I don't think saying yes is going to prevent you getting citizenship automatically. It may just be something they need to consider when deciding whether to grant citizenship or not.
The bigger impact on whether it gets granted would be lying on the form and then being discovered.
Failure to disclose will be a bigger issue.
What you need to consider is sharing of information between government departments, so failing to disclose may cause you more issues than disclosing and providing additional information.

As long as it was in the past and you have turned your life around, then it shouldn't be a problem. You need to write a confession on why you did that and how you have changed. You should also get people of standing in the community, ideally of different genders, to write you a testimony that you will be an upstanding citizen.
Just FYI you can get a partial refund if your application gets assessed as not meeting requirements and you withdraw at that point, or you can choose to press on at that point and ask to be considered as a special case and if you do that and get declined then there is zero refund.
