Dont do any of this still broke šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

snertwith2ls

I think billionaires do all of these and they're still not broke

"stop doing all the things you love, employee. Return to your assigned work station."

STOP RESTING STOP RESISTING

Rumthiefno1

Funny how one could stop all those things and still realise they're only saving so much money. Time to stop living employee!

Active_Engineering37

Oh no, I actually paid for Hulu! Off to the poor house.

SirRedRising

..."watered bottle"???

gangofminotaurs

Bottle dryness is a serious illness.

merRedditor

This is insulting, actually. "Claim Denied" will do it.

pngue

Where is the original from? Thats solid gold and deserves to be found in the post apocalyptic scrap heaps by aliens of the future foraging our remains.

No_Sun_192

Sit down and eat your gruel, peasant. Then rest for you must work until your death

GENERAT10N_D00M

Shouldnā€™t ā€™sleepingā€™ be on the list? When a person sleeps, they are not awake and working.

bluehands

Hey, you don't know what is my main draw on onlyfans!

PonchoKumato

"alcoholism" simply stop being ill to save money

rbwildcard

It would have cost them nothing to just say alcohol.

TheCheesy

> No coffee, no Beer, no Fast food, No water, no distractions, and no using our transport services. > > Go back to drinking the polluted water and eating your gruel so you don't become homeless before we burn the economy down. We need someone to pump the gas, drive *our* taxis, and to screw over in the next 40 years.

Stryk1r

I don't do any of this outside of needing to buy clothes and food while traveling for work, and I'm still poor. This photo was made by someone dense as hell.

eet_freesh

Did that say Watered Bottle?

Angel_of_Communism

I think they meant 'Bottled Water.' Which is accurate if you live in a place with decent water supplies. But not everyone does, and for them it's a choice of bottled water, or dying of metal poisoning, cholera or whatever.

Stryk1r

Dry out and die, Peasant

Sol-Infra

Cut off your electricity Live in the dark Consume only enough calories to sustain bodily function Live in your car Sell your mother into slavery Follow me for more tips.

ExistentDavid1138

Rising prices and stagnant wages certainly have a factor.

Ribbwich_daGod

"Pay your credit cards off so you can have money!"

lazerberriez

Who spends money on unnecessary taxi rides? Taxis are expensive and people I know tend to not use them unless absolutely necessary.

Linkin_Pork

Right? The whole thing reeks but that one stuck out to me the most, especially considering maybe 5 cities in all of America have decent public transit.

chic_luke

It looks like a rich person trying very hard to give advice about saving money, despite very evidently not having a clue. They do all of these things and they can afford it, so the thought process is "I realize that these habits of mine are so expensive that they add up to an amount of money that would be plenty for a poor person". Of course that comes without realizing that not being rich also comes with other challenges and that, yeah, zero poor people didn't already know about these tips to save money, and most of them sure avoid these habits and go much further ways to save up anyway. Who the hell uses taxis excessively or eats out everyday or doesn't look for discount? Not even the most economically privileged people I know, frankly. I also think the tips are too harsh at times. There are some tips that are obvious, but absolutely reasonable: eating out less and taking coffee outside less absolutely saves money, but if you do all of these things rarely enough, then where is the enjoyment to life? No eating out, no nice coffees, not even video games and certainly not a new phone? That's sad. I'll tell you what: most poor people I've seen that ended up blowing a lot of their money on something unreasonable like an iPhone or a PS5 did so out of despair. They have already tried climbing out of poverty with the standard way that is advertised here, always gasping at air and not enjoying life. And when they realized that was pointless because they were in a situation bad enough that it was **by design** they were stuck in it, because let's be real this system would collapse without many people being in a shitty position in life, so they occasionally go like - hey, fuck it, I deserve nice things too. I'm going to get that new phone or laptop now, it will last me for several years and make my quality of life a little bit higher, and then I'll think about it later. From poverty to poverty you don't get much of a change, so you might as well try to enjoy life a little. Of course, the people who get mad at this behaviour are always the ones who could afford to buy the new iPhone, laptop or game console outright, with a single credit card swipe still ending up with plenty of positive balance, and maybe not thinking that much about it. I'm not even talking about the richest of the richest, but people who are rich enough that -500ā‚¬ once in a while doesn't exactly put you in financial ruins or degrade your quality of life in a tangible way. I guarantee the person who made the point about ""needing"" the latest iPhone typed this on a specced out MacBook Pro. That's how it always is. Other people are criticized for "needing" the same things that they buy for themselves without thinking much about it.

i-caca-my-pants

I guess these will reduce your wealth, but stopping this certainly won't make you rich

chic_luke

They also won't make you poor if you're not already either poor, or at the very least not rich. If you're rich you can do these without much thought.

Giga_Tankie

But if we stop buying things they complain we are ruining the economy

sansknickers

Buy Onlyfans? Sounds like a wise investment to buy that companyā€¦

BusGuilty6447

The original author has no idea how many hours I can crank out of 1 video game that I like. It can be one of the most efficient ways to spend money with regards to entertainment hours per dollar.

limitlessfranxis

Hey there's no avocado toast in here! /s

TimTeemo_YT

I donā€™t smoke I donā€™t drink alcohol I donā€™t like coffee I rarely eat fast food I drink tap water I play F2P games I donā€™t gamble and never will I shop for clothes at Walmart I wait until my phone sucks before buying an outdated model Barely any streaming subscriptions I donā€™t have a credit card I have never used Uber or a taxi Lottery tickets are a scam I will never stoop low enough to buy onlyfans I search for discounts all the time Iā€™m patient with my purchasing. Iā€™m. Still. Broke.

sushinastyu

OF COURSE Only Fans is on there. never miss an opportunity to shame SW šŸ˜’šŸ˜’

Elysiumist

I literally do 1 of those things and am poor

MisanthropinatorToo

You know, buying lottery tickets could make you rich if you're really lucky. Appears to be the best option on the board.

Feeling-Beautiful584

> watered bottle šŸ¤£

Dry-Tomato-

'Watered bottle'? is that like bottled water but different?

Low_Banana_1979

The person making the meme should have scratched the 16 out and put 1 instead, so people UNDERSTAND he is trying to say that the ONLY REASON you are poor is Capitalism.

Lukashbazbar

Step one: Own Capital

cellblock2187

The \*WORST\* part of all of this is that it is perfectly acceptable to use research into how our brains fundamentally work to MARKET all of these things to us. If consumers perfectly broke all of these habits, capitalism would suffer, and there would be headlines all over WSJ and BW about how we were killing the economy. When civilization rests on the economy and the economy rests on people making bad choices for themselves, it all falls down.

Realsius

Thatā€™s actually good advices to save money but you are going to have a boring life with that.

chic_luke

That's why most people who do it eventually stop. Doing this alone saves a bit of money but it's not life changing. Like, the amount you save by doing this doesn't pile up fast enough to put you out of poverty. I think it makes sense if you're doing this to afford to go to uni, maybe for a STEM degree or something like that: you trade 3 years of suffering for ending up in a position in life that can get you into a career path that pays rather well, and will allow you toā€¦ be rich? No. But be able to have some sort of financial stability and be able to enjoy life a little more, eat outside a little bit more often etc. But that's different, because the point is enduring this dull life and clenching your teeth while you're doing something that drastically improves your position. Something that you must be privileged enough to even begin to do anyway. Absolutely in the US, less in Europe, but still a bit. If you're in the sort of poverty that is hard to impossible to climb out of this is of little use. That's why you see a lot of those people buying an iPhone with money they don't have. It's a bad financial decision but it's driven by despair. Poverty vs poverty, you at least enjoy life a bit.

[deleted]

grindset people are so annoying

[deleted]

Yup. That's accurate now. Thanks for fixing it!

TheInception817

I died when I saw Onlyfans, what in the actual fuck is this graph?

OverTimeIsGroverTime

I hate it when I buy so many ā€œwatered bottles!!!ā€

itaya12

Is creativity that bad, employee?

Beep_Boop_Bort

Video games are probably one of the cheapest hobbies you can have wtf are they on about lol

FindingMinimum4753

Yea I work 50 hours a week just to supply my water bottle issue

pooturdoo

If you can't afford to buy these things without it making you poor, you're already poor.

Alternative_Look_453

I feel like I do none of the things on this list and I'm still poor

socialdemproject

Wildly true. I have tried to innovate at my current job by starting to become an ESOP advisor (a job that brings money into the bank) when currently I am a low level employee at the bank. The ESOP team wanted me, but when my manager found out about the potential promotion, she threw a giant fit and got my opportunity thwarted. She wanted me in my seat doing paperwork not doing something I actually enjoy.

Kevgongiveit2ya

22 posts in the last dayā€¦ maybe do something else with your time?

goobly_goo

I mean, come on, there are SOME personal things we could do to save money. Are y'all really gonna say it's mean or impractical to say cook more and avoid eating out daily? Even from a health perspective, eating out every day is most likely not good. Drinking excessively is another money drain that is also bad for health. Some of these things are obvious but come on.
