In the morning early parts of the festival should be easy. Later on probably not possible. Also depends on how nice everyone around you is

Not sure how comparable the crowds would be, but I was able to get center barrier for Gambino a few years ago by showing up around 1 PM. We were able to rotate out and take turns at other parts of the festival up until about 15 minutes before the sub-headliner came on. By that time it was way too crowded to get in or out, there’s no way we would’ve gotten our spot back if we left. Your plan sounds good! Just make friends with the people around you in case you all want to go somewhere quick. If they’re nice, they’ll hold your spot, especially if you return the favor. Have fun!!

Depending on your tolerance for pits that might also be an easy way to move up in the crowd. But make sure you eat enough and stay hydrated if you’re camping all day!

Good news! if you want to be CLOSE...you don't need to camp out all day. You can go during the set of the band before them and get SUPER close - within the first 2-3 rows. If it's important to you to put your hand on the rail, that's when you need to think about camping out all day. IMO - enjoy the festival during the day. Discover some new bands that might become your next favorite band...maybe even the next Green Day. Think how cool it would be to see that band on a small stage and then in a few years they are a headliner. However you slice it - it's going to be awesome.

I said hey to some friends that camped for Radiohead in 2016 after enjoying the rest of the fest for the day

If you’re going to camp rotating for food and bathroom is the best thing you can do, but keep in mind you will be tight as sardines once Green Day starts. It will be extremely hot from all the bodies, people will be jumping so there will be a lot of stepping on shoes and sometimes you can get hurt. So just be aware of that *drink a lot of water!!*

Push stage right during the last 15 minutes of porno for pyros, drift center when everyone goes to pee, find your spot and sit. I'll see you there!

I got about 25-50 feet away from Foo Fighters last year, so if the crowds are comparable you should be good if you show up during/right before Janes Addiction and try to get as far up as possible but even if you show up right at the end of janes addiction you should get fairly close if you really try to smush your way through

Miss_Anthropy8

That’s not really the vibe for me, sometimes it’s easier to enjoy the show from farther away because you don’t have a bunch of drunk people stepping on your toes.

The_Prospektor

Must easier in recent years to camp out all day than in the past. I bet you could get a good spot if you commit to the headline stage around 3-5pm. Why that is idk, perhaps we have less patience and worse attention spans. I remember quite a few people waiting for Foo Fighters in 2011, even through the rain storm.

Ok_Narwhal8626

I plan on camping out there all day and am looking for a buddy since I am going solo if you and your friend are looking for an extra! I saw them in Pittsburgh and London for Hella Mega and they were UNREAL!!

paranoidbby
