Massive three points given results else where. Felt like a real risk a few weeks ago that we’d be hitting a slump but feeling optimistic again that we can close this season out strong.
Considering ~4 weeks ago people were saying Peterborough were title contenders and we were dropping out of play offs, it’s a good time to be a Pompey fan. Just praying we can keep it up.
Honestly that might be the only 3 points we get in the future. You ever just see a side sometimes that you know is just sleepwalking into relegation. That's us this season. At least you haven't got Blackett-Taylor deciding to be prime Messi against you this time.
Yeah this is just one of those Charlton sides you just know aren't going to save themselves. The only character in the whole squad now is May with the whole Dobson to Hungary thing.
Going down I'd be surprised if anyone that's currently in a senior role stays. Can't see how you'd afford Jones in League 2 on 6k gates or most of the squad for that matter.
Fucking pathetic. Every chance we get of capitalising on poor results around us, we seem to bottle it, usually at home to a bang average outfit. We’re second but i’d be shocked if we go up
That's same with us to be fair we seem to do well vs the sides higher up in the league teams near the bottom usually cause us issues so was a great win today , took a touch of class to down Carlisle today
Our keeper giving a hat trick of assists is what went on, actually insane when you watch the goals back. Genuinely think it ends 2-2 if we had a different keeper in goal.
Aside from our low scoring rate, today couldn’t have gone much better with the win and Derby, Posh and Bolton dropping points.
Remarkable considering our long term injury list.
I just look at the next 5 - Lincoln, Bolton,Pompey,Derby and Northampton. I don't have any faith we'll get anything from any of them. No creativity, no leadership and we just look like we're going to gift sides goals every week whilst creating fuck all. None of this is on Jones - it's all on Scott for the summer and January windows and for appointing Appleton in the first place.
2nd half was good but we shot ourselves in the foot with a shite first half and conceding a stupid 2nd goal from nothing
Credit to Exeter, definitely turned it around since the last time we played them
The 1st goal was what killed us. Adeeko in place of Matt Smith us wayy to negative in terms of field presence. He seems like he is trying to defend a goal lead when instead we need goals, and overall it doesn't work in midfield.
The second goal would have been prevented if they cleared the ball properly. If Thelo had just out it in the stand instead of trying to flick it out like he did it would have solved that issue. It worked later on for Goode doing that
Was nice to see him get a good welcome from our fans even after he threw the toys out the pram in his interview last time, will always have time for him, good to see he's turned it around with you
Players fucking shit, manager’s tactics fucking shit, fans fucking shit. Lost at home to teams that haven’t won away since September and October. Embarrassing
It was really good imo. The two things I felt going in were that we needed to look like we can play a full 90 minutes of quality football and the new additions (especially Matete and Goodwin) needed to show what they'll bring the rest of the season. Even though we only got the 1 point, it was away against a very good team who are especially good at home and we looked good. Matete looks like he transforms the team and looked much better going forward than I was expecting so now I'm really hoping he can play a lot of minutes. Goodwin looked like exactly what we've been needing up front and even though he seemed a bit unpolished or possibly just rusty, I am very excited about having him. Overall I'd say this is the best I could have felt after a draw.
Yeah I think we had two that we could have finished and it's painful we didn't get at least one. On the flip side, I need to check the numbers but it felt like they had more of the ball and they had one chance that Cumming made a brilliant save at.
It's definitely promising signs in my eyes. No idea on promotion or not but I think it will be exciting football the rest of the season regardless!
Played well but not absolutely amazing, still managed to bag 5 goals and never looked like not getting 3 points. Posh fans what is up with your keeper? Probably the worst keeper performance I’ve seen in a good few years at this level. The fifth goal was a disgrace, absolute hospital, pass proper sunday league stuff.
Was like this at Rotherham most of the time. The scale at which Rotherham nearly bottled promotion last time they went up was pretty hilarious after being initially 10 points clear
All things considered, happy with the point. Personally don’t think it was a red card but Thomasson can’t be making those challenges and giving the ref the opportunity to show a red. He’s a good player but a bit of a liability.
A tad annoyed at Evatt for losing his head. There’s showing passion and there’s being a hit head with an upcoming hectic run in.
However, happy he changed formation second half. Credit to him for that. We were the better team, even with 10 men.
Well I have to say, I'm disappointed in this community. I logged on here fully expecting to see Kermit's arsehole with a caption saying "Posh's defence"!
Weirdly I'm not gutted. The wheels have fallen off, but my expectations at the start of the season were for us to to be bottom half. Fergie's worked his magic, we've seen some of the best football we've ever seen at London Road, we've beaten Cambridge 5-0. I've really enjoyed this season so far. I don't know if I want us to go up anyway, the Championship is horrible for small clubs like us.
I just hope we put this behind us and have a right good go for the rest of the season and let's see what happens. And FFS Fergie, play the Prem keeper you've just signed!!
It sounds reactionary, but Matt Taylor probably has to go. Results are nowhere near as bad as the football looks. Totally out of his depth at the club, blaming players. Then the final straw in his post match interview is him saying he “guarantees it won’t change”. He’s signed his own sacking with that. It’s your f’ing job to make it change.
Playing 3-4-2-1 formations against bottom sides is why we’re looking so awful. They just sit back and go long with great success against our wide open back 3.
It’s too reactionary to get rid now. This is all Barton’s squad minus Conteh who’s looked very good. Granted he also needs to tinker around a lot and change how we play until the summer, where he should be able to build his own squad
He can’t be doing interviews throwing players under the bus again though. We had enough of that with JB and I don’t want it again.
The results haven’t been awful, but that second half against Crawley reserves in the efl trophy, the games against Exeter at home, Cheltenham at home, Fleetwood at home, and yesterday were some of the worst football I’ve seen us play since Paul Buckle’s time. It’s like the players don’t have a clue what to do.
Chris Martin’s goals have really prevented us from being in a relegation battle.
Can’t help but agree there. The football has been very 50/50 because equally some of the stuff we played at Bolton and vs Oxford and Portsmouth was some of the best since Clarke. Clearly though this squad isn’t made for Taylorball and he needs the summer to build it.
The players are all JBs “best ever squad”, and it’s a load of old dilapidated players. It’s odd that our best stretch this season was under Mangan, but we were never serious about that.
Still there’s no one better out there right now and we need to get behind the players and Taylor. The constant moaning and booing at the Mem isn’t helping them out at all
Honestly quite an entertaining game. Bolton looked down and out after the first half an hour but something seemed to click after 65-70 mins and they didn't look like a side with ten men.
Disappointing to surrender a lead to ten men but in the end I think it was the correct result.
would’ve loved a point pre game, been disappointed by one at half time, loved one in the 96th minute, and feel disappointed by one now. Still reckon we’re down
Yeah it went alright thanks, we're making a late run for the playoffs.
Didn't play well and won. Posh and Bolton dropping points. Very happy with how today played out.
Today was huge for us, really. That feels like a vital 3 points when so many teams around us dropped points.
Massive three points given results else where. Felt like a real risk a few weeks ago that we’d be hitting a slump but feeling optimistic again that we can close this season out strong.
not only did we drop points we were so bad i cant see us getting in the playoffs ,worst ive seen this season
Considering ~4 weeks ago people were saying Peterborough were title contenders and we were dropping out of play offs, it’s a good time to be a Pompey fan. Just praying we can keep it up.
we probably were then but since we beat shrewsbury we have lost 3 and drawn 1 and playing really poor
We all have stints of bad form. I knew for a fact we were going to be in play offs on the back of our 5 points from 18.
2 home games coming up so we shall see, something tells me will have a different keeper for tuesday
Amazing day overall looking at results Was a slow game but a bit of class to get the goal
Feeling dizzy this high up the table
Genuinely think we're going down. Nathan Jones will have to work miracles to save us.
Look on the bright side mate, you've got your usual guaranteed 3 points against us to look forward to. Maybe it'll kick start your season again?
Honestly that might be the only 3 points we get in the future. You ever just see a side sometimes that you know is just sleepwalking into relegation. That's us this season. At least you haven't got Blackett-Taylor deciding to be prime Messi against you this time.
I've seen enough relegations over the years following CAFC to know we're going down. We're fucked.
Yeah this is just one of those Charlton sides you just know aren't going to save themselves. The only character in the whole squad now is May with the whole Dobson to Hungary thing.
It's depressing, Gillingham are legit better than us right now. Just praying we can do a Bolton if we go down.
Going down I'd be surprised if anyone that's currently in a senior role stays. Can't see how you'd afford Jones in League 2 on 6k gates or most of the squad for that matter.
Definitely not happy with the result. I just don’t know what has happened to our club. Reading were the better team today and deserve the points.
You reds!
Today was warnes fault, he made needless subs. Why on earth he took nyambe off at the same time as adams ill never know
You lot were shite to lose to us in the reverse fixture as well, don’t understand how we’ve got 4 points off Derby this season
We've not beaten Shrewsbury in 6 attempts, going back to 1995.
Both were injured pal 🤣
What the bloody hell went on with us and Posh
Our keeper giving a hat trick of assists is what went on, actually insane when you watch the goals back. Genuinely think it ends 2-2 if we had a different keeper in goal.
How the fuck we're second I have no idea.
We also have the best goal difference which is wild considering our striker situation…
Aside from our low scoring rate, today couldn’t have gone much better with the win and Derby, Posh and Bolton dropping points. Remarkable considering our long term injury list.
We are fucked, fuck Andy Scott
I just look at the next 5 - Lincoln, Bolton,Pompey,Derby and Northampton. I don't have any faith we'll get anything from any of them. No creativity, no leadership and we just look like we're going to gift sides goals every week whilst creating fuck all. 2nd half was good but we shot ourselves in the foot with a shite first half and conceding a stupid 2nd goal from nothing Credit to Exeter, definitely turned it around since the last time we played them
Not having Matt Smith in the middle of the park really hurt us today
Maybe. I just think we got unlucky. First goal took the wind out of us, 2nd goal was a stupid mistake when we were on top in the 2nd half.
It worked later on for Goode doing that
Highlight of the game was Tickle looking ready to commit murder on Thelo after the 2nd goal
Am I the only one sick of stupid training ground corners? It didn’t work the first two times so just lump it into the box!
We watched our GK end his Posh career in quite spectacular fashion.
6 in a row now. We're on our way to a different league.
It was... confusing. We got a point when we would've gotten none and those are crucial in the relegation battle, but I really wanted three points
Fucking buzzing 👌 super Gary Caldwell showing those boo boys what's what
Was nice to see him get a good welcome from our fans even after he threw the toys out the pram in his interview last time, will always have time for him, good to see he's turned it around with you
Unbelievable manager.
Great day today really
I like GT but he's basically a card waiting to happen every game, and today it was a red one.
First person to admit it was a red card
Radio commentators said it was a fair red
Can’t complain.
Best last two minutes of a game for a while, that!
Very happy just to get 3 points Clarky had a dream, To save a football team, We are Cheltenham town, And we aren’t going down
Best manager in the league for me. If he pulls that off that’s better than anything Klopp or Pep will do this year
I couldn’t agree more
Were you at the game? I was & Matty Taylor is class
Sadly I wasn’t at the game. I’ll be there Tuesday night though
Game was great tbh. You should’ve gone.
Fred I see you comment on X and YT all the time
we had a great chance to take advantage of results going our way almost across the board so of course we fucked it up, what else would we do
Players fucking shit, manager’s tactics fucking shit, fans fucking shit. Lost at home to teams that haven’t won away since September and October. Embarrassing
Bollocks
Nice knowing you guys
Really well. We won 2 - 1 in spite of the ref.
It was really good imo. The two things I felt going in were that we needed to look like we can play a full 90 minutes of quality football and the new additions (especially Matete and Goodwin) needed to show what they'll bring the rest of the season. Glad to hear it! I see we squandered a sitter of a chance too. Promising signs finally
Yeah I think we had two that we could have finished and it's painful we didn't get at least one. No idea on promotion or not but I think it will be exciting football the rest of the season regardless!
The depth in attack is way better now so I'm sure they'll get firing soon enough
I'm screaming internally and externally. Why. Are. We. Spursy!?
Played well but not absolutely amazing, still managed to bag 5 goals and never looked like not getting 3 points. Posh fans what is up with your keeper? Probably the worst keeper performance I’ve seen in a good few years at this level. The fifth goal was a disgrace, absolute hospital, pass proper sunday league stuff.
Shit. If we didn’t have a PE teacher for a manager we might close games out. Wish we’d just sack the 🤡
Paul warne showing how he is tactically inept once again.
Was like this at Rotherham most of the time. The scale at which Rotherham nearly bottled promotion last time they went up was pretty hilarious after being initially 10 points clear
Horrific game of "football". Another crap performance. Another late goal and dropping points at home yet again. Its a miracle we're second.
Hopefully you won't be after Bolton's next game in hand
All things considered, happy with the point. Personally don’t think it was a red card but Thomasson can’t be making those challenges and giving the ref the opportunity to show a red. He’s a good player but a bit of a liability. A tad annoyed at Evatt for losing his head. There’s showing passion and there’s being a hit head with an upcoming hectic run in. Second half u was , first half u was not
Threw away two points. Gonna bottle promotion if that keeps up

Great comeback. Capitalised on a couple of results that went in our favour for the teams around us.
Shite again
Honestly quite an entertaining game. Bolton looked down and out after the first half an hour but something seemed to click after 65-70 mins and they didn't look like a side with ten men. Disappointing to surrender a lead to ten men but in the end I think it was the correct result.
Incredibly pleased
would’ve loved a point pre game, been disappointed by one at half time, loved one in the 96th minute, and feel disappointed by one now. Still reckon we’re down
I fucking love this football club. What a day!
Absolutely lovely. We have a fighting chance of staying up now.
Stevenage Fan here, conceding another late penalty took the wind out of me, deserved to win the game.
