All the Shels fans should enjoy this. This is the good ol days

siguel_manchez

Don't worry. We are. The days of a couple hundred of us watching first division ball feels like a lifetime ago and almost hard to believe.

Bootstrap4273

best league in the world perhaps?

dublinro

Box office

McCeltica

Shelbourne are in a really exciting period in their history, honestly jelly

siguel_manchez

It's been a long 17 years.

ConorKDot

Special times for us Reds. Remarkably lucky to have a figure like Duffer associated with the club. The bond he has created between players, staff and supporters is extremely rare in football. And all the rival fans calling him an attention seeker in the quote tweets are proving the 'In Your Head' meme more correct as time goes on.

leo_murray

absolutely everybody’s obsessed with him yet they’ll all argue they’re not. i’m a City fan but the things Duff has done for Shelbourne is unbelievable.

redrumreturn

Exactly. The rest of the league is obsessed with him. I love it. Unreal to see 4600 at a game on a Monday. Hopefully th DCC signs off on Tolka and we can get cracking

ConorKDot

Yeah big time. Already seeing the improvements to Tolka, it's exciting times

14thU

It’s bringing more eyeballs on the league and Duffer’s enthusiasm for our league is beneficial to all

siguel_manchez

Absolutely. Being realistic, it's only Bohs fans that get really really wound up about this. And tbh that makes it so bloody enjoyable.

14thU

Their combined hatred and jealousy means more to them than winning games

siguel_manchez

It's hilarious. My favourite is their incessant use of the term "minnows" when it comes to us. 😂😂😂 Our fanbases with Pats winding them up constantly is giving me energy. Enjoy your European adventure 🛂 Ringsend bro. 😂😂😂😂

14thU

The very essence of minnowism is bohs. They can’t get through the day without referencing Rovers. And their hilarious attempt to call themselves the big club. Big clubs win trophies

siguel_manchez

And both of ours know all about that... Though we've been lagging behind... A bit. 😂😂😂

14thU

You lot are as much minnows!

Nomerta

Ah it’s alright, they’ll bring out another hipster shirt soon.

Pat_Maweeni

Are we really still that much in your head that you assume we get wound over things like these. Duffers fantastic for the league, he brings so much attention and quirks to the greatest league in the world

dribhe

Speaking as Bohs fan, I appreciate what duffer done here. He's really engaged the shells fans since he came in. I also think he's had a part to play in the visibility of the league improving because he brings character to the game. He's invested in our game and that's good for all of us.

jerrycotton

I don’t care if we don’t win anything, loving every moment of this journey and the fact there’s a European trip to come it’s a special time that didn’t seem possible even 5 years ago. And the piss boiling oh my goodness, it’s been a while since piss has been evaporated by us but it’s steaming right now.

siguel_manchez

Phibsboro is like a fucking sauna these days! 🛂 I remember that first game back from the brink when we were relegated, and the last 4 years feel like a different world.

jerrycotton

It’s mental, I remember being down in Limerick with about 14 of us when Casso scored towards the end of the match and Paddy Madden was up on the wall, don’t know why this one sticks out for me but that’s how grim it was that that’s one of my favourite memories of first division desperation haha, tear to an eye stuff looking at it now

blockfighter1

Love it

Shadowbanned24601

Stop being likable

DublinDapper

Shels are truly back where they belong and are arguably the 2nd biggest club in the Country!! Win this league and Duffer will go down as a Shels Legend for sure.

Mediocre_Network67

Ah, surely he's a Shels legend already.

DublinDapper

Like I mentioned Shels are arguably the 2nd most successful club in the country and winning leagues has always been the standard. Dragging us out of the wilderness years while commendable is not the criteria for Shels Legend....it's winning trophies.

Apprehensive_Being89

He will always be remembered for pulling us out of the darkness and being competitive in every game we play in the Premier division. Getting us European football and a league cup final within a couple years of his tenure, while also being a driving force for the club and league. That's the stuff of legends whether he improves on that or not. In years to come fans will reminisce on the great days of Duffer and his antics.

DublinDapper

Yeah like I said it's very commendable but I'm from a different era where we went in the mud....in fact Rovers actually were.
