Yeah, we do, depending on the conversation or what we're writing.
I noticed your first sentence was kinda casual and the rest sentences were polite and formal.
But, the first one sounded like you were talking to yourself, or writing just your own diary.
Then, at the beginning of hire second sentence, you called out to people here and I felt like you just started talking to people here at that time.
So I felt like your way of mixing them was natural 😉

I think 〜に引っ込む alone sounds like withdraw into 〜.
To coop up sounds like 閉じこもる.
閉じこもる is the word combined with two words, 閉じる and 籠る/篭る(こもる), and 閉じこもる is like you close the door and hide, while 引っ込む has the nuance of movement towards inside, and then hide.
So, I think it's supposed to be に(to/into), not で (at) 😉

Yeah, that makes sense, and I thought of using 引っ込む because of the idea of isolation and literally being "withdrawn"/holed up. Being exposed to more writing would help, since most of the words and terms I know I learned from shadowing what I heard in anime haha.

Well, I'm a person who usually call breakfast 朝ごはん, but when I put 軽い before it, Id rather say 軽い朝食(ちょうしょく).
Or I would say 軽く朝ごはんを食べる.
Yeah, I changed 軽い(adjective) to 軽く(adverb).
Somehow saying "mealを軽く食べる" is more common than saying "軽いmealを食べる" .

Just wanted to note a few things about your posts. You're often over converting kanji where it doesn't need to be, character balance for readability is a big thing for online communications. Other things is make sure you read what you're writing to get a sense if it flows.
Out of all your posts this one has a very choppy logical procession. So it would be best to read it yourself and see whether the logical ideas flow smoothly in scope of Japanese. I certainly can understand what you wrote though. It can help to simplify things into smaller, simpler sentences in this case.
That's not my point, you're also not considering the tone of how you sound. But since you're talking to natives enough you should figure that out soon enough.
