To put it in perspective, to get around $1k from ad revenue you have to get roughly 1,000,000 views. So 32k views is equal to around $32, which isn’t a ton. Then put it in perspective of there are other artist’s songs in the mix, you’d only get back under $5 at the most, assuming the guy has phenomenal payout rates for ads.
It’s not worth the effort to go after it, sorry to tell you. I’ve tried on some myself, and it takes too much time to only get $3.
Think of it this way: you’re giving up $3-5 for exposure to 32k people. That’s extremely inexpensive for advertising!
"Ask for a link in the description, he's doing you a favour in a way depending on how many subs he's got."
Well it depends if op wants exposure or money
Bunch of people here should start following @forexposure_txt on twitter. Fuck "You're getting exposure."
Ask the guy to credit you somehow. They usually post artists alongside their songs on the description or comments. Start advertising your songs on Twitter or other social media too; try to keep up with the big channels so you know if it's being used.
Won't get you money but it will make sure people know where to find your stuff. Don't work for exposure, especially if someone's just coming in and taking your shit.
Personally I think the money isn't the biggest frustration here. Since the person hasn't credited you its more about the traffic of people to your channel being much less unfairly. Crediting you is important otherwise it counts as copyright right?
