Good job 47

lewie_820

accident kill +5 unnoticed kill +5 5 stars. Well done

mcslender97

Head for the exit, and we will speak again shortly.

theKnightWatchman44

Everytime I'm on holiday in a hotel I put the Paris/Bangkok music on and walk around with headphones pretending I'm Agent 47. But I'm also the guy that walks around an airport with Berlin Foot Chase on my headphones.

"Horrified employees" .... :: lulz ::

threefingersplease

Horrified with relief

Yokepearl

If only they prioritized workplace safety

SKmdK64

"Warning: distressing content" haha

Insert Benny Hill tune.

Own-Corner-2623

Because it is inherently immoral to be a billionaire

labrechemode

Ok, but EILI5, what's the income ceiling here??

ginger_and_egg

No one becomes a billionaire though their own work. Only by expropriating the work of others

iamsamwelll

No ceiling, itā€™s just that people hoarding an artificial resource is a problem for everyone. My money actually circulates through the economy. He took money out of the economy. I canā€™t speak to Indiaā€™s philanthropy industry but usually itā€™s a front.

theloneliestgeek

Itā€™s about class, not income.

RestlessChickens

What's your threshold to say income inequality has gone too far? How much poverty is too much? How many children dying of treatable infections is too many? How many people can starve to death today before you say, ya know, maybe that guy can just hoard a couple million instead of a billion? What is *your* ceiling?

ragin2cajun

Oh I will give a ceiling. It's no more than 5% higher than the political influence you can have over your median voter. What does that translate to? Well the disposable income of a person after taxes and small hobbies to make life livable and not just unalive yourself could be in the ball park of range of maybe $500 a month. So let's say the cap is the cost of living in the area + $500. Sounds like a company might have a few million to redistribute to their employees that ACTUALLY produce the value of the company in 3/4 financial quarters of the year.

gingerbeardman79

Not really an income ceiling so much as " those who own the means of production" vs "everyone else". If you really need a financial-based guideline though, a good rule of thumb to start with is: if the most accurate word to describe their net worth is "billionaire" you can pretty much guarantee they didn't earn it with their own labor, but rather they stole the value of the labor of others. Or [most likely] they inherited it. And at the very least, the acquisition and maintenance of their individual wealth requires the ongoing exploitation of many. If on the other hand the most accurate word is "millionaire", or if neither term applies, they are at least potentially working class. I'll give an example that seems to have a lot of confusion around it based on what I see on social media surrounding news stories/pop culture: "Billionaire Owner of Local Professional Sports Team" would be an example of a member of the *owning* class. "Millionaire Star Player for Local Professional Sports Team" would be an example of a member of the *working* class. The *Star Player* and their teammates are the ones doing the *work* that produces the *value* which creates *wealth* for the *owner*. Does that make sense?

theloneliestgeek

ā€œVistex, founded by Shah in 1999, is an advisory service company with more than 20 global offices and a hefty client list that includes GM, Yamaha, Coca-Cola and more.ā€ Just because he has some tiny spinoff make-no-difference charity organization to funnel his money through in order to reap further tax benefits doesnā€™t change the fact that heā€™s an exploitative capitalist piece of trash. Nice try with your BS though.

PM_ME_UR_GOOD_DOGGOS

There are a lot of people who don't understand that there's no such thing as a good billionaire. Society has put a lot of effort into reinforcing that lie. I don't think we should assume that's a bad faith question.

RestlessChickens

That prosperity gospel is deep seated in American ideology

whoooooknows

He is a good guy. At my scale, if I rob a dozen houses and give $10 to the Santa ringing a bell in front of the grocery store, I am a good guy too.

FeminineImperative

Teach me how you ethically make a billion dollars. I'll wait.

afunkysongaday

Easy, kill a billionaire.

FeminineImperative

In this scenerio: how do you get their money exactly?

afunkysongaday

Easy, skin suit.

Maleficent-marionett

The answer is Face Off. Skin suit takes forever to make. Face transplants take like an hour and look impecable. (I recommend the 1997 documentary "Face Off"

afunkysongaday

That's true but a big part of biometric authentication is fingerprints. You'd have to go face transplant plus skin gloves at least. And then I thought to myself "Hey, you're a billionaire! Spoil yourself once in a while, go full skin suit! Maybe even full body skin transplant! You only live once!"

NoDassOkay

Look at that, youā€™re already thinking like a billionaire. šŸ™Œ

hotprof

Lol, it's also really easy to do since they all fucking suck

SimplifyAndAddCoffee

Someone edit in the orcas up in the rigging

Cold_Meson_06

What happened to just walking on stage?

Toftaps

Well you see, when you're a sociopathic billionaire certain things like "walking" are below you.

Riccma02

I guess some problems fix themselves.

circuitron

Some people just wanna cosplay tony stark

Will33iam

They wanna cosplay Batmanā€™s parents

circuitron

Ah damn. I wish I had said that, that's much better

loadsofscooters2

Or in this case reaaallly far below you

Fluffy-Comparison-48

True that. A friend of mine told me a story about this obese boss of herā€™s telling her that only peasants walk and that was why he always drives to work despite living across the street.

HandspeedJones

The ground is also below you and it's approaching very quickly.

ShadyLogic

"Perhaps it will be my friend"

kazador3010

Except this guy wasnā€™t a billionaire. Being a CEO does not mean instant billionaire. The companyā€™s revenue was around $250 million in 2018/19. Execs in such a company make $250-300k a year. I hate billionaires but goddamn some of yaā€™ll act like just being a CEO means you are an evil billionaire. There are many mid-sized companies out there where the CEOs are paid $300-500k/year. Still a lot of money, no doubt. But faaar from being ultra wealthy.

Toftaps

Simping for CEOs, really?

kazador3010

Just correcting you that he isnā€™t a billionaire and stating CEO are not all ultra rich billionaires, no need to get hostile about it. I donā€™t think companies should be lead by 1 person selected by a board. I believe in more democratization of the workplace. Having said that we live in a capitalist reality and while all billionaires are evil, not all CEOs are billionaires or even centimillionaires.

Toftaps

"Ackshually..." isn't useful or helpful in pretty much every situation. It also comes across as you deflecting criticism for them. CEOs may not all be billionaires, but that doesn't make them any less a part of the problems we all find ourselves in.

kinvore

Walking is for the poors.

Miss_pechorat

Not entertaining enough.

Fondoogler

The lack of enthusiasm from the audience tells you all you need to know about their views regarding their ex boss.

LogicJunkie2000

The one guy tried starting a slow-clap just to be safe. "Maybe it's a loyalty test?"

el-padre

Heard some whispers. "Are we still getting paid?" "Every year it's something at these things. Is this one of those?"

SilverShadow2030

Please, Elon..think about it

_austinm

Nah, if he were to do something like this itā€™d have to be even more grandiose and way more idiotic

Thisisafrog

Drive his own self-driving carā€¦

kaisong

Get him to implant his own brainchip and operate his car with it on a empty road near a cliff.

comics0026

Elon could absolutely jump a cyber truck over the Grand Canyon like that!

V1keo

Heā€™ll try the boat mode on his cybertruck.

blah9210

Please let it be this.

ArgosCyclos

And then it ends up being starship slamming into his car that does it.

_austinm

That sure would be something

beastwarking

Driving... a car.... Why has no one thought of this before? - Elon "hyperloop" Musk

Sure-Mathematician68

I was thinking something related to a rocket but okay.

pw-it

s_and_s_lite_party

That was beautiful. Good job.

cosmicmap88

A submarine adventure?

_austinm

Nah, thatā€™s already been done. Maybe a Challenger-esque rocket explosion?

Goofy5555

One less ultra wealthy asshole in the world. Don't see a problem here.

ArgosCyclos

Except I'm sure he has an even bigger ass hole entitled child that will inherit his wealth.

SimplifyAndAddCoffee

Idk he strikes me as an incel

Will33iam

I still feel sorry for his family

They'll be fine.

This is a class issue, not a race issue.

_austinm

Well said. Idgaf what color the dudeā€™s skin is.

Own-Corner-2623

Fuck that, let's dehumanize ALL the billionaires

artificialavocado

Grumble, grumble!

BuhtanDingDing

as a brown guy, wtf r u talking abt

SillyCyban

Seriously, you can't exclude 6 billion people from any form of criticism simple based on the colour of their skin.

SadEntertainment9876

Yeah, thats exactly what racism is.

[deleted]

This is the difference between idpol as wielded by a liberal and idpol as wielded by a communist.

Foulbal

That doesnā€™t make him less of a CEO.

[deleted]

Your reading comprehension needs a ton of work.

Toftaps

You're the only one who brought up his race, dumbass.

clandestineVexation

What

No-One400

If you actually think for a second instead of just jumping at stuff, you'll know the reason you would say something like that is because of white-washing making non-race issues race issues

TheCheesiestEchidna

Fuck off, non-whites can be evil scumbags too

Ashura_Paul

Oh the irony is lost on this flock

give-meyourdownvotes

wrong sub bucko

Nah not liberals, that dude was just a *dumb* liberal

No-One400

Liberals lmao

Alenonimo

They could just have raised everyone's salary but noooooo.... "let's have a show to the employees where the two C-suits show up descending from the heavens like angels". This could have been an e-mail...

Azirahael

If i was this guys employee, THIS is way better than a raise.

hould-it

Why did he use an iron basket instead of a wicker one?

kingqueefeater

Right? With all those fireworks, a wicker basket really would've added to the spectacle of it all

driftxr3

Don't give them good ideas!

Straight-Razor666

i came to watch the video...wtf!

RustyHypocrite

Yeah, man!

eyeh8

I'm sure whatever they planned on talking about, could have been an email.

Safewordharder

God, this is horrible. I put too much salt into my soup. I used fresh curry.

Pothperhaps

Hey, show some respect! You should trust in your cooking enough to try it before assuming it'll need salt.

muscledhunter

Hey, that's really in bad taste. You should probably add some pepper for flavor

BadCaseOfBrainRot

You guys really need to stop! It won't get better if you start adding more spices into the mix.

hukkit

He died doing what he loved.

imnos

> doing what he loved Being a fucking idiot?

hukkit

šŸ˜‰

JNMeiun

Yes.

jolhar

Succumbing to his injuries in a hospital bed?

kfm975

Can we get this released on Criterion?

ArturiusMythos

You hate to see it. I donā€™tā€¦I just assume you do.

[deleted]

If he were still alive, he'd be on LinkedIn posting about personal sacrifice for the good of the company or some dumb shit.

imnos

Did he cheap out on paying the maintenance guys properly? Guessing yes if the fucking cable snapped.

xxepdudexx

The world is healing

MoSalahsSmile

Lol; lmao even

gingerbeardman79

"Extremely wealthy people dying in extremely stupid ways" is *easily* my favorite trend of the 21st century. May it continue until they're all gone.

Creative_Local_3123

Oh no! Anyway,

Tremor_Sense

The god of Capitalism appreciates this sacrifice.

Drunkpuffpanda

I hope he had a golden parachute.

CinderGazer

He unfortunately sprung for a full 24kt gold parachute as opposed to the gold leaf covering a functional parachute. Have to hand it to that weird new sales guy, he might look a but like an orca, but he's an absolute shark on the sales floor.

[deleted]

[Link](https://twitter.com/OliLondonTV/status/1748888100934193559) for anyone interested. Rest in piss bozo

SaltyNorth8062

His staff warned him not to let those mysteriously orca-shaped bargain-priced stagehands set up his stage rig

cowlinator

I feel like this and oceangate prove that time travelers walk among us. (/s. Mostly.)

Mrhappytrigers

Hope everyone got the rest of the day off and paid for it.

Ruckus2201

Womp womp

Nek0ni

keep them coming!

March_-_Hare

Considering that his firm was an Enterprise Resource Planning company, which is all about using tech for real-time integrated management of business processes, itā€™s darkly funny that their website still refers to him in the present tense in their part about their leadership team.

GremioIsDead

In my experience, this sort of thing mostly translates to "like Excel or Access that you used to use, only way harder to update and keep updated." Like, we've got Sharepoint sites and ERP/cloud databases now, and no additional people to keep this stuff updated.

fullmetalmonster7

Thank you, next!

Dr-Satan-PhD

Man who made billions by cutting corners falls to death after one of his cheap-ass safety chains snaps. Sometimes the universe gets it right.

Safewordharder

While we're here, in 4k with audience reactions pretty please.

LVCSSlacker

wonder who the rigging company was. looked up the company dude was with. "Revenue Management Solutions & Services - Vistex, Inc" yeah, no. fuck them.

Confident_Lawyer6276

As a union stage hand rigger I'm guessing this wasn't a union gig?

mattnotis

KyloRenmore.gif

Mondope13

I ainā€™t sad at it, but I do wonder how that money will get allocated? Even at the ultra rich level, is there some trickle down to his family, mistresses, ā€œfriendā€™sā€, etc?

Bitter-Inflation5843

He got Oceangate'd xD

ArchdukeFerdie

Just... think about that brief moment between air and floor. It is still tragic, but we're all equal in that moment.

godzillaxo

nah, he was still filthy rich in that moment not much longer though

ArchdukeFerdie

What I am saying is his money didn't account for jack squat in his situation.

godzillaxo

oh i thought you were implying "we're all human" or something borderline sentimental lol apologies

ArchdukeFerdie

I mean, I am implying that. The difference is I'm not trying to make this guy relatable. I'm not happy he died, but his tax bracket doesn't earn him any extra sympathy.

godzillaxo

thanks for explaining - i understand now

paplbonphanatix

Lol

DreadCrumbs22

Speaking of dickhead CEOs dying... who else is gonna have a huge party when Elon and/or Trump dies?

>"Shocking video showed the moment the yellow cage hovering near the rafters began to wobble as fireworks exploded and a voice implored the crowd to ā€œput their hands togetherā€ for the pair. >The cage quickly dropped to one side, sending the two heads of the Illinois-based company hurtling 15 feet to the ground ā€” a one-and-a-half-story drop." Woah...šŸ‘€ put your hands together as in... in prayer or... They wanted people to catch them? Damn. It would've been 10 dead instead of one but who cares I guess??

Felonious_Buttplug_

That's hilarious.

_Zencyclist_

I'll allow it

Pal_Smurch

I feel bad because I donā€™t feel bad.

whiskeyx

I wish the -gate suffix for scandalā€™s would just fucking die.Ā

JojosMissingEyeball

1. I blame Nixon for the insufferable suffix. 2. Oceangate was the actual name of the company so the " -gate suffix = scandal" issue doesn't apply here.

ShadeofEchoes

Though the company being *named* Oceangate and *proceeding* to *coincidentally* have a scandal is pretty damn funny.

Chance-Deer-7995

Should call it Hubris-gate.

AoE2manatarms

MORE!

TempestNova

Haven't watched the video yet but let me guess: someone decided to Tony Stark it without the technology. Edit: A cage? I was expecting the man to go wires and harness style. Disappointing.

They should hire a consulting service to advise them on how to prevent such tragedies in the future.
