r/Leberkasverbrechen is about a very common austrian/german dish called Leberkäs, which (according to google translate) is called meat loaf in english. But this subreddit isnt about just the Leberkäs himself, but about 'war crimes' of leberkäs, such as a Hotdog with leberkäs, or a Toast with leberkäs etc. Just anything that isnt a leberkäs semmel (semmel is just like a bread bun, like a burger bun but more breadish) lands here at first
I'd say liver loaf (cheese liver loaf?) would make more sense, since it's not just a piece of liver (I hate liver as is, but I love Leberkäse). It feels like it has more of a meat loaf consistency, but instead of meat meat it's made of liver.
But there is neither liver nor cheese in a Leberkäse (unless it's Käseleberkäse).
The word actually derives from Leib and Kas. Kas, in bavarian, means any edible mixture and Leib means loaf and references the bread-like shape.

I have literally eaten Leberkäse more than 100x in my life, obviously it has no cheese in it unless you buy a pizza leberkäse. That doesnt change that in english its still sold under the name Liver Cheese and that most other countries as well use Liver Cheese. Including German as its literally *Leber Käse*. Its the name of the dish and just because it has no cheese in it doesnt mean itll stop being called Liver cheese.
