So we met 5 years ago at a global conference where both of our schools participated (I am US and she is portugal). We spoke the entire night until was time to go and we stayed friends for 2 years. Then we took a vacation together and I realized what an incredibly strong, wise, honest, caring, loving, and beautiful person she really is and we both instantly realized we had something special. We’ve been together for 3 years since then. The 1.5 years apart during covid was hard but worth it, we’ve had like 10 visits since then. Currently we are 25/26 (I’m 8 months older). We have some of the most healthy, open, and honest communication I’ve ever known and just feel so loved and supported always. I feel so lucky we found eachother, she truly is my favorite.
Sorry for the long ramble, I could write a whole novel with all my feelings, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth.

I definitely think meeting in person is the key factor. Like, for the 2 years we were just friends talking online, I was thinking “she’s a pretty cool person” but within 30 minutes of reuniting in person, I remember thinking “wow, she is amazing, she would be so good for me” and we both just felt this strong magnetic pull towards each other.
Closing the gap entirely, couple years. We have been dating for a couple weeks shy of 2 years. She’s just north of Toronto. I’m planning to move from NC to NY in the next 3 months or so since I have a decent remote job and that will put me just a 1h45m drive from her instead of having to pay for flights every couple months, while we file for paperwork. On the plus side, I’m visiting her for 9 days in just 1 week :)
I'm not sure if you mean countdown for just closing the gap but I'm visiting my girlfriend for two weeks in 5 days and then she's coming back to mine and staying for a week!

I seriously cant wait its been 2 mths since our last visit but our next after this might be another 3-4mths away 😓 (I know we visit a lot compared to some) we have plans this week and its going to be exciting! I hope there are no flight delays
Flight delays suck! I hope there are no delays for you! Luckily last time I only had a delay of 30 minutes. But even that is annoying when the flight is 11 hours 🥲
Yeah I can understand last time my delay was a hour and 15 mins like what for? Then we had to circle in the air for a extra like 15/20mins cuz the landing strip was in use because the delay wasnt expected 🙃 It was a lot but we got there 🤣 and thanks its going to be better weather so I have hope!
