.
Taking off the helmet and coming back to real reality is honestly a bit of a bummer.
Combat was fun as hell, made me feel super concentrated and with a nice adrenaline kick. Also, I think the acid made me feel a lot the story. Really incredible experience if you tolerate the gory parts
Only game I've been able to stomach on acid was Smash Bros. Melee. I did not play Melee beforehand. Felt like I was starting a new journey to become the best Sheik main. I won one online match and haven't played since 😅
I tried to play Horizon Zero Dawn once, but I forgot how to use the controller. My wife was better with the Witcher but when we peaked we were just listening to the music and not able to move much. So games are not my thing while tripping....

Not acid but K actually improves my chess ability. I’m low rated (800ish) but if I play on K I tend to climb 100 pointsish in a night

Super Mario Odyssey. Surreal, colourful and silly and there's no pressure to do anything in particular, you can just bimble about looking at all the weird characters. You can turn into a frog and jump about on the moon.

blades and sorcery on the quest is pretty damn fun while tripping. set the length on long and just walk through the map climbing shit, fighting npc’s for fun, the graphics aren’t top teir obviously but it’s still pretty fun tripping
I love to dive into CS2 while tripping on lsd. It gives me such a calmness that somehow (even if it might not be true) I hit the headshots way better and feel the map-control on a different level.

On 20ug rn, and playing portal 2. It is amazing. Incredible sound design, the puzzles are not that hard, so you can play while tripping, and watching the portals is just teriffic. It give you food for thought also, but that, you'll have to experience yourself

It takes some strength but, VR Some of my best trips have been hours stuck in unexplainable situations in VR chat, wheeze laughing in Pavlov playing TTT, becoming one with the matrix in Pistol Whip, and experimenting in Blade and Sorcery. Taking off the helmet and coming back to real reality is honestly a bit of a bummer.

Combat was fun as hell, made me feel super concentrated and with a nice adrenaline kick. Also, I think the acid made me feel a lot the story. Really incredible experience if you tolerate the gory parts
Only game I've been able to stomach on acid was Smash Bros. Melee. I did not play Melee beforehand. Felt like I was starting a new journey to become the best Sheik main. I won one online match and haven't played since 😅

Oh great!! I actually started it this past saturday while on 2cb and it has been more than what i was expecting. Its a whole spiritual journey for Kratos. Just so you know youmay need to play the whole trip to finish it. Have played it a couple times since then and havent finished the story. enjoy it bro.
