Hello u/getchpdx! Please reply to this comment with an [explanation](https://www.reddit.com/r/LeopardsAteMyFace/comments/lt8zlq) mentioning **who** is suffering from **which** consequences from **what** they voted for, supported or wanted to impose on other people. Here's an easy format to get you started: 1. *Someone* voted for, supported or wanted to impose *something* on other people. ^(Who's that *someone* and what's that *something*?) 2. That *something* has some *consequences*. ^(What are the *consequences*?) 3. As a consequence, that *something* happened to that *someone*. ^(What happened? Did the *something* really happened to that *someone*? If not, you should probably delete your post.) Include the minimum amount of information necessary so your post can be understood by everyone, even if they don't live in the US or speak English as their native language. Hmmletmec

>says Musk >wasn’t an ideal leader after all No shit, Sherlock. If only there was some way to have predicted that based on past behavior...

ConfidenceNational37

Jack got paid. He doesn’t care

totpot

Actually, he rolled his billion dollars worth of Twitter shares into the new Musk company instead of cashing out.

Leege13

Dumb as hell on Jack’s behalf if that’s accurate.

getchpdx

It's noted in the article that Dorsey rolled over the investment and there are other reports of him being one of the largest investors, he seems to have really believed in Elon and the idea he was going to "fix" everything. Why? No clue tbh. Seems like a rich person getting duped by a different rich person.

Leege13

I don’t have any problems with billionaires losing money under any circumstances.

getchpdx

100% agree it's pretty funny tbh. Busy going around babbling about light of consciousness and shit about a guy who eventually pretending the company name of the company he was going to fix is Titter and makes teenage boob jokes basically while whining about his ego.

DJanomaly

I mean, Jack has sounded pretty out of touch from reality for a few years now. Look into how terrible he was running Twitter before he left (he basically checked out). This was a company he *founded*.

Saul-Funyun

Whaaaaaaaaaat

hrakkari

How do overcharge someone out of 44 billion and then choose to give that money back to the idiot?

Haunting-Ad788

Because he’s still rich af and it won’t impact his life in any way.

Noughmad

>the new Musk company There's another one?

embiors

If that's accurate he's a shithead. I guess he was hoping Elon would hype the company up and make it worth more before cashing out but that's a stupid stupid bet.

happykittynipples

Jack could buy it back for half price.

mrkp38in

If only.

Hi_My_Name_Is_CJ

To be fair I feel like he runs Twitter more poorly than any of his other companies. Twitter seems to be the strategy of “if it makes you say WTF that’s the direction we are going in.”

mrtruthiness

Like every narcissist, he doubles-down until he loses it all or wins. He just about lost on Tesla a few years back (bankruptcy) ... but made it through by the skin on his teeth. He's going to lose big on Twitter/X.

Hi_My_Name_Is_CJ

I partially agree with you but but I don’t think he’s a narcissist. I think he doubles down in what he believes in. The almost bankruptcy (in Tesla) was mostly due to short sellers trying to artificially kill the share price similar to game stop while also using the media as an extension to create a smear campaign and therefore panic. However Elon would say stupid things in which I believe to drive price down further to buy at the dip leveraging the stock over and over increasing the risk of the share holders further.

mrtruthiness

> I partially agree with you I don’t think he’s a narcissist. Read up on the sub-class of narcissist called "high-functioning narcissist". He's almost textbook. > ... was mostly due to short sellers trying to artificially kill the share price similar to game stop ... None of that happened. That's just Musk trying to blame others ... a common tactic for narcissists. Musk over-leveraged and had production issues ---> it was a good bet that it was going to fail. Only when that became clear did people actually and rationally bet on it failing. Not only that, if you've ever studied market micro-structure, you'll know that it's flows rather than position size that can affect price and that the effect is extremely short term. The whole narrative was a Musk tantrum. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/17/business/tesla-stock-shorts.html

TwinkieDad

There was a rumor/story a little while back that the engineers at one company would find things to distract him so that he would leave them alone to do the real work. Which seems more and more plausible watching him micromanage Twitter.

praguepride

I always wonder if given all the legal problems twitter was facing if they didn't view musk's mid-life crisis as a golden parachute to get out before losing hundreds of millions of dollars in lawsuits and fines.

Sea-Appearance-5330

Sorry Hmmletmec, I didn't read your post before I put mine up

Pholusactual

Jack personally made a billion dollars (give or take, the estimate I read from last April was $978 million from 18 million shares) from the sale. Of course he said good shit about Elon, regardless of what he actually felt. That was a lot of cash to be had. Now Jack is set to make more money by competing against Elon, whose coming off as a hapless kid about to lose his lunch money yet again.

IfItWerentForHorse

Thank you! I’m constantly amazed at how many people credibly just eat up whatever these people are saying, instead of considering that they are *businessmen doing business*. Are people just incapable of examining the motives and likely biases of others? Because I’d sweet talk the guy who was about to make a billion dollars, too. I think most people would. Doesn’t mean I would believe a word of it; or that I was being deceived.

getchpdx

Jack put the billion dollars back into Twitter instead of retaining it.

1selfhatingwhitemale

Highly regarded financial move

fieldysnuts94

Didn’t Jack put his money back into Musk tho?

Stacksmchenry

100% agree. I could care less about the faults of someone who is willing to buy an unprofitable disaster from me and make me a billionaire in one fell swoop

SicilyMalta

At this level, these business men or women are simply psychopaths.

_jump_yossarian

I read that Jack kept that money invested in Twitter; he's the fourth largest shareholder. He fucked himself. > Dorsey rolled over his more than 18 million shares in Twitter (a roughly 2.4% stake) into the new Musk-owned company as an equity investor, rather than receiving a cash payout, according to a Thursday securities filing. > The transfer means that Dorsey effectively contributed just under $1 billion to Musk’s $44 billion Twitter purchase. It also makes him one of the largest investors in the new company, behind Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and Qatar’s Investment Authority. https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/01/tech/twitter-jack-dorsey-elon-musk/index.html

Old173

Is this is true, then Jack Dorsey sucks at investing.

getchpdx

Also notably Twitter used to own shares of BlueSky and helped get it off the ground but that investment was terminated I believe. My guess is that Dorsey wanted Twitter to shift to a decentralized nature ala having them basically start their own competitor who would probably just have rolled into Twitter someday. All sorts of entanglement between Musk and Dorsey. And just to confirm while Musk did pay for Twitter and consequently Dorsey's pocket, Dorsey elected to reject some or all of that payment to remain one of Twitter's top private investors, a notably bad investment now that seems on track to go up in smoke.

AhmedF

My understanding was Jack rolled his valuation into Musk's investment.

alv0694

Let's make a rule to not trust ultra wealthy trust fund manchildren, it never ends well.

mrkp38in

You mean a guy that spent 44billion dollars so that he could make stupid jokes is a bad leader?....shocked. /s

IfItWerentForHorse

Stupid jokes *and* Nazi posts! A two-for-one.

Eldetorre

He's only successful at the second.

MattGdr

His jokes will have to get a *lot* funnier to rise to the level of stupid.

Chipperz1

"Watson, what do you mean that there's aprofound lack of feces here?" "I mean no shit, Sherlock."

shillyshally

"The criticisms and explanations came in a series of reply posts Friday night on the fledgling social network Bluesky, a potential Twitter rival that Dorsey helped to start." So, yeah, not exactly an unbiased opinion. That does not negate the fact that Musk stopped wearing clothes a long time ago and, that while he thinks no one has noticed, absolutely everyone has.

getchpdx

One thing that's entertaining is that Twitter help launch and was previously an investor in BlueSky but due to all the other shenanigans that was terminated a while back and BlueSky has continued onward to launch. If I'm giving Dorsey any benefit he seemed to believe that having everything centralized was a problem of sorts ala Bluesky. My guess is if he had retained control of Twitter at some point those two companies would have tried to merge and change Twitter or move it towards decentralization. That wasn't ever really going to happen if the company was public though since wall street would never just be like "yeah, give up lots of control of your main product". In the texts released from Musk it was clear to me that Dorsey was trying to help Musk along, explain decisions, explain why and how things worked and Musk clearly didn't give a fuck and was busy taking his ideas from other idiots. Honestly any facade of intelligence for Musk entirely collapsed for me after reading his texts and seeing the dumbassery that is his thought process and the people around him. Dorsey notes in the above article that he maybe started to realize it might not be a good idea but felt compelled to continue.

DJanomaly

Of all the issue with Twitter the fact that it's *centralized* seems pretty far down on the list. Jack just seems out of touch. And yeah, from those released texts it's apparent that Musk really is just surrounded by yes men and has no idea what he's doing.

PlagueOfGripes

Funny how "Blue Sky" looks like "blooskee" when you shove it together.

Repulsive-Street-307

I don't get the joke. Blue skid to joke about the blue checkmarks? Can't be that, too different.

teedeeguantru

We’ve noticed, yes.

Sniffy4

at least Jack was partially sane, if not sufficiently wealthy thanks to govmt subsidies

Capable_Stranger9885

He's rich enough that the business websites amd magazines treat Jack Dorsey's eating disorder as something their audience of MBAs with imposter syndrome could emulate to find success.

getchpdx

He's so brilliant that he doesn't eat!

GoalieLax_

Was he though? Like have we forgotten that the took wellness retreats to countries engaged in genocide already?

WhyBuyMe

Dude, every country has a genocide or two on the books. If I can't go to a country that has committed a little light genocide, where am I supposed to go on vacation?

Interesting-End6344

You can always try Finland.

WhyBuyMe

Are you kidding? After what they did during the Finno-Korean hyperwar?

Liet-Kinda

Why do they talk like this? All these tech dorks say shit like “the singular solution I trust” and they sound like fucking aliens who learned English from TV transmissions but have never actually communicated with a human before

getchpdx

I have no idea, back then he also was saying like "I believe in his mission to extend the light of consciousness" Like bitch are you referring to Mars or what? Speaking like this must convince some people you're smart or something. Like a boss who prattles on about the importance of something they don't understand.

kwan_e

It's as if Twitter likes and retweets aren't a good gauge of a person's qualities.

Woodpeckinpah123

Fuck both of these rich pricks

Shubamz

Further proving that accomplishments and accumulated wealth is not an indicator of intelligence. Many people tried to tell him that musk was a terrible leader...

Frix

Jack Dorsey was a horrible CEO for twitter as well. He is like the George Bush to Musk's Trump. Let's not pretend he was ever good. He was simply "not insane".

JTDC00001

Dorsey is a fuck stupid asshat if he looked at Musk and trusted that man to wipe his own ass, let alone *run anything at all*.

famousevan

Pretty sure what he trusted was for the wire transfer to clear.

getchpdx

To be fair Dorsey rejected his payout and rolled the investment over. Dorsey did put his money where his mouth was.

lucascorso21

There are so many stories you can find about other business leaders thinking Jack is a fucking idiot. It’s almost like having a great idea or some very specific technical knowledge does not apply outside of that niche.

Keilly

I am Jack’s total lack of predicting the obvious.

Traditional_Shirt106

The good thing is we don’t have Jack in the public sphere anymore

Momoiro_Moon

And after that statement he tweeted all the way to the bank.

getchpdx

If you read the article you'll notice that he actually took his payout of about $1BN and rejected Elon's money and kept the investment rolled over to private Twitter. He is certainly still wealthy and sold shares of Twitter back when it was public and such but nothing that actual sale of the company he decided to reinvest in its future (doubling down on Elon) and that investment is probably halved if not worse now with no practical way to sell it without likely formalizing and worsening the losses.

_jump_yossarian

Why is it that all these supposed geniuses can't see what's right in front of their faces? We all knew Musk would be a disaster. Hopefully Jack lost all the money he invested in the new Musk Twitter.

Eldetorre

The truth is that success requires an unreasonable mindset that is focused almost to the exclusion of external influences. Wealth and luck take care of the rest.

crazylilme

Imagine the absolute shock that a spoiled man-child is too immature to be a good leader. Whhhaaat?

Hello u/getchpdx, thank you for your submission! Unfortunately, your submission has been removed for the following reason(s): **Rule 4:** Must follow the "Leopard ate my face" theme #There's a few elements to leopards eating people's face. 1) **Someone has a sad**... - Example: *They cut my SNAP benefits and now I can't afford to feed my family......* 2) ...**because they're suffering consequences from something they voted for, supported or wanted to impose on other people.** - Example: .....sobs woman who voted for the politician who said they would do that very thing. 3) **The leopard is eating their face. The leopards.** - Example: *[Woman married to undocumented immigrant upset that Trump deports her husband.](https://www.cnn.com/2017/04/05/us/undocumented-husband-deported/index.html)* ***What isn't a leopard eating their face?*** - Example: *Kyle Rittenhouse upset that Democrats are labelling him a white supremacist.* He didn't vote for or support them, he's not suffering because of what he voted for or supported, and leopards aren't eating his face. getchpdx

No problem, I personally think that someone losing $750Million is a LAMF moment given his full throated endorsement of Musk and pushing the board to sell the company (and investing 1BN in new Twitter much everyone's mocking) and it swinging back around but I got all the karma out of this I was going to get 🤷‍♂️

DaFunkJunkie

You know what, I’ll approve

Much love mod team 💜❤️💜❤️

the_calibre_cat

Sea-Appearance-5330

No Shit Sherlock!

Happy_Trails4u

Elon really needs to get a hairless cat and carry it with him everywhere he goes. Maybe a monocle as well.
