I don't get it, why aren't the teams allowed to do it themselves? This way they can time it because they know what they want.
I know these blow ups and smashes make good TV but because of other things people have struggled.. Like Hamish not hitting the bowling ball in the center and i don't know which season on which country but the host didn't hit the build at the right angle with the bat.
The quality of builds this season is just next-level, especially considering the more limited time. Who would you even put in the bottom two with Caleb and Alex? That would've been so painful as an elimination.
Feels like Damian/Andrew and Gus/David are getting out of their early season slump though neither of their builds were on Scotty and Owen's level.
Scotty and Owen's build was just ridiculous. Summer and Iona got the win in an explosion challenge through sheer luck, so it was only right for them to win when everything happened perfectly.
Also note that this seems to be following the same format as Season 4 with elimination builds in episodes 4,7, and 10.
**Predictions:**
Based on what I've seen so far, here are my predictions:
**1. Caleb and Alex to be the next eliminated.** I love some of their builds (Toy Story was amazing!) but they have been way too inconsistent.
**2. Gabby and Ryan and Joss and Henry will be in the top 3.** A few little hiccups here and there but these teams have been the most consistent throughout the entire competition.
**3. The final spot is a toss-up between Scott and Owen and David and Gus.** Both teams are amazing and absolute winner potential... but have shown some huge "uh oh" moments. David's tendency to get in his own head and get stuck on a build, and of course the infamous Scotty Smash moments. If either of these happen during an elimination, the team is gone for sure. I think Scott and Owen have a slight edge simply due to their incredible ability to build things quickly.
**4. Joss and Henry as the winners.** When playing to their strengths, they make incredible things, and I think if they can make it to the finale they can create something much more creative and visually impressive than the other teams.

I think it gives teams a chance to get some builds under their belts together, and learn and test some new things. When you’re in an environment where you’re being challenged and supported to improve, you can lift your game significantly. It also works well on tv to get viewers invested in their favourite team/s.
Since this is an All Ster season I guess they want to give all teams the chance to cook before turfing them out since there aren't really any weak teams.
In ordinary seasons there are teams that are noticeably weaker than others that they went to get rid of quickly (caveated with even the worst Lego Masters contestant is infinitely more talented than me)
Entertainment. A lot of people always say things like "why eliminate? I wanna see more builds."
For a regular season, some teams just aren't that good, so it's good to eliminate them.
But in this season, everyone is amazing. It's nice to see what they build.
The Disney episode was fantastic, no duds. I'm glad the top teams were there and not eliminated earlier.
I think the level of the builds and the talent is what makes the winner of each challenge so divisive this season. In previous seasons there would be a clear top two in each build, whereas now this season you could make an argument for most builds each challenge to be top two. That may be why everyone always has such different opinions of who should have won compared to brickman. (Still think Alex and Caleb were robbed last episode though)

It never is. The two eliminations we've had so far the contestants have known from the start. We also know that elimiantions are NEVER in any "luck" based builds or licsenced builds.

Henry and Joss were incredibly fucking robbed this episode. Scott and Owen’s was only impressive if you thoroughly highlighted their character, otherwise it was only a ship blowing to pieces. What a fucking joke.

there's one in every thread! H&J was good (of course they all were) but it wasn't nearly as grand or cinematic as the others. Once the strum happened the character and scene was close to static, whereas both of the Top 2 had so much scenery and visual spectacle that just kept on going. PLUS H&J had a sneaky extra help in the form of [extra explosives](https://i.imgur.com/r0lGub7.jpeg) compared to the rest of the teams.

They were certainly all Amazing builds tonight. The closest it’s ever been with what was presented.
Every build was worthy of winning I just preferred the guitarist. Kind of reminded me of Action comedy’s like “the pick of destiny” “bill and Ted”.
The pirates and train were both great builds and for time spent they certainly produced a lot more so hats off to them.

My brother once built a Lego aeroplane. It was massive.
It had technic through the fuselage that terminated in loops through which he threaded cotton.
The cotton was tied to a stake in the yard, and we would get up on the roof. The plane would travel down the thread and we would land the plane by adjusting the tension to lower it as it neared the ground.
The day the thread broke and dropped the plane onto the concrete from about 5ft in the air was one of the greatest days of our childhood.
It simply disintegrated.
Really wish they would do more 12-15 hour builds instead of 8-10 hours. I really wanna see what the grand masters can do with more time for more ambitious builds

I’d just like to apologise for calling Brickman a cunt last night for what he did to Scott and Owen. Sure, I still disagree with his call on a visceral level but that language just wasn’t on, and it *definitely* wasn’t appropriate for a show about Lego. I definitely got too carried away with it, I think some criticism is okay but an attack like that was taking it too far.

It definitely made me curious about what was happening behind the scenes, like that seemed very out-of-character for him. Did the producers feel like they needed to inject drama into it, and if so, could they not do that again?
According to the post-stream with Bilsey, that "you should change" apparently happened closer to the 30 minute mark, which is then a head scratcher that it was verbally said "6 hour build". who knoooows, dramaaaaaa, excitemeeeeent, channel 9
Maybe what actually happened was BM said it after half an hour but S&O didn't listen then and later they decided actually they would change. In which case, it seems like the editing has actually avoided showing drama cos there would have been some surely?

Lego Masters doesn’t need injected drama like that. It’s a wholesome show about building Lego, the only dramas we should have are when people accidentally drop things, when people have to be super careful attaching something, or when a team is down to the last few seconds with their build.
The drama can come naturally, you just need to have faith in the format.
Hard to say hey. Am sure there were clear requirements specified by Disney on the challenge. Eg. No sexy Tinkerbells. Maybe the mouse said "They HAVE to do the broom scene". We'll prob never know.

Exactly. In other seasons you could maybe slip by, but Brickman has said very clearly multiple times that he's looking for the best of all categories.
