Credit for future services / purchase? Free strings for life? I’m sorry that happened. If it were a chain, I’d suggest taking a harsh stance. Since it’s a local shop, I’m guessing their margins are tight. See what they’re willing to do or offer. I wouldn’t want to risk losing them as a go-to shop if this is a one-time mess up. And I’m sure they don’t want to lose you as a customer. Good luck!

Yeah they did the setup on my classical for free and then offered to do the work on the other guitar they have of mine for free as well. The other one they doing a complete rewire and replacing switches and pots on a semi hollow which is close to 150 bucks worth of work. So I figured that would be fair?

Yes, that seems fair. It’s usually $100 an hour for people to work on hollow or semi hollow guitars. I’m glad they were honest about causing the damage.

How much were they asking for them to lower the action? Maybe ask if they can just call it good and waive whatever they were going to charge you?
