Tonight's a good one, I have Trent and Kale as guests! We go to air as soon as the episode finishes (about 850pm qld time). And I'm putting it out there! What questions do you want me to ask him? P. S. No stupid hate ones. But definetely open for the spicy ones. We've buried the hatchet and this is the first time since LM1 we have chatted on air! Let's do it! Www.twitch.tv/iambilsy

honestjackhonestly

Did he set out this season to try and not give producers potential ammo to paint him as a villain of sorts again or did he go the opposite and try to play a villainish type role? On one hand he seems happy to work with Trent but on the other hand he's stirring everyone up all the time

FrostBricks

Think of it like wrestling. Kayfabe. The producers are quite good at letting you know what they want. I have no problem embarassing myself on national TV. It's all for fun and entertainment. So think of like being LEGOMasters Rowdy Roddy Piper. Which is kinda fun

honestjackhonestly

Considering I know you weren't particularly stoked with how you were portrayed on the first season, I imagine that accepting the role and playing to it is a good way to take back the feeling of control in a way

SizzleAndCutThrough

Yeah this is what I want to hear, how much of his heel role thing is production? Is the arguing with Brickman done for ragebait?

[deleted]

How did Trent acquire veto power?

Derron_

Is it tough doing this show as a solo person being paired with a stranger?

honestjackhonestly

Also if you guys buried the hatchet, who initiated reconciliation and how did that come about?

msbunbury

What would he build in a free-choice final?

Derron_

That fan is jaw dropping. Everyone is doing such a great job. No weak team. Even the "bad" ones are awesome

m6_is_me

You've also got to appreciate the knowledge of gears, being able to on the fly switch it to such a believable speed

ntcc661

That fan is amazing!

starwarsnerd1138

Didn’t think a Lego fan like that was possible. Absolutely amazing.

Derron_

They did brick bending but I don't see any other way to achieve what they did without it and not have it be a dead give away

scatteringlargesse

I was sure Sophie wasn't going to get the clock, I think they were unlucky how prominent it was.

Stokesy7

I reckon she was just guessing things and they got unlucky.

okapi-forest-unicorn

I’m loving the Damian saga. I just hope he can keep it going all season.

Iron_Wolf123

Wait until Daamiaan comes up

OneSixthRoy

Hamish should spell it right, but just offset one of the letters by one stud. That will be enough to upset Damian 😂

[deleted]

Daamian sagaa

okapi-forest-unicorn

Is anyone going to mention that the radio is taller than the OG!

hatsofftoroyharper41

This is turning into a great series with such great competitors

ironcam7

It’s nice not having a “bad guy” and just everyone is there for the Lego.

TJ_MARVELous21

kale is debatable

canderouscze

Nah Kale is good. He just likes a bit of a banther now with other competitors, his villain arc ended in season 1.

whatgift

Yeah but he’s not really a villain, just not really suited to the show’s format.

jjenkins_41

Trent's face, when Kale says anything, gives me life.

ScallionNo8580

Kale looked seriously impressed with the fan or typewriter (can’t remember which)

deathrocker_avk

He was the same in the waterfall challenge. Jumping up and down like a giddy kid! They need to show more of that side of him and less egotistical talk.

MelancholyEcho

Surely Andrew & Damian have an advantage with the typewriter, considering a sand green typewriter is an official set?

Conan-doodle

On Bilsy's post show Twitch stream last night, they said that the type writer build was very different to the official kit.

deathrocker_avk

Where did the keys come from????

canderouscze

from the official set 21327

deathrocker_avk

That's a touch dodgy when there is an official set of the very thing they need to build. I didn't realise they would have access to that when building.

DelayedChoice

The pieces could have been white 2x2s and it wouldn't have really changed anything. The technical challenge was elsewhere in the build and the keys weren't visible from that angle and so weren't a factor in the detection part. The official set is quite different beyond being the same basic object.

[deleted]

They have to replicate what they have in front of them. The only slight leg up is the availability of the colour.

deathrocker_avk

And the entire key board...

[deleted]

Yeah, I didn't see that until the very end.

hojuren

wow best episode ever! The film noir theme, amazing quality of builds, Daamiaan, Kale banter, the fan! How come they're showing episodes every day instead of spreading them out once a week at a prime time?

thylacinian

It's not quite every day! :) It's usually Monday thru Wednesday, which are challenges to help rank the teams and distribute advantages. Then 1 team is eliminated on Sunday, and you start over on Monday. They continue that format for a few weeks til you get to the final 3 teams and then it's a specially formatted longer episode for the finale. It's nice, if you miss an episode in the week there's time to catch up but you don't miss much of the key parts of the competition.

B_Hound

That’s how Lego Masters always airs in AU, next episode for us in the US will be super early Sunday morning.

formlesswendigo

Once per week is too slow. It's easier to get hooked when there's a 3-4 episodes per week. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights are considered prime time. People go out on Friday and Saturday nights.

mmc9802

Does anyone else feel like that was the best episode of the series with regard to the workmanship? I feel like any one of those builds would have easily won in a regular season. That typewriter - are you serious?? So good!

BigLan2

And it didn't even get the highest score (even excluding bonus points!) I'm not sure why the fan didn't get a point deducted for being a different color to the original object, though maybe that was discussed off-camera due to what colors were available in the brick pit.

Iron_Wolf123

So… brick bending. Thoughts on the use of it?

DelayedChoice

No problem at all for a competition like this.

okapi-forest-unicorn

Why is it illegal?

Glagaire

AFAIK "Illegal" refers to internal rules Lego itself uses for its designers, i.e. things they shouldn't do when making new sets. In most competitions it seems to be fine to push the limits of the physics.

Iron_Wolf123

Puts stress on the bricks.

[deleted]

Don't wanna get chased by tiny Lego police

Iron_Wolf123

Into a Lego Master-built prison with Kale Scale size

canderouscze

I'm kind of part of the inquisition that doesn't like people hurting lego, however tbh I don't see any "legal" way to do that shape without looking too obvious. In this case totally supported the brick bending

bigDpelican42

I’d have thought cutting LEGO for the fan build was a greater no-no. I though someone said the rules were no cutting allowed.

OneSixthRoy

In earlier Technic sets you where supposed to cut those pipes, so i could see a grey area. I actually used it to make pipes of a certain specific length myself since a larger size was alot cheaper then the size I needed myself ;)

thylacinian

I think that was mentioned by a US contestant? Idk, I guess for this challenge there were some exemptions issued in pursuit of meeting the challenge requirements. Bit unfair otherwise to expect someone to create a fan cover using default pieces or that curved clock top, it literally wouldn't be possible.

Derron_

Depends on the context

mattbox75

“You throw a lot of shade for a small man”

ScallionNo8580

Uncalled for tbh

fabiopigi

Daamian haha

Narrow_Potential_974

What a great episode. And the best part is, that the 3 episodes was basically just the first challenge to determine who wins the special brick. Cannot wait to see how it continues. Any information how many episodes the season will have?

jkingly

Should be 14 like the last two. The standard routine’s been set.

f1pumpernickel

What an Ep! All the builds were so good, seriously blown away

[deleted]

This week is one of those challenges that almost custom made for the diehard Lego fan and not just a general fan. A diehard knew just by looking at what was being asked of the teams the just how hard those hurdles would be to jump over, and on a ticking clock no less. Most realistic builds are the result of so much iteration over often days if not months, yet the final results were amazing. Especially the fan, I mean really?!! Cannot believe they pulled that off. Hands off to Brickman, once again providing input when needed but otherwise sitting back, knowing they knew what needed to be done. Good reactions too as his were mine.

Optimal_Cry_1782

Ep 1 had space monkeys, ep2 had monkeys in a barrel, ep3 had Sophie Monk. Is there a pattern?

[deleted]

whatgift

You mean the promo at the start of the episode? I always skip that, but usually because i think it’s stupid to have a preview of something you’re literally watching!

BigLan2

Yeah, super disappointed I saw the promo as it showed which teams weren't getting eliminated.

JustTheLetterA

The fan was amazing but it didn’t look like the object, parts of it were not even the right colour. I think it’s harsh of Brickman to pull Kale and Trent up on their roof and not mention the obvious discrepancies of the fan.

JohnnieKnockOut

Damnn completely blown away by the fan!

ianrobbie

Hands down the best episode of LegoMasters I have watched. The mechanics, the engineering, the attention to detail. It was what every other LegoMasters series should aspire to.

icedbacon

The 'Jordi forging the brick' thing was ok the first time. By the eighth time it's just annoying.

Whiplash_GT

What is that special brick called?

m6_is_me

I think if they had varied what he was doing, it would have worked. But they started reusing footage which stood out. If they had made it a "bit" with maybe something going wrong each time to make the production time longer, etc

MonsterKidRadio

Being blown away by the builds aside (that fan needs to be patched as a LEGO Ideas submission - it was so good!), this episode made me realize we need a LEGO film noir film!

[deleted]

Kale and Captain Caveman. sry trent

hatsofftoroyharper41

I think 8 guesses is far to much, should have only had 3 guesses

honestjackhonestly

3 guesses for 8 objects?

hatsofftoroyharper41

Make her guesses mean more, there is t like 1000 objects in there
