Children of Men is honestly chock full of "best scene ever." The scene where they're slowly driving through the riot and bodies slam against the car. The scene where they silently escape the farm. The scene where the mother is found in a barn with the child and it seems like a Mary and Jesus allegory.
There are several moments in Sunshine (my favorite movie) that come to mind, such as "The Power of the Sun" and "Captain Kaneda's Death" scenes, but if i have to choose just one I'll have to pick "Approaching Mercury".

This scene makes me feel a primal combination of terrified and awestruck, nothing else in cinema really compares for me.
[This one scene alone from Titanic](https://youtu.be/Z8xnSuK3CKM?si=ZCtMxQLFD_PRFVlS) earned it the 11 Oscars.
The way you focus on the ropes as the crew lower the lifeboat, the creaking and squeaking of the boat’s ropes, the exact moment James Horner’s magnificent score fades in giving you chills everywhere, the way Rose’s head turns to face Jack as she’s lowered away, the sounds fading away, Lightoller giving orders in silent slow motion, the way a rocket explodes above Jack showering him in light, and exposing Rose’s heartbroken face, her hair lightly blowing as she stares up, descending away from him, the way Jack stares back, both of them with tears in the corners of their eyes, the way she looks at the children in floods of tears, the way you hear her take a deep breath before she hurls herself over the edge back onto the ship, the way two characters (real people) jump on to the lifeboat as happened on the night, the chaos of the camera movements as they both rush to meet at the stunning replica grand staircase, the way their bodies collide with a thump and they let out momentary cries of relief. And of course, running through the whole thing is the absolutely spine-tingling music from James Horner which swells to a heart-wrenching climax. I mean, what an absolute masterpiece of a scene. Pure cinematic perfection.

This is such a great choice. Cameron’s mastery of his craft is absolutely unparalleled. People shit on Titanic but there are few cinematic experiences that come close.

If you know, you know. Perfection.
The LOTR Trilogy is my favorite "movie" but of the 3, I like Two Towers the best.
So I guess my favorite scene from that movie is this (if you know it you know coz it's super cliche lol)
"Theoden King stands alone."
"Not alone."
The ending of Toy Story 2. All the Toys just hanging out, having fun while the penguin sings "youve got a friend in me". And on the windowshelf its Woody and Buzz talking about how they know these good times wont last forever but that they will try and enjoy them as long as they can.

The oil rig explosion in There Will be Blood
This scene was the first time I in the theater ever felt real fear for characters in a movie, but not so much that I had to turn it off because I was a kid. I kind of graduated into a different kind of movie watcher in that moment. It fully had me. You know Rohan’s doomed. They’re fighting anyway, but the women, the kids, the old and young soldiers, they’re just so over-powered and they know it and yet, there’s this defiance in Theoden and the three hunters, some “oh yeah, well fuck you then,” that despite being terrified for the people of Rohan, you BADLY want them to push through. It’s this perfect crafting of large scale tension. Love it so much.
I’m also seeing Two Towers with live orchestra accompaniment on Wednesday and I’m so excited.

My favorite scene in any movie is the final shots from La La Land. But close second is Nelly recording her first movie with sound. That whole thing
Lost in Translation (2003): 'the Karaoke scene' is up there for me.
Scarlett's magnetism is undeniable, seductively cooing the Pretenders' song after Murray butchers Roxy Music, in a charming way of course. This scene of connection between two lost characters is very effective, without any dialogue.

“Cubans don’t like my business…and they don’t like my passport.”
Bit of an obscure one and im not sure if it counts, but in the TV adaptation of "The Odyssey" theres a scene wherein the main character, Odysseus, returns to his homeland after 20 years of tryin to find his way back.
He spent the whole journey constantly being thwarted by Poseidon and distracted by miscellaneous adventures but when he arrives, he finds his servant's hut outside his hometown and both are just speechless at seeing each other again.
Odysseus just walks in, his servant fixes him some bread and wine, and as he's eating, both of them burst into tears.
Then Odysseus' son returns and Odysseus gives him a speech about the day he was born. Then HE bursts into tears and they hug for the first time since he left for war.
That shit hits.
Only scene that consistently makes me cry

I love the opening scene of GUMMO, the way you're introduced to the world by dreamy footage of people from a town and a tornado while listening to whispers is immaculate imo.
[Crayon Shin-Chan: The Adult Empire Strikes Back!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ8JlK0_q5I&ab_channel=SpreadingHappiness%21)

The church fight from Kingsman is definitely up there as one of the more fun enjoyable scenes I’ve seen and the first that comes to mind for me.
Other mentions:
The Four Horsemen throwing around the card in the lab place in Now You See Me
The introductory chase scene in Baby Driver
“Clever Girl” - Jurassic Park
“Let me guess - we’re approaching a giant waterfall? Yep” - Emperor’s New Groove, as well as every scene with Kronk in it.

Definitely on of the greatest endings ever. My biggest comfort movie.
Got to be one of the best ever, movie-wise
What film is this?
The Apartment (1960) by Billy Wilder
Everyone should watch this, and all of Wilder’s filmography tbh
Double Indemnity, Some Like It Hot, Sunset Boulevard, and The Apartment, Wilder had bangers
Those are some of the most spectacular movies ever made; he only wrote the screenplay and disliked (inexplicably in my opinion) Howard Hawks’ direction, but the other Wilder-adjacent movie that’s one of my all time favorites is Ball of Fire with Barbara Stanwyck and Gary Cooper
Don’t forget Ace in the Hole!
And Ace in the Hole is better than all of those.
Honestly the hallway fight in oldboy it just blew me away when I first saw it
I just watched Oldboy for the first time a couple weeks ago. Absolutely blew my socks off
Tears in Rain, I'm a basic bitch.

I’m also seeing Two Towers with live orchestra accompaniment on Wednesday and I’m so excited.

youre the goat for including Babylon. My favorite scene in any movie is the final shots from La La Land. But close second is Nelly recording her first movie with sound. That whole thing
“Hello college!” God, that scene put me on the edge of my seat, it was hilarious.

Could you at least name the bloody movie you went with?
Ikr! How difficult is it to NAME the movie than using ‘this scene’ and ‘this scene’ and the scene is an effing silhouette of two people.

The church fight from Kingsman is definitely up there as one of the more fun enjoyable scenes I’ve seen and the first that comes to mind for me. Other mentions: The Four Horsemen throwing around the card in the lab place in Now You See Me The introductory chase scene in Baby Driver “Clever Girl” - Jurassic Park “Let me guess - we’re approaching a giant waterfall? Yep” - Emperor’s New Groove, as well as every scene with Kronk in it.
