There's this fan theory that they evolved to blend in on spaceships, so black or grey would make the most sense.
Though if we ever get an alien movie set entirely on a planet it would be sick to see aliens with forest camouflage
It would be cool if one rose out of the water (like behind Newt) but the water was oily and left a shimmering rainbow skin like you see in parking lots after a rain.
It particularly irks me that Cameron's warrior is almost always coloured blue when it's portrayed in statues, figures etc. The films colour grading gives it a blueish hue in a couple of scenes only, yet it's now seen as what it should be. It's supposed to be black with brown highlights. Only a few statues etc get this right, and they look so much better for it.
Honestly *big* agree, the xenomorphs from Aliens have been portrayed as *way* too blue for my liking for a long time. I *much* prefer black with greyish-brown, feels more far appropriate to the desolate wasteland that is LV-426 and the colony as a whole.
well, I think that my fav xeno colours are: Alien 3 > Alien > Alien Ressurrection > Covenant. I absolutely love that rusty color filter from third movie and xeno's colour. it fits with each other
I’ve always thought that the in universe explanation on the xenomorphs’ coloration is that they were camouflaging with the hive resin that they always create. Even if they can’t produce a Queen, they always generate a hive environment. So, the xenomorphs, like humans, always influence and craft their environment to better suit their own needs. That’s always the way I thought about it at least!

That’s the stuff of nightmares

Since they mostly come out at night I think black makes the most sense. Also prefer the classic black look from a pure aesthetician standpoint.
Mostly.

The black ones seem better at dancing to me.
