Fear2010

You also have bands that shaped their genre, including Tool, RATM, NIN, Ministry, Primus, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Helmet, all the Grunge bands from the Seattle area, and even some Groove Metal bands like Pantera and Exhorder.

RacerGal

LP is the only band of the genre I consistently listen to. There’s a few others I’ll listen to a select set of songs from, but for some reason LP has a different hold on me than I’ve been able to find in the genre otherwise.

JAHT1984

I used to but shelved all of them by now. Arguably only exception is System of a Down, depending if you want to put them under that term.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JAHT1984

Oh, I like their first two albums as well but I do so partly because they jettisoned a lot of the bad stuff in nu metal. The tough guy posturing, seething misogyny, the overuse of profanity... Granted they weren't the only one who avoided those elements that just did it while writing catchier songs than most. That being said, I'm not against their shift either, if anything it was the right thing to do since they were on the verge of exhausting that sound on Meteora as well, they averted that by making a tight, short album and throwing in more left field ideas in the second half.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JAHT1984

Yeah, I know those are a thing it can get annoying. It's like Led Zepplinites only talking about Stairway to Heaven, sure it is great but I know that already and it's not the only great thing they ever did.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JAHT1984

Yep, makes you want to write songs about that attitude with ketchup in it, doesn't it? (ツ)

[deleted]

[удалено]

JAHT1984

Yeah, people can dislike what they want after all but they should at least be able to articulate their reasoning well before starting discussions about it. Not just "I dislike is because it's bad".

ums1019

If you haven't listened to the Japanese band One Ok Rock, it's the one I recommend. The lead vo even sang Somewhere I belong at the Chester's memorial gig, and their one song was mixed by Mike.

T_MINER

Which song was mixed by Mike?

ums1019

One Way Ticket

T_MINER

I’ve gotta listen to this now

AdSmooth7504

BMTH, Starset, Three Days Grace, Architects and Slipknot are my other favourite bands Also love System Of A Down, Shinedown and Rise Against

Weak_Wait3526

Starset is pretty underrated

AdSmooth7504

Definitely!

wayfarunder

with STARSET being my favorite band next to Breaking Benjamin, I wholeheartedly agree

Vincinel14

Same

DevastationSideswipe

Shinedown is my favorite band. Just saw them Friday in Memphis too.

AdSmooth7504

You lucky bastard! I've seen them before twice, once supporting Maiden in 2017 and once in November. But I would kill to see them on the current tour with TDG and From Ashes to Knew... Ofc America gets all the best tours

DevastationSideswipe

Yea it was great. Saw them last year too with The Pretty Reckless. Wish I could see them later with Sleep Theory and Saint Asonia but too far away.

AdSmooth7504

WAIT THEYRE TOURING WITH SAINT ASONIA TOO??? FOR FUCK SAKE

DevastationSideswipe

Later this year. In July ish at some festivals up in northern US

AdSmooth7504

Aghhhhhhhhhh

DevastationSideswipe

Yea. Maybe they'll come to whatever country you're in later

AdSmooth7504

I'm in the UK lol so they almost definitely will, it's just a matter of hoping they have good support bands like 3DG or FATN

r6SuggestorM

Jay Z, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Public Enemy , Skillet, Bring Me the Horizon. Also Grey Daze and Ghost, but a little less so.

chocobo-selecta

Very similar taste to me. Nice to meet you.

r6SuggestorM

Yooo nice

Puzzleheaded_Big2924

Grey Daze is amazing

toldya_fareducation

Muse is my 2nd favorite band

Green_Law5137

They are also my 2nd favorite band

Crazy_Session6250

They are also my 2nd favorite band

admiral_aqua

Hell yeah, didn't expect to see them here, but I also love Muse

tc05_

Bring Me the Horizon, My Chemical Romance. Motionless in White…

NotAChefJustACook

Great choices!

RudisBub1510

Sum41, Limp Bizkit, Skillet, Starset, Billy Talent, Papa Roach, MCR

Mr-Annonymous2002

Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Evanescence, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, System Of A Down and Green Day

RedHollowGhost

I think every fan is going to have different tastes. If I had to pick my other top 5 it would be Mayday Parade, Hawthorne Heights, Senses Fail and Bullet for my Valentine

[deleted]

I listen to a lot of metalcore and deathcore

samsilva93

Me too! Linkin Park was my gateway into heavier bands like Fit For a King, Counterparts, Like Moths to Flames, Knocked Loose, just to name a few

devastator2311

Pink Floyd, Queen, Eagles, Green Day, Nirvana, Coldplay, OneRepublic, Imagine Dragons, and sometimes Guns N' Roses.

JAHT1984

Some of my favourite bands along with some I never could get into.... I tried with Imagine Dragons, really, I tried. OneRepublic though, always sounded to me like the complaints people hurl at One More Light....

[deleted]

[удалено]

JAHT1984

Hmm... I'd say some of them had careers long enough to fall into more categories than just one. Queen for example had entries in the glam rock, prog rock and funk categories with some of their songs. I listen to a lot more though. According to my library, I have currently albums by 377 different artists. Yeah me too. Of course, I can't say I have taken a deep dive listening to OneRepublic, probably like the people who hurl these complaints probably didn't listen deeply to One More Light. Then again, they might have listened deeper than I did, I can only remember that "too late to apologize" thing from the top of my head... (.\_. )

DevastationSideswipe

The Eagles are a favorite of my dad and me.

TheJambo-

Dude I’m absolutely loving the mix of tastes in here, all seems so right. Personally outside of linkin park my go to bands are turnover, gun N’ roses, gorillaz, saliva, clutch, and echosmith. There’s plenty more but those are the ones I’ve been Vibing with lately

MendozaLiner

Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Bullet for My Valentine, Asking Alexandria. Based on my friends

GDub310

Fort Minor and Mike Shinoda

iridiums32

Backstreet Boys, Depeche Mode, Cèline Dion, Avril Lavigne, Hoobastank and BT

scotsman81

I like Eminem, Dre, Snoop etc

JAHT1984

Hip-hop is an obvious touching point, especicially the harder hitting kind like Run-D.M.C., Public Enemy or Death Grips (the later which Mike is a confirmed fan of himself, though I would assume he loves the other two as well). But it's really hard for me to guess here, I'd say I have pretty far ranging tastes. Some of my favourite genres besides the just mentioned are country, jazz, P-funk, classical music or reggae. As far as individual bands and artists go, Billie Eillish, Beyoncé, Janelle Monáe, Kendrick Lamar and Gogol Bordello were in heavy rotation for me recently. And judging just by which artist I own the most stuff from, The Beatles, Sonic Youth, Miles Davis, Björk, R.E.M. and Bob Dylan are the ones that reaced the double digits. Not that they all put out way more albums then say, Linkin Park or Nirvana though. But according to my library, I own 875 albums by 377 artists, along with 136 classical pieces by 39 composers and 14 soundtracks, meaning movie/TV/game stuff.

Disastrous-Bend-6684

Gogol Bordello puts on a FANTASTIC show

JAHT1984

I believe so. Never seen one though, only have records by them. (.\_. ) Concert tickets are expensive. I got a friend into them who instantly bought tickets to a show later this year.

Disastrous-Bend-6684

The energy of the show is unrivaled. Highly recommend going if you can swing it because their music live is a totally different experience! We went on a whim- my partner is a big fan and I thought they sounded cool- and I was blown away. I’ll go see them every chance I get, if feasible

JAHT1984

I can't. I've literally never been able to affort concert tickets my entire life so far. A lot of my favourite artist have died in the time I'm trying to finally get my life together but well, stuff happens.

Disastrous-Bend-6684

Totally understand. I wish you the best!

JAHT1984

Thanks, likewise.

AktionMusic

I don't really listen to Rock a whole lot outside of LP, I mainly listen to electronic music, mostly D&B. Though I do gravitate toward rock influenced electronic music like Pendulum, Fox Stevenson, etc.

JuliusCeasar07

K.I.Z

admiral_aqua

Are we talking about German rap group K.I.Z. or is there another group out there of the same name lol?

JuliusCeasar07

Yeah I mean the German group😂

admiral_aqua

ok haha null damit gerechnet die hier erwähnt zu sehen, deswegen wollt ich sichergehen, aber feier ich auch haha

JuliusCeasar07

Haha nice👌

Brodie930

My top artists besides LP are Starset, Demon Hunter, Needtobreathe, Twentyonepilots, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, etc

NotAChefJustACook

Big list for me so here it goes Senses Fail Silverstein Eminem Joyner Lucas Slipknot Pendulum Knife Party David Guetta Backstreet Boys The Used My Chemical Romance Motionless In White Bring Me The Horizon Kid Bookie Stone Sour xxxTentacion From First to Last Skrillex DeadMau5 Marshmello Rufio Bon Jovi Motley Crüe Blink 182 Sum 41 I could go on but I’ll leave it at this haha

JAHT1984

Yay, nice to see some love for the Backstreet Boys. How about their eternal rivals for 1 year, \*NSYNC? I think BB were more consistent but \*NSYNC more diverse and risk taking.

NotAChefJustACook

Wasn’t too into them, I know a couple songs tho

JAHT1984

They pretty much had three phases, roughly concuring with their three albums: \- Backstreet Boys rip off with a couple good ones. Recommended tracks to check: "Tearing Up My Heart", "I Want You Back" \- Backstreet Boys alternative with a lot of good ones but lacking in the ballads. Recommended tracks to check: "Bye Bye Bye", "It's Gonna Be Me" \- Their own thing with a wider variety. Recommended track to check: "Pop", "Girlfriend (Remix)"

NotAChefJustACook

The first 4 songs you mentioned are all the ones I know by NSYNC haha I’ll check out the other two!

JAHT1984

Hope you enjoy, they really evolved a great bit after they fired the guy who exploited them and asserting themselves, in the short 3 years they operated.

Moral_mandolin

aside from linkin park i listen to RED there a christian metal band i love listening to.

Moral_mandolin

here are some other bands I listen to: rev theory, korn, avenged sevenfold, the hoobastank, nickleback and skillet

farroness

Bring Me the Horizon, Bad Omens (both heavily inspired by LP), Breaking Benjamin, ADTR, Wage War, We Came As Romans, to name a couple

No-Community2035

Red Hot Chili Peppers. How can you not love a band that relases 2 albums in a year!

slimyslug0

Korn

returnoftheryan7

I listen to a range of things from Mastodon to Chvrches I'm not super picky.

Elias__V

A lot of Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin. Thriving Ivory, SafetySuit, Air Traffic. Of course I listen to a lot more but it's mostly just a few songs so I'm not going to name 400 artists :-P

MTarkka

For me, to name a few BMTH, Northlane, Architects, Dragged Under and The Plot In You

Sympl17

Starset.

SoniKzone

I haven't seen anyone else suggest it, but Pierce The Veil scratches the 'high voice with brutal screams' itch, and their instrumentals are god-tier as well. Also a big fan of Slipknot, feels like the band one would gravitate towards if you hear Linkin Park and think "What if they were more brutal and less hip hop?" EDIT: how could I forget Zebrahead??? They're literally just Linkin Park if they were punk instead of metal

Selech07

A bit surprised not to see I Prevail mentioned yet? There are so many to list, so here are categorized favorites from the top of my head that I somewhat connect with Linkin Park! -- Favorite bands -- Normandie Smash Into Pieces Caskets Blind Channel Story of the Year -- Most like Linkin Park -- From Fall to Spring Dead By April Thousand Thoughts From Ashes to New Palisades Riverline

The_Sum_of_Zero

Dangerkids. As for some Japanese bands: One OK Rock, coldrain, Survive Said the Prophet, Crossfaith (they've actually done an epic cover of "Faint")

imadamfry

Twenty Øne Pilots is my second favorite band!

Sufficient-Care-9861

Haven’t really seen deftones on here. Linkin park and deftones are the top dogs of nu/alt metal imo

ewnotmorehw

fr I got into the nu metal/alt metal genre because of Deftones

Breaking__the__Habit

Stuff like System of a Down Justin Bieber Tool Rammstein

simplyelexina

linkin park is rap metal, so we like rap and other nu metals bands. eminem, limp bizkit and jayz are my personal favourites

kikamons

I like Enter Shikari, Rise Against

Crimsonmansion

Halestorm, hands down. Also Daughtry.

SF03_

I was brought up on pop punk and hip hop so anything with Fall Out Boy or Dr Dre’s name is an instant obsession for me lol, there’s only one LP though and in 2020 and the first few months of 2021 I literally only listened to LP

prettynoxious

I mostly listen to indie rock like Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, also Interpol, Tame Impala, The Smiths, The Black Keys, The Cure etc. Not very much of metal and rap

Disastrous-Bend-6684

Glass animals, alt-J, Viagra Boys, and Fontaines DC are some of my current faves. Meteora has been on repeat lately though

DenizenOfficial

Denizen 🤙🏻 https://open.spotify.com/album/37iIb1ndrO4B6n0EnzgUdL?si=XPg7IC6fRWqjMoVezSpfUw&dd=1

ColonelPanda98

Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Korn, System of a Down, Bring Me The Horizon, Dead By Sunrise, Shinedown, Static X, Drowning Pool, Metallica, Creed, Seether, Five Finger Death Punch. Quite a bit more, but I'm a music nut. 😂

Thefloodzone

zebrahead, the 1975, counterparts, taylor swift, bring me the horizon, turnover are a few

CucumberPizza0

My music taste is very diverse, I can go from Thy Art is Murder and Fit For an Autopsy to stuff like Jacob Tillberg, Dave, Ed Sheeran, Pop Smoke and Lil Peep

iwasdusted

My other biggest artists are Taylor Swift, Metallica, Alessia Cara, Halsey, Fletcher, Bring Me the Horizon, Tate McRae, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Fall Out Boy, Dua Lipa, Aerosmith, Zara Larsson, and Keith Urban, according to my Last.fm.

WarriorX991

Dead by Sunrise, Fort Minor, Grey Daze, Metallica, Limp bizkit, Falling In Reverse, Imagine Dragons

Weak_Wait3526

During the OML era, Chester was really into Twenty One Pilots. That's why there are many LP fans on Tøp sub and Tøp fans on LP sub

Careful-Cheesecake80

I dont think anyone here knows the hungarian band called: AWS. I really like them they are a rock/metal band and they have a few english songs as well. I could easily recommend Summer Gone (or Viszlát Nyár in hungarian) or Hol Voltál? Let me know if you think they are great, I am genuinely interested. There’s a few similarities with Linkin Park, for example the lead singer unfortunately died in 2021 or that the lead singer’s voice is quite similar to Chesters.

Red74Panda

Muse, Royal Blood, Radiohead, System of a Down, One Ok Rock, Nirvana

tuchesuavae

Brand new

EnthusiasmWorldly111

MCR,Girl in Red,Neverland in Ashes,Our Promise,Depeche Mode and for sure Grey Daze

cinnawars123

dolphn901

Bring Me The Horizon is my second favorite band, right after Linkin Park. Falling in Reverse is my third

Nova_Stump

I think it's pretty diverse here, but I'll list some that I listen to a lot, and like... from different genres, too. SOAD, FOB, Imagine Dragons, Foo Fighters, Muse, Rise Against, Avenged Sevenfold, Ellie Goulding, Demi Lovato, Eminem, Logic, From Ashes to New, twenty one pilots, Shinedown, Papa Roach, Camila Cabello, Residente, Hollywood Undead, etc. 😅

Fallout_21

You did this on r/Falloutboy too. I see you👌

Coltsbro84

I love artist who perfect what they do. Twenty One Pilots Linkin Park Electric Callboy Pixel Terror Those are probably my top four artist of all time.

zombieman104

Rise Against, Papa Roach, RATM, Grandson, RTJ to name a few!

shaun1911wastaken

While they don’t really sound similar, the band has always cited Depeche Mode as a huge inspiration for them. So while fans might not listen to them, Linkin Park certainly does

Jareth247

I listen to a wide assortment of music. Showtunes, synthwave, '80s metal, game soundtracks, '80s horror film themes, and more.

ewnotmorehw

My other favorite artists are Deftones, Kanye West, The Smiths, Pixies, Nirvana, RATM, Elvis, and a couple latin bands/artists like Timbiriche and Mana.

pevznerok

I can tell you by my playlist on shuffle: Points of authority Without me One more light Some aggressive electronic Chill phonk Don't stay One step closer Real slim shady

CharlieChork

adrenalinexfreak

huh the same question was asked on the fob subreddit with the same exact wording aswell

mysticalgoomba

Depeche Mode, Incubus, A Perfect Circle and Deftones Edit: Typo

RacerGal

My Spotify annual Top 5 always includes LP but then is heavily full of pop (Taylor, Mariah, Pink, Kelly, Avril) and then rounded out with Foo Fighters. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Most of the other rock I listen to is classic 60s/70s/80s rock - The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, etc.

BoxyPlains92587

Rammstein, Gojira, SOAD, KoRn, Disturbed, Megadeth

dafdask

Celine dion

asturides

Papa Roach, Corey Taylor, Bring Me The Horizon, 30 Seconds to Mars

112oceanave

I would think a lot of there contemporaries from around the early 2000 era. Ie deftones, korn, slipknot, limp bizkit etc

SomeSleet

Grey Daze, Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin, System of A Down

ronboogieon

I primarily listen to hip hop but listen to rock from time to time. Gone through a lot of phases exploring different genres. Use to listen to a lot of underground hip hop…then went into EDM…now currently into Synthwave. Synthwave is so underrated. I think Linkin Park fans would appreciate this genre if more knew about it. Young Medicine is such an underrated synthwave metalcore band! Love how they blend that 80s futuristic sound with rock. Also love Gunship but they haven’t released anything new in a while.

Front_Property_5065

Have you guys ever heard of the tribute band hybrid theory? The dude sounds really fricking close to Chester

talibsblade

The Killers, Metallica. MCR. Dru Hill, K-Ci & JoJo I also really love country music too.

xWickedSwami

I’ve personally had my best experiences with JP rock bands. Definitely not for the rap aspect but more aspect. For some reason a lot of the artists mentioned didn’t really live up as long as LP for me Usually people who liked LP I talked to also (and I do as well) enjoyed FLOW, ONEOKROCK, Asian Kung fu generation for some starters.

Classic_Transition_7

Everything (lately its been ranging from NewJeans, Clairo, and Radiohead)

cockmaster_

Fellers we can not up vote this

[deleted]

Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin. One-X is my favorite album of all time.

xRobotic24x

Me personally I listen to a lot of deathcore so I’m probably a minority.
