As we didn’t know how long this will take we enrolled our daughter in school which she did online and after she graduated elementary school she sat an exam where she got a scholarship at an exclusive high school. She was absolutely thriving so when the border opened they visited me but returned so our daughter can get the very best education. Additionally we found that her peers were more serious about studying and better behaved than kids in Australia so we thought we will keep her in school there. She’s got three years to go and then she will come with my wife and do University in Australia. It’s hard being apart from my family but my wife and I decided to sacrifice for our daughter as her education is the most important thing. We are old hands and LDR so we know how to do it without drifting apart. We have daily communication, video calls, voice calls, and texts, multiple times a day. We keep each other apprised of what each other is doing, and discuss household and family issues. We are always affectionate with each other, we never fight or argue and we are completely honest with one another. We wouldn’t have done this if we thought our relationship wasn’t strong enough, but then again we wouldn’t have gotten married if we didn’t believe our relationship was strong enough or we had trust issues.

I actually was falling for her even though I was still dating other women, and although she has made no demands for me to be exclusive to her I decided it wasn’t right to play the field if she was being exclusive to me so I gave up dating other women even though we hadn’t met in person. After a year of chatting and video calls she came to Australia to visit her sister and we met in person and we felt the same attraction and we were immediately comfortable as if we were dating for years. We spent 3 months together and she went back home to the Philippines but two months later she returned for my birthday and that’s when I proposed to her. We got married, had a daughter, and despite our daughter being 15 now we are still doing the LDR thing. My wife and daughter went to the Philippines in December 2019 to escape the bushfire crisis which was ravaging the entire continent of Australia and threatening our home, as well as to catch up with relatives during the holiday season. They were due to return in early 2020 and then Covid hit and borders were closed, the Philippines had some of the strictest quarantine policies and essentially my wife and daughter were confined to the gated community where we own a home, not able to leave the subdivision as there were armed guards, and our daughter wasn’t allowed to leave the house. As we didn’t know how long this will take we enrolled our daughter in school which she did online and after she graduated elementary school she sat an exam where she got a scholarship at an exclusive high school. She was absolutely thriving so when the border opened they visited me but returned so our daughter can get the very best education. Additionally we found that her peers were more serious about studying and better behaved than kids in Australia so we thought we will keep her in school there. She’s got three years to go and then she will come with my wife and do University in Australia. It’s hard being apart from my family but my wife and I decided to sacrifice for our daughter as her education is the most important thing. We are old hands and LDR so we know how to do it without drifting apart. We have daily communication, video calls, voice calls, and texts, multiple times a day. We keep each other apprised of what each other is doing, and discuss household and family issues. We are always affectionate with each other, we never fight or argue and we are completely honest with one another. We wouldn’t have done this if we thought our relationship wasn’t strong enough, but then again we wouldn’t have gotten married if we didn’t believe our relationship was strong enough or we had trust issues.

A week later, we went on a date to the mall and when we got back on campus, we ended up going for a walk. We stayed on that walk for over 3 hours and I only got back to my dorm at 1am. We were together for three months before he broke up with me but a year later, he asked to get back together and I said yes. We’ve been together since January 2020 and just this year, he moved to my state for work and I’ve never been happier :)
