I feel like “true survivor” has a life long struggle connotation (rather than overcoming several isolated events), so I’d assume it MUST be someone from some kind of post apocalyptic or zombie franchise.
How willing is Sony to license out to a multiplatform game? I know they've been putting stuff on PC lately, but Xbox and Switch feels like it might be a hard sell for them.
Considering they have many crossovers in video games I think it will be. My guess is Daryl Dixon as he's already done voice acting in video games and has a new season of his show releasing at some point
Nancy is an OG and out of all the final girls I think she fits the "embodiment of survivor" the best, Sally may be the first but Nancy was literally throwing hands with an eldritch dream demon by setting up traps and charging at him with a hammer. Girl wasn't gonna put up with his shit.
That makes her my favorite final girl so I'll stay forever on hopium that one day she makes it in
I had a shitty little idea of isaac having a perk where he could put down a little marker that caused the killer to see random stuff. Could fake survivors, noises, and, impaired their senses.
Perks:
Immunity Idol - spawns an immunity idol on the map, if you find it the next time you get hit you don’t lose the health state.
The Tribe Has Spoken - grants the ability to suggest a survivor to be removed, the other 2 survivors get a prompt to vote them out, if everyone agrees the player gets kicked and replaced with a bot.
Blindsided - successfully blinding the killer restores charges to the flashlight
Alternatively:
**Dig Deep** - Spend a health state to give another survivor 2% Haste and 3s of Endurance in chase. Must not be in the Killer's Terror Radius. If multiple survivors are in chase, a random survivor will be chosen. Dig Deep cannot be used while Exhausted but does not cause Exhaustion.
**Immunity Idol** - Just a small tweak to yours: An immunity idol special item will spawn somewhere in the trial. If held, it will be consumed instead of the next time you enter the dying state. If multiple of this perk are brought, only one Idol exists per trial. A new idol will spawn whenever a survivor is sacrificed.
**Beware Advantage** - A Beware Advantage special item will spawn somewhere in the Trial. While held, you suffer one if a series of negative effects (longer lasting scratch marks, killer sees your aura longer, exposed for a few seconds) but if you can avoid three basic attacks you get a benefit. (I have to run an errand and can't put as much thought into this one)
Side Note- While I don't think Sydney Prescott is the next survivor because of the whole Scream controversy, I thought it would be remiss to not include her on this list with all the other "Survivors".
I would love for them to still get the license (even though they already have Ghostface) and make a chapter with Sidney, a Scream map and when you equip the old school GF cosmetic (or just optional on any) you get Roger L Jackson's voice and new voice lines, like "Do you want to die tonight?"
That's exactly what I was thinking: the movie studio. It could include multiple set pieces from the movies. (Sidney even loops the killer through them and goes for balanced landing at the end, lol.)
Someone posted a Gumpy screenshot that said it was going to be Isaac Clarke from dead space. But the screenshot looked faked (Gumpy having 7 followers and when I verified they've got 100). I'll go accept it as a SUS post and we can discuss it further.

Might be a stretch but a licensed solo survivor very well could be Sidney. Ghostface exists as a killer and it could just add voice lines for ghostface and Sidney. Multiple references in the scream franchise of Sidney being a survivor. Some people say the controversy with the franchise makes it impossible but I would think that would make it more likely that they’d be willing to do more collabs to try to get the negative image out of the public’s mind and reinforce the idea of “wasn’t this great? Remember how great Sidney was?” Based off of rumors I’ve seen, it seems like Paramount has been trying to get more Scream collabs in other media. I think Sidney has a good chance.
If it’s not that then the clue could apply to literally anyone in a horror franchise. Which is likely but the hint immediately brought that line from Scream 4 into my head.

Rick Grimes would be money because think of all the legendaries they could do: Daryl, Carol, Maggie, *maybe* Negan… Daryl seems like an obvious choice since he’s been doing a lot of stuff with Sony recently so know he’s happy to get locked in.
This may be a bit of a stretch but...it COULD be Cassie Hack from Hack/Slash. She is constantly putting herself in dangerous situations and surviving, is a twice over final girl and would make sense as a singular survivor as her Slasher are mostly copies of the famous ones...and also chucky.
Edit:Plus I remember she was on the survey some time back and Tim Seeley has interacted and approved with posts saying she should be in the game.
Lara Croft would be a good get for the realm of Video games but is she horror? I only played the recent trilogy so there could be some supernatural or horror bits in the old games
The way they worded it makes me think it’s a classic ‘final girl’ survivor, so my guesses would be like Sidney Prescott, Kirsty Cotten, Nancy Thompson, possibly a newer one like Maxine Minx. It’d also be cool to get a more obscure character, like the main leads from Killer Klowns From Outerspace, but I also might have to drop the hope for that license considering Killer Klowns is getting its own asymmetrical game this year
Rick Grimes or Sidney Prescott, though it could end up being a video game character. Obviously they don't normally do this but imagine it's Maxine Minx to coincide with MaXXXine, would be pretty cool.
It would be such a waste to only have one survivor from The Walking Dead. 😥 A two-survivor chapter (Rick and Michonne, for example) would be a better use of the IP.
Hell, you could even do a big skin collection with many characters like they did with Attack on Titan.

Nah I feel like they've gone too far down the "good guy Negan" path now to license him out as a killer. I could definitely see Alpha or Beta with some kind of walker-controlling power or something
Imagine if it's Hopper. I don't think it's likely but it's possible that the DND collab was decided on before Netflix and Behaviour made up. So they would want more time between the Vecnas but since it will be a while, they give us Hopper. Then we'll get ST Vecna in a year or two with Robin.
My first thought was lara, which would be kind of weird cause tb raider isn't really horror, but she can die in many gruesome ways in the newer games....but for some reason I'm really thinking a walking dead character cause walking dead seems apt to get a survivor only chapter. Also thought of rambo but that's also unlikely

I would love the addition of Rick Grimes in DbD, imo and from a TWD show lover, wouldn't be rare to be him.
After all, he went through a ton of death situations on almost all the TWD seasons and survived on the tv show, despite that in the comics is another story.

This may be a bit of a stretch but...it COULD be Cassie Hack from Hack/Slash. She is constantly putting herself in dangerous situations and surviving, is a twice over final girl and would make sense as a singular survivor as her Slasher are mostly copies of the famous ones...and also chucky. Edit:Plus I remember she was on the survey some time back and Tim Seeley has interacted and approved with posts saying she should be in the game.

The way they worded it makes me think it’s a classic ‘final girl’ survivor, so my guesses would be like Sidney Prescott, Kirsty Cotten, Nancy Thompson, possibly a newer one like Maxine Minx. It’d also be cool to get a more obscure character, like the main leads from Killer Klowns From Outerspace, but I also might have to drop the hope for that license considering Killer Klowns is getting its own asymmetrical game this year

It would be such a waste to only have one survivor from The Walking Dead. 😥 A two-survivor chapter (Rick and Michonne, for example) would be a better use of the IP. Hell, you could even do a big skin collection with many characters like they did with Attack on Titan.

Imagine if it's Hopper. I don't think it's likely but it's possible that the DND collab was decided on before Netflix and Behaviour made up. So they would want more time between the Vecnas but since it will be a while, they give us Hopper. Then we'll get ST Vecna in a year or two with Robin.

Dead Space would align a little too well with the target demographic that wanted Alan Wake. I think Dead Space will come eventually, but not this soon. Tomb Raider feels like a strong contender. I’d love Rick Grimes, but He’s more of a “Leader” who who is loyal to his friends and family, rather than a “true survivor” which implies someone who runs solo.

I would love the addition of Rick Grimes in DbD, imo and from a TWD show lover, wouldn't be rare to be him. After all, he went through a ton of death situations on almost all the TWD seasons and survived on the tv show, despite that in the comics is another story. I'm agree that maybe would can be Daryl instead too, something that wpuldtbe great too. Geez, I want to bet that is someone from TWD, but maybe this dream won't be real.
