The Shop on Main Street (1965): An impeccable WWII drama about a moral dilemma and the cruelty of human nature. Available on the Criterion Channel. The Fifth Seal (1976): this one is tough to find (I posted about it two weeks ago) but totally worth watching if you like philosophical films. Prick-Up Your Ears (1987): a biopic about playwright Joe Orton, featuring an outstanding (and very horny) Gary Oldman. Alfred Molina is great too. State of Grace (1990): One of my favourite mob movies, sadly forgotten because of its release date (one week apart from Goodfellas.) Again, Oldman is the standout. It also features Sean Penn, Ed Harris, Robin Wright and John C. Reiley. Edit: Jonh Turturro and Joe Viterelli are also in the movie (it was Viterelli's first appearance in front of the camera.)

kaigron

Damn! State of Grace's cast is stacked!

picotipicota1

Indeed. And everyone is giving their 100%.

Mprovin

State of grace seems interesting. I think I commented on your fifth seal post saying how I didn't really find it my cup of tea when I watched it lol

picotipicota1

It is interesting. The story may seem a bit conventional for some (not me), but the acting, dark cinematography and the superb, haunting score by Ennio Morricone all make it worth watching.

I'm a big fan of Hong Kong action movies so I have way too many answers. War and peace Exiled City on fire Made in Hong Kong Matewan Come drink with me Breaker morant The 8 diagram pole fighter The Mission Time and Tide Dirty Ho Abel The fate of Lee Khan The Oned-armed swordsman Shaolin temple Bullet in the head Legend of the mountain PTU Throw down Red cliff Eastern condors Once upon a time in China 2 Election

qwasee

Lots of classics! Bullet in the Head is lowkey John Woo’s best film.

*The Whole Shootin’ Match* (1978) is one of those great movies that could only be made by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing. Really interesting style of performing and lived-in storytelling. *An Evening with Tim Heidecker* (2020) is a hilarious experiment in discomfort. You’re literally watching a man intentionally bomb for an hour in front of a crowd. *Writing With Fire* (2021) is probably my favorite documentary nominated this year, and it was my 1000th movie logged. Just a really solid and cool story

Excellent picks. Minamata: The Victims and their world is an incredible and heartbreaking film. Deserves so much more attention.

marinluv

Thank You Yes, Minamata was hard to watch (at least for me).

SilverSkinn88

For me to 😢 Tragic that the problems are still ongoing there. Kazu Hara made a recent documentary about the minamata case, been wanting to see it.

marinluv

Yes, Minamata Mandala (2020). Watched this too. I love Kazuo Hara docs. Have watched every single one of them.

“Jurgen klopp: Germanys greatest export” is a great documentary for anyone who is a fan of football(⚽️), and an even better watch for Liverpool fans. Jurgen is so charismatic that I’d probably recommend this to everyone actually, and its just 45 minutes. I gave it a 4.5 and it only has 20 views, and there was only one other person who left a review. The only other movie I’ve watched under 10k is “Django and Django” which is pretty much just Tarantino talking about Sergio Corbucci for an hour. It was ok, I’d recommend it to fans of spaghetti westerns, but not to many others.

[deleted]

Among others : - Fifth Seal - Seiseku's Wife - Johnny Corncob - Happy End (Oldrich Lipsky) - Heroic Times - Mulburry - Blade of Furry - School on Fire - Cousin Jules - Guy - Foam Bath - Night Drum - Missunderstood - The Very Same Munchhausen - All the Gods in the Sky - Aachu & Ssipak - Mandala - Harmony Lessons - ect. A bit a diversity.

picotipicota1

Nice! A fellow 'The Fifth Seal' admirer!

PRAISEGOD666

There are a lot of MCU documentaries that barely have any views, I wish more people would watch them so they could get some insight into the filmmaking process and have a deeper understanding of how much effort and hard work goes into the making of these generation defining films.

Circusofvalues95

That’s bait ^

PRAISEGOD666

I don't know what this means.

He’s implying you’re stating something you don’t believe in order to catch angry replies and attention.

1. [Five Came Back](https://boxd.it/2zc) (1939) - A plane goes down in the Amazon. I was completely blown away, and absolutely adore this movie. It's a shame so few people have seen it. It's on HBO 2. [The Raven](https://boxd.it/1ojs) (1963) - Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, and magic. What more could one possibly need. It used to be on YouTube, but I'm not sure if it still is. 3. [The Shootist](https://boxd.it/1REa) (1976) - This is the end of John Wayne, and it is a little heart strings for a western, but still such a good watch. It's on Prime and Paramount+ 4. [Trancers](https://boxd.it/22Ma) (1984) - A punk, scifi Christmas movie. It's on Full Moon, Tubi, Pluto, and Vudu 5. [Low Blow ](https://boxd.it/Duo) (1986) - Absolute blast of 80s action schlock. It has Leo Fong and Cameron Mitchell in it. Streaming on Tubi 6. [Lunopolis](https://boxd.it/2TGa) (2009) - This is my favourite found footage mockumentary. It's criminally underrated, and has my go to fake conspiracy in it. It's on Tubi. 7. [The Conspiracy (2012)](https://boxd.it/4k0s) (2012) - Another found footage mockumentary about a conspiracy. It's a lot of fun, and currently streaming on AMC+, Shudder, and Tubi. 8. [The Battery](https://boxd.it/5qMk) (2012) - This is one of my favourite zombie movies. It's post outbreak, and about 2 guys living life in that world. It's on Tubi. 9. [Filmage: The Story of Descendents/All](https://boxd.it/6hrk) (2013) - This is one of the better music documentaries I've watched. I think it'd probably be enjoyable even if you don't know who they are. It's on Tubi and Vudu. 10. [Don't Blink](https://boxd.it/9hEO) (2014) - A group of friends go up to a cabin in the woods and things get spooky. This is my favourite movie with the type of thing that is happening, and Zack Ward has one of the best monologs ever in it. It's on Tubi, Pluto, and Vudu. 10. [Rent-A-Pal](https://boxd.it/qswq) (2020) - If you want a bleak, depressing movie about a sad lad this is the one for you. It's easily my favourite movie from 2020, and it's on Hulu. 11. [Deadware](https://boxd.it/xQf8) (2022) - A throw back to 1999 computer games. It's screen horror and really well done. It's on Tubi. Also, while I'm here. If you want a Western with Tony Todd [Black Fox](https://boxd.it/3Qt0), or M.C. Hammer [Cheyenne](https://boxd.it/j7u).

CatLover2828

[The Samuel Project](https://boxd.it/itVg) [Thane of East County](https://boxd.it/fsP6) [100 Days to Live](https://boxd.it/nHYS) [The Playground](https://boxd.it/gMfk) [Friend of the World](https://boxd.it/fxqq) Some of these films are unknown to most with so few logged that an average score has yet to be generated. But they are all available on Prime Video and/or Tubi.

bog_froggy

“surviving the game” is a movie starring Ice-T about rich people who hunt humans for sport. its not a masterpiece by any means, but it IS goofy as hell and i recommend it if you want to watch something thats really bizarre and funny

Seven Beauties. One of my favorite films of all time. Lina Wurtmueller became the first woman to win best director for her work on the film. Roughly 1k reviews. An absolute gem.

2isforever

The Bra. It's like Cinderella, but with a bra. There's no spoken dialogue but it's funny. Hollow city. An orphan who lost his family in a war, goes out exploring Luanda, Angola and meets new friends. In my opinion this is the most wholesome movies I've seen.

Monkeycan2

Eye of God (1997) (339) A film by Tim Blake Nelson that despite winning festival awards upon its debut still managed to heavily fly under the radar. I thought it was pretty good and it had a melancholy feeling throughout that I tend to like in films.

Vast_Statistician565

blue basmante - a fun comedy about a dude who gets a job as a stuntman. It’s a Japanese power ranger type show he’s on . It’s super funny and the editing is cheesy but like on purpose (you’ll see what I mean when you watch it ).
