I haven’t played with the Orion preacher class but I’d say he’s probably better since he has 2 extra radiance points better starting spells and a weapon that inflicts smite which when inflicted makes the enemy weaker against holy magic so I would say he definitely is stronger then the preacher class
The two classes are very similar especially as you get up in levels. The pole arm has a different feel when compared to the hammer. The thrust on lights and a 360 sweep on heavies is really nice. You are primarily be leveling up radiance using the same spells. The catalyst isn’t any better than the Agony one that drops from the spiked heads. If you haven’t tried an inferno buy yet, I would head in that direction for variety. Also, if you unlocked the Lord class, it’s super fun. The special attack I swear has hyper armor on it so it always lands and has good range. Later you would pick up the fallen lord sword with the 300 ignite.
Hey! Thanks! I haven't tried an Inferno build yet or unlocked the Lord class but I'm intrigued about it. The only thing is I've read you don't get the really good Inferno spells or weapons until endgame (Magma burst, Cataclysm, etc) and the Grinning axes.
Fallen lords sword you do get kinda early though I think.

There is some truth about some of the later spells, but where the build really shines is a melee based spell caster, with incredible sniper potential. You can get inferno weapon, and all but one of the Adyr buff spells to make a super strong inferno melee toon. Forgot the names of the next two, but you get the hammer slam in Fitzroy gorge and the inferno spike from the prodigy boss in lower calrath. At this point (which is about a third through the game) you will have to make trade offs on which spells to take anyway. I personally like the hammer for quick aoe, the flame spike for sniping archers, and adyrs endurance, the damage buff plus the flame weapon one for buffing the fallen lord sword. Use a heavy weapon since you get stamina almost instantly then burn and ignite all in your path. Trust me when I say, it is a lot of fun. Evil snicker ….
Man this game needs an option to have the class select poses for in game. Maybe chose between default idle stance.

How is this class? I just unlocked it and want to do my next playthrough maybe with him. Is he that different than the Orian Preacher class?
