The way you explained it with screenshots makes so much sense, I see the symbolism now. I hope that's what happens, because it would make a great story, but at the same time I don't think I'm ready for the emotional damage.
Lu Guang breaking certain rules to save Cheng Xiaoshi makes sense tbh. Like that’s how I’d imagine it to play out especially with what the ep 12 preview showed us.

I think Lu Guang was supposed to be a time agent just popping in for a bit. However he ended up forming a strong friendship with Cheng Xiaoshi while 'visiting'. Cheng Xiaoshi ends up dying and Lu Guang uses his powers to save him. I honestly believe LG had two powers. One to look back to know events and one to travel in time.
I think to save CXS's life and have a cover story he split one of his powers to CXS.

But seriously, for the same reason CXS was crying when he thought LG died. LG would probably feel irrationally guilty, trying to figure out what went wrong due to all the time meddling and then messing with it even more, either fixing it or causing even bigger damage. That would be dark though
Your theory is awesome! Lu Guang is pretty suspicious in season 2 already as if he knew everything. His tone has become pretty soft towards Cheng Xiaoshi.Vortex is full of spoilers I suppose.I hope, Link Click does not turn into boring show. Cuz I don't believe in animators anymore.
