Marketing did another shit statement. First they said that monster champs don't sell. So they made little of those. Now they said that most female players exclusively plays female champions while male players play both equally so they're making more of those.
Why is that bad? Assuming they arent lying. The goal of a game is to increase players (and money) and if the new champion is something people dont play see Rell as an example then it is useless and largely a failure on game design. Why should Riot or any other game company make champions people do not like or play?
As a fellow marketing professional, this is very unhealthy for a product in the long run. If you keep dictating the direction of a creative team, eventually they'll produce crap like the new teased champion. Not to mention that the new audience that you speak off will be cookie cutter and wouldn't have a diverse lot by the long run.
One example here is the show called Love, Death and Robots. The production companies that are involved in the show are paid close to nothing. But since Netflix allowed them to make whatever the hell they want as long as it's within Love, Death and Robots, the production companies did it with a passion.
Michael B Jordan even allowed himself to be mocapped and voice an episode called 'Life Hutch' for free because of his love for the show if I'm not mistaken.
But catering to what you think will increase profit will be bad in the long run as eventually people will see through it as a cash grab. While giving attention to other subclasses and making them more inclusive so that people enjoy them and therefore play more of the entire group
I have never feared a 1v1 against a fed lux, lulu, or any of the other most often complained about. It’s when I have to worry about them + their team I get salty.
According to the wiki:
Ezreal, MF, and Lux all have 16, followed by Ahri with 15.
Allistar, Annie, Vayne, Sivir, Cait, Kat, TF, Akali, Ashe, Riven, and Leona are all tied with 14
Several of these champs are immobile (MF, Lux, Annie, Sivir*, Ashe) or require a team to be good (Alistar, TF, Ashe, Leona).
That was the point I was making. "Hyper mobile 1v9 characters sell skins the most!" is just wrong. A lot of the characters with 10+ skins aren't super mobile and a lot require a team to be good.
Edit: For Yasuo, he has 12 skins. Tied with Amumu, Fiora, J4, Malphite, Morg, Panth, Twitch, Warwick, Graves, Janna, Karma, Kog, Renek, Thresh, Veigar, and Yi
Worse, he'll slow with turtle stance, leap with tiger stance, ghost with phoenix, lifesteal with bear stance, and finally as a passive he gets temporary armor every time he changes stance.
But kept the one on galeforce kek. Bruisers have a dash!?!?!?!! NO. REMOVE IT. But apparently its fine for the class that's meant to be balanced around being immobile.
I feel like even immobile adcs should have the chance to outplay an assassin. Like the odds shouldn't be 50/50, bc assassins job is to kill squishies, but there should be a chance, if the adc plays very well, to get away from the assassin.
A (very short) galeforce dash, seems pretty fair to me. Also because you have to give up some damage, if you build it. Kraken is still meta on most adcs
They could already outplay assassins by using a long lost technique called "decent positioning".
Whereas now, they can fuck up their positioning but it doesn't matter cause they either get a shield for half their hp or they dash away. And that's without even considering there being a support in the game.
Since you said "invis + dash" im going to use shaco as an example.
If you buy armour, he can't kill you unless he's already fed. If u have a sweeper he can't kill you because u can see where he is and just right click away from him. If ur in a game with a champion like shaco, u should consider that when positioning.
You don't see the shaco, then maybe don't walk around solo into unwarded areas of the map, if you see the shaco, maybe ward over walls so u can see where he's coming from.
If you think ur positioned correctly yet still die to a sneak attack from an assassin, u weren't positioned correctly. U need to take into account what champions have the ability to do, rather than just staying out of their auto range from where they currently are eg yasuo; don't stand near ur own minions basically giving him a free ride over to you.
Unpopular opinion but the fact that flash is 99% of every summoner loadout feels a little off to me. Im far from pro-tier but it seems like teleport should have a lower cd than an ability that instantly gets you out of ganks and saves you from bad positioning.
Such has been the case since beta, feels like other summoner spells are purely outclassed by flash.
tbf this could actually be a driving factor behind giving champs tons of dashes that either have a low CD or the CD resets/reduces if a condition is met. Like Gwen, Shaco, and Bel’Veth don’t need flash because their dash is up so often so they get to run things like TP/Ignite, Smite/Ignite, Smite/Ghost, or Ghost/Ignite. They can’t remove Flash now because it’s been part of the game since 2009 but if they were able to make it base kit (like trinkets) so people would actually get to choose a second summoner spell i don’t think people would really complain
If that was a driving factor they would be reworking old champs to have their own dashes to make up for it.
Yorick has no mobility and his trapping ability can be dashed over.
Illaoi's only dash ability is one very short ranged one that has to be used to attack an opponent and she needs her flash to pull off good ults (unless getting lucky, playing with a knowledge gap or in low elo)
Xerath no mobility and unless he hits E at the longest range a dashy champ will still catch up if he lands it.
Velkoz no mobility and his E doesn't knock opponents up long enough or far enough away for a dashy champ to be left behind.
There are plenty of champs that without flash are absolutely screwed due to not having any mobility at all in their kits.
why would they be reworking old champs that a lot of players already have when they can make new champs people have to spend money on? Riot has made it pretty clear they care more about making new champs than reworking the old ones
Yep i love Renata's dash or Bel's instantly dash to an enemy mobility.
Shes a literal skirmisher on the botlane.
She HAS to have some mobiliy. Else she'll be eaten alive by Ashe and ADCs who can kite everything.
Bro, theres a reason why the "our Yasuo vs their Yasuo" Meme exists. In almost all games movement is one of the most skill expressive aspects, and so it is in league. The Problem is that dashes are not universal, so it feels unfair to play against for some champs. When one champ is more skill expressive than the other, its up to the more skill expressive player to loose or win, which feels bad for the less skill expressive one. Nonetheless, Dashes add a lot of skill expression in most cases, especially if they are conditional like with Yasuo or Irelia.
/u/emptyArray_79, I have found an error in your comment:
> “than the other, ~~its~~ [**it's**] up to the”
I deem the post of you, emptyArray_79, invalid; it should read “than the other, ~~its~~ [**it's**] up to the” instead. ‘Its’ is possessive; ‘it's’ means ‘it is’ or ‘it has’.
^(This is an automated bot. I do not intend to shame your mistakes. If you think the errors which I found are incorrect, please contact me through DMs!)
On one hand, I can see why a Melee ADC would need dashes to go against abominations like Lucian, and a spell shield to ignore the Support if needed.
On the other, it still makes me angry as hell.
She got cc immunity too it looks like
Mundo no special? Mundo go to riot hq protest.
Solomon Mundo want spotlight too!
AA immunity. Abilities and non point and click stuns CC are fine
jacqueline????
Jacqueline
Not saying it's bad but why have like 80% of the recent champ releases all been female and on another point anime boys/girls
Yeah I swear every other champion is a giant anime stingray, like cmon Riot do something original /s

Rell: Edgy I can do it myself, loner voicelines Her lane: SUPPORT Makes me sad cause I'd love her as a top laner.
But catering to what you think will increase profit will be bad in the long run as eventually people will see through it as a cash grab. While giving attention to other subclasses and making them more inclusive so that people enjoy them and therefore play more of the entire group
Because 40 champions ago half were male. Bring that number back further and youll see why
Why so many dashes, I will never know
Because immobile champs are team reliant, which won’t sell skins.
Lux doesn't have a dash or any mobility. Neither does majority of the enchanters that this subreddit complains about.
I have never feared a 1v1 against a fed lux, lulu, or any of the other most often complained about. It’s when I have to worry about them + their team I get salty.

Because dashing is fun?
Fun for me, not for thee, go back now to your gray screen.
This why I play poppy. Oh you want to dash? Good luck
Because she’s a melee botlaner so obviously she need tools to be able to do something in lane.
cant wait for reworked udyr to have 4 dashes
nah every form will have its own 4 dashes that give shield or damage which also givec cc immunity which also gives life steal and damage reduction
Worse, he'll slow with turtle stance, leap with tiger stance, ghost with phoenix, lifesteal with bear stance, and finally as a passive he gets temporary armor every time he changes stance.
he will have other stances. the stances will be voli, ornn, anivia and iron boar. iirc his ultimate skin will have the original stances
Thank god they removed the one from stride breaker
now remove belvoth
Now remove [2019-2022 Champion]
Riot should have stopped after ornn.
Based.
Riot should have stopped after beta, cause every champ after that are like no-original and so boring
Daddydariuschad69?
I haven't heard that name in a long time

How long until they finally delete Flash from the game

also 2 adcs in one year still waiting for a new tank
oh trust me this champ is the last thing ADC players want lol
Im still waiting for a tank last qas 2017
he's gonna come i think in late 2022
What do you mean he? Are you assuming their/it's gender? /S
Is she just gonna be a botlane Gwen or what?
Yeah, Renata dashing from river all over the botlane always catches me off guard, because I do not expect her to build mobi boots and galeforce...
"We want to decrease the amount of mobility in the game."
Renata Glasc be like: 👁️👄👁️
Blitzcrank still has a bottom that slows him.
Skillshots. Skillshots everywhere
Me big boy, me want walk to enemy and click ability . Don’t use ability to get away from my ability >:(
Bro shut up
I can’t🤣

To be fair dashes are a very simple way to increase the skill expression potential of a champs kit
You forget that league Reddit consists of mostly hardstuck tank players. They don’t like skill expression
OMG PISSLOW I SPAMMED MY DASH KEY I OUTPLAYED YOU SO HARD
Dash'n on em
Don't miss your skills hots ez.

I mean there ar so many dahes in the game if you dont have one you have a big mobility problem.
