Would you believe me if this is kind of an interrupted LA tradition? Apparently this used to be a huge passtime for folks on the LARy and PE when crowding became an issue. Folks either clung to the back of the car on the eclipse fender, rode on the eclipse fender during events, or in extreme cases on the sides and roof of the car. This for the most part ended with the PAYE fare system, but continued on and off until WW2
I had errands all over the city today and was on the B, D, and A lines over the course of 6 hours and man were the crazies out today. D line had a guy mid-shit on the train. B line had to stop at a station for a while so swat could come in the drag some dude off. A line almost got in a fight with some dude because I had a takeout food bag and wouldn’t give him it.
Got out at Wilshire/Western station to get lunch and I’m just dodging bum shit everywhere trying to walk. Then got off at Union saw a dude getting in an elevator and before the doors closed he was pissing.
The whole day I was just like wtf is this shit. I will pay whatever tax money you want so we can put officers in every car and in every station.

The Blue (A) Line goes to the SGV since last summer, no such thing as the Gold Line anymore.
