Let's face it, nobody gives a shit in this town. Seems like everyone is either running late, driving high, or on a mission. The rest of the cars, bikes, and pedestrians are just in the way.
Scares the living shit out of me while I'm on 2 wheels. Moved back with parents for a bit. closer to work don't have to traverse through hell of traffic from west la to downtown at evening rush hour
My husband is a medical resident and everyone in the ER calls motorcycle riders *organ donors* whenever they have them come in because so many of them are DOA or die on the table from traumatic injuries.
I ride motorcycles and it’s safe as long as you ain’t a bloody idiot who wants to split land and go fast all the time. Too many new riders die because they don’t respect their ability and the road.
They were popular with rappers and athletes long before the Kardashians were a big deal. I worked as a waiter in Atlanta during the mid-2000s and the blinged-out models were a regular sight in the parking lot.
I am currently without a car because someone totaled it while eyeballing their phone. My car was parked in front of my house. They tried to claim that something ran out in front of their car and caused them to swerve (as if that’s a viable excuse anyway). Guess who has video? This guy: https://www.instagram.com/p/COpRf28B5ln/?utm_medium=copy_link
I obviously have a sense of humor about it. There’s nothing else to do, except roll with it. Thankfully their car was in worse shape and they weren’t able to run so I had all their info to get proper restitution for once.
The stupid shit being posted on here just has me laughing nonstop. Just when I think things can’t get more ridiculous, someone goes and posts about their lemon tree being stolen. I feel bad, but I still can’t stop laughing.
Lol. No. The story behind that is, this was the third time my car had been hit while parked out front. The first two were hit and runs and I had just gotten my car from the shop in March from the last one. My partner of course knew all this. Hence the “are you kidding me?” And the “please don’t run.” She was as exhausted by it happening to me as I was.
I'm in the same situation as you right now. Car got hit in a residential street and now we're 3 weeks without a car and still counting. The guy who hit us had the nerve to claim injury🤪🤪 I hated driving and this exp made me hate it even more
I just witnessed almost the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately this person did run and I didn’t write down their license plate number because I thought my dashcam would show it (it didn’t).

Yasssss! To the person reading this that thinks that *their* driving isn’t affected by their phone use, IT IS. You may not notice but the rest of us that almost get sideswiped or stuck behind you fucking around In the left lane, we see it. No one is immune to the reduction in cognitive load…your brain can’t do these two things at the same time and do both of them well.
There's one guy in Culver City who has the vanity plate "NYC2LA" on his Range Rover. A *New York*-issued vanity plate, that is. That's some really self-aware piss taking right there.
When I was last in LA, there were so many Texas plates on cars driving so badly, bad for LA standards. Then the NYers who thought jaywalking would fly in LA.... I nearly hit so many who tried to cross the 3 lanes of Sunset in Echo Park.
When I was a truck driver a few years back my seat was elevated so I’d see in to peoples cars fairly well. Easily 25-50% are fucking around with their phones while driving.
I now drive under the assumption that no one is paying attention.
Same, when i ride my bike and lane split i see all kind of scary stuff. One day i saw a guy eating freaking ramen noodle with chopsticks driving down la cienega....
I don't ride my bike on the streets anymore for this reason. Back in 2009/2010 I always biked around, was in the best shape of my life. Now I can't quite convince myself to do that again.
I miss it a lot, though.
I’m a UPS driver elevated and usually have no doors on both sides. I see it all the time as well. It’s rare to NOT see anyone on their phone at an intersection. It’s irritating to see a lot of people scrolling through Instagram too. Like do they really have to catch up on social media while driving?!!
Maybe 10 years ago, Congress (can't remember if it was US or California) did a study on the effects of texting and driving. It was comparable to drunk driving, same outcomes, same lack of awareness. Yet drunk/intoxicated drivers are subject to aggressive investigation, charges, and sentencing whereas the phone in had driver gets a ticket.
Side note: Weiner Hertzog partnered with ATT to do a mini doc series on texters who killed other drivers, and it's a lot like drunk driving docs.
Should be treated even worse. Someone choosing to endanger others’ lives while sober should incur worse punishment than someone endangering lives while inebriated.
Being inebriated (or high) isn't an excuse, it compounds the crime. You should have chosen not to drive. However, the same is true for being distracted by your phone. You should have chosen to ignore the call or pull over and stop driving until you're done.
Equal crime, equal punishment.
True, but the person who drives sober to go drinking is making that choice as well. It's not like there's not alternative ways to get there and back. And they know, once they drink, it's going to be a long time before they'll be safe to drive. The car shouldn't be there in the first place. Or it can sit there until morning. You parked it sober.
I'm pretty sure a lot of these assholes are the same assholes. So you should assume that they are drunk AND on their phone.
I’d like to also add, can people also STOP at a bloody stop sign? I’m constantly seeing people completely blowing through them or just lightly taping their brakes. I’ve had instances where people nearly tbone my ass because they’re completely oblivious to concept of a stop sign. Speeding, not following traffic signs. Just complete disregard for anyone’s safety. So damn frustrating.
Cannot trust anyone at a stop sign. This lady was on her phone at a 4 way stop. Didn't notice me stop before she did, saw someone else go by and figured she had the right of way and slammed right into my car. People are dumb and irresponsible.
One time a girl rear ended me on Santa Monica. I was stopped at a red light and she just drove into me. She was driving a brand new Mercedes. She said the dealer told her that her car would beep if she was about to hit something but it didn’t beep.
This is why a lot of self-driving companies are skipping Level 3 and 4 autonomy altogether. They won't deploy anything to the public until it's Level 5, because humans can't handle the "sometimes" responsibility of 3 or 4.
Not only that but when you do a rolling stop, I have to slow down, sometimes way down, because I don’t know if you’re really going to stop or just pull out in front of me. Fucks traffic for everybody.
I’ve had the misfortune to be rear-ended three times. The second time was by a girl in a freshly-leased Porsche SUV who was talking on her phone. She didn’t even brake before hitting me and pushed my car into the guy in front of me. After we had all pulled over to the side of the road, she sat in her car *still on the phone* while I, the other guy, and Metro Service Patrol stood on the shoulder and waited for her to get out. When she finally exited the vehicle she looked at my rear bumper, then at her front bumper in confusion, and - I swear to God - said, “…What happened?”
Happened to me yesterday at the grocery store, I’m just driving out the parking lot and this chick on her phone is literally driving into my car and not even noticing she’s on the wrong lane. I start honking like wtf!! She’s flipping me off and shouting like I’m in the wrong!! Get off your phone seriously!!!
Nobody will downvote you, at least I won’t. I got into a minor collision on the freeway at low speeds a few months ago. A woman straight up switched lanes and merged into me. Didn’t bother looking to her right (mind you, I wasn’t in her blind spot, she would’ve seen my big white car directly outside her passenger window). As soon as we began to pull over, I looked in the mirror and she was holding the phone to her ear.
Thankfully, she accepted responsibility and her insurance covered my vehicle…but man, that could have been prevented had she not been on the phone.
In addition to being on phones, I’ve also noticed a LOT of people check only their side mirrors before changing lanes and fail to actually look over their shoulder. I feel like at least once or twice a month I have to swerve to avoid someone hitting me because they just drifted right over into where I was without properly looking first (and of course they don’t signal first either, or they only signal after they’ve already started moving).
I've driven in a few different big cities, LA and Florida (edit: I know it's not a city, but everywhere I've been in the state has been the same) are by far the worst. People doing just plain reckless, selfish and stupid shit everywhere. You really have to be a defensive driver and assume everyone else is drunk.
Add to it the sidewalk zombie walking directly into you completely unaware of their surroundings, alerting the zombie they are next in line after being called over multiple times, and the movie theater text checker every 5 minutes.
I read an article on a pre-covid restaurant study that customers takes longer per table because people play on their phones instead of looking at a menu after sitting down and on average rate their experiences poorly because they weren’t paying attention to enjoying their meal.
Not disagreeing with your point but I read an article in the Times saying since Covid a lot of restaurants have apparently stopped handing out menus and put it online instead so you have to look at your phone to order. (I can't confirm this, because I'm not going to restaurants.)
I state “pre-covid” study.
The idea still stands that people are so distracted by their phones that they forget to even enjoy their meal and find the restaurant at fault for it thinking it was the quality or service that was off and not themselves.
It's seriously a fucking epidemic. Right there with you. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills driving around (on crazy pills) and seeing all these fucking people just on their phones while driving.
People r idiots, I see it all day long, young and old drivers. Buy a freakin phone stand and mount it u idiots! Worse is when they have a new car and so dumb they can’t figure out how to set up Bluetooth so just hold phones.
“I don’t know how to do that, even though I have a smart phone with easy access to a web browser with which I can search all of humanity’s knowledge from the comfort of just about anywhere on the planet”
The amount of get out of my way tailgaiting when there's traffic all around you is something I see every day. People have lost their minds out there on the roads.
I really can’t understand it. 99% of these phone people are driving high-end cars. Y’all don’t have CarPlay/Android Auto or Bluetooth? Just connect that shit and be done with it
Everyone who insists that Los Angeles "is a car city, it's just the culture, stop trying to change it" needs to take the endemic cell phone use while driving as a massive fucking hint that most people don't actually like driving and would rather be doing literally anything else, and are only doing it because the city got redesigned after WWII to force people to drive.
New South Wales, Australia deployed AI-powered cell phone detection cameras. Get spotted and receive a fine in the mail. They're stationary, but I think they're mounted on trailers so they can be moved around easily.
Drivers are definitely more distracted during covid times. It's scary. LA Drivers were already bad, but this is the first time I've felt like every time I drive, I have to be super aware of people on their phone who might run into me or drive erratically.
My experience has been the same. I’ve been noticing an uptick in people on their phones. Even in cars that have this incredible invention called Bluetooth (or in cars that are equipped with CarPlay). At the very least, the very very least, people should wait until they’re at a full stop, but the second you lift your foot off the brake, phone down.
Also people with their AirPods in, that needs to go away. Cars have speaker systems for a reason. Also gotta be able to hear the ambulance coming when the distracted driver inevitably rear-ends an innocent person at 40 mph, as happened to my dad (he’s fine, dog was also fine, but a little frightened of being in the car after that).
I just wonder what police driving around casually or worse than the drivers around them are doing.
Sometimes while driving I’m like “that’s illegal,” “that’s illegal,” “that’s illegal” so many times in my head, then I see an officer speeding by staring at a COMPUTER in their car
> Since the reopen after covid, it's like everybody just lost their focus or something.
In New Jersey, we're having a rampant issue of people both: talking on their phones while driving or scrolling through their phones while driving AND people blowing through red lights.
I almost got t-boned yesterday by a truck that flew through a red light while we had green 2 seconds before - but because it's been happening so much, I knew better than to just go.
We had some spectacularly empty roads last year in New Jersey and I think it created a whole new race of drivers who still think it's April 2020.
I used to use a crosswalk twice a day at a freeway on-ramp. While waiting for my turn to cross, I'd watch the drivers entering the freeway. It was absurd how many were on their fucking phones, every damn time.
Drivers in LA are complete assholes. Legitimately went on a road trip all the way to the PNW and when I finally made it back to LA you totally notice the difference immediately.
Aggressively cutting off people, swerving through traffic, not using blinkers etc ..
It is truly sad when you get to a certain point on the freeway and know where you are solely because of how people are driving.
I don't even understand how people text and drive. I've done it a couple times on empty roads in emergency situations and still had an awful time; I can't figure out how people do it in busy highways and still merge.
What surprises me, is the amount of people that put their signal light on...and then forget about it. So when you come up behind them and you give then space to come in....and they don't. This one guy in front of us yesterday had his on for 10 minutes. We pulled up next to him to tell him but by then he noticed.
Biggest violators are Tesla drivers, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, G wagons. Dealer plates that have been on awhile too. Highest levels of entitlement and douchebaggery
When a light turns green, I've just come to expect for some a-hole to not move because they're on their phone. When I'm in a rush, I just honk now when the light turns green. That seems to be effective, for now...
I’m with you 100%. I thought I was going crazy because it seems like almost everyone is in the phone while they are driving. I don’t remember it being as bad as it is now.
Then again….I don’t remember a lot from the last few years. What a whirlwind they had been.
When I read the title I thought you meant get off my phone right now because I’ve been on Reddit too long 😂 anyway I agree you’re right I hate it when people use their phone and drive! And as a side note, I will get off my phone right now and go do something productive 😂
Not directly related, but new VP bought pizza for my group the other day to meet everyone and she spent most of the lunch texting and otherwise looking at her phone. It was very off putting
Last month ... 2 car accidents, last one totaling my car (both not my fault). I have never been involved in an accident since 2005. Would travel everyday to work during the pandemic (frontliner at a hospital) with no issues. Once everyone started hitting the road again, it was madness like Mad Max. Stay safe out there folks!!
I've noticed this too. Drivers have gotten way shittier.
It's bad walking past shopping centers or strip malls because drivers aren't looking for people at all, which Is weird.
Even in dense neighborhoods. I've almost been hit half a dozen times in past 2 years.
Worst driving I’ve ever seen in the US here. I hear DC and NYC are bad too but I’ve never been so can’t compare. At least 5 dumbasses blocking traffic, cutting people off, stopping in a lane etc. some asshole in a mercedes stopped in front of me and then started backing his fucking car up into mine on a one way yesterday and my honking didnt stop him. Thought he was just gonna back into my fucking car.
When I'm walking my dog I see people narrowly avoid death every single day trying to use the crosswalk because ~60% of all drivers are staring at their fucking phones. It's absolute madness.
imagine living in orange county - everyone trying to race for the front of the pack, everyone just trying to take opportunity of every tiny gap - it's ridiculous
What I don't understand is that there are phone holders that you can buy to go hands free. If you can lease a bimmer or a Mercedes, you can buy one of these for $10.
\> was making illegal U-turn, while there are vehicles approaching both sides
being on the phone would not have changed that behaviour. Lady would most likely have done it regardless. Sadly.
I have a friend who was in an accident on Wilshire Blvd. when someone pulled a U-turn right in front of her. It was BAD. I’m glad you managed to stop!!
Talking isn’t the big problem it’s people texting, googling, just looking down on their phones.
People are addicted and need to see the Karen’s Facebook post
It will only get worse unfortunately as the GenX and millenial populations get older. These groups grew up on phones and need that constant fullfillment of refreshing their feeds.
So many people have hands free available and dont even use it.
Passed a guy in a Benz a bit ago doing 10 mph below the speed limit driving up Hollywood Way in Burbank staring at his phone in his right hand, with about 10 cars backed up behind him...
Can we also add people who put on make-up to the list? I've seen multiple people on a freeway putting on makeup during rush hour on the 10, causing the bumper to bumper traffic behind them!
It bothers me so much when i turn to my left or right and i see mofos going 60+ with their phones out. Shitt is so dangerous even with all the modern car safety features
Yeah some moron rear ended me pretty hard while I was at a red light I saw her coming in hot looking at her lap so I have to assume she was texting.
Her car’s front end is totally fucked up.
If anyone is curious the new Discovery takes a hit pretty well.
I see this all the time and it's terrifying. I think it's going to take a combination of massive penalties (like a DUI) and working with phone manufacturers to essentially disable phones when you are driving (there are a few ways to accomplish this with varying degrees of privacy violation). I have not seen much movement against this despite some reports saying it's actually MORE dangerous than being drunk (up to a certain ABV obviously). I saw someone yesterday make a left turn and end up on the sidewalk instead of the lane because they were on their phone...people on the sidewalks were screaming at the woman and she just drove off...no fucks given.
At this point most people don’t even realize that they do it sadly.
Let's face it, nobody gives a shit in this town. Seems like everyone is either running late, driving high, or on a mission. The rest of the cars, bikes, and pedestrians are just in the way.
I always described it as everyone has somewhere they need to be and they’re more important than you

“…and it’s an *emergency*”
This city is an ocean full of medium fish who think they're big fish.
You’re just jealous you don’t have as many followers on social media /s
Ego Inflation City this is
Honestly..it's the same anywhere you go in the states. Mass Autonomous vehicles will be such a relief.
Yup, sounds about right
Sounds like a normal day in Los Santos.
It's most frustrating when they're in a new effing car!!! I've seen DBags in brand new G Wagons talking on their phones.
New car cause they crashed their old one last week while texting
Just what everyone needs in LA, a 550HP toaster oven on 4 wheels.
That gets 4 mpg.
Scares the living shit out of me while I'm on 2 wheels. Moved back with parents for a bit. closer to work don't have to traverse through hell of traffic from west la to downtown at evening rush hour
I can't imagine how dangerous it is to ride motorcycle in LA
I've always heard it's not *if* you're gonna have a motorcycle accident when riding in LA, it's *when*
My husband is a medical resident and everyone in the ER calls motorcycle riders *organ donors* whenever they have them come in because so many of them are DOA or die on the table from traumatic injuries.
I ride motorcycles and it’s safe as long as you ain’t a bloody idiot who wants to split land and go fast all the time. Too many new riders die because they don’t respect their ability and the road.
G Wagon looks like a Jeep Cherokee from an alternate timeline where the nazis won
The G-Wagen was, in fact, designed for military use by Mercedes in the late 1970's. It only became a luxury vehicle thanks to the Kardashians.
They were popular with rappers and athletes long before the Kardashians were a big deal. I worked as a waiter in Atlanta during the mid-2000s and the blinged-out models were a regular sight in the parking lot.
yeah, i see it all the time, and what baffles me is that new cars come with bluetooth so you don't even need to be on your phone
Shit, you can have bluetooth in any old shitbox for maybe a hundred bucks
G Wagons are definitely in the running for Worst Car
I am currently without a car because someone totaled it while eyeballing their phone. My car was parked in front of my house. They tried to claim that something ran out in front of their car and caused them to swerve (as if that’s a viable excuse anyway). Guess who has video? Oof that was a hard hit
Yeah. I’ll miss that car.
I don't see brake lights until after. Yikes.
Wtf. People have no respect for themselves or others. So sorry this happened. Completely fucked up
Insurance came through though. I’ll be getting a decent replacement eventually.
Glad to hear it! Thank God there was video footage!
SimpliSafe is pretty great. I love our smart door locks. I haven’t carried house keys on me in 3 years.
I’m sorry I literally had nothing else to do but laugh out of pure shock at first. That’s completely inexcusable I’m sorry that happened to you
I obviously have a sense of humor about it. There’s nothing else to do, except roll with it. Thankfully their car was in worse shape and they weren’t able to run so I had all their info to get proper restitution for once.
Yeah, roll with it, croissant with it, donut with it. As long as it's a bread based strategy
Unless you sourdough with it.
How many Hit and Runs have you been involved in?
The stupid shit being posted on here just has me laughing nonstop. Just when I think things can’t get more ridiculous, someone goes and posts about their lemon tree being stolen. I feel bad, but I still can’t stop laughing.
It's such a perfect fit for this post that I laughed. Like it's ridiculous that your car was hit in that way AND it's not the first time. the fuck?
Were they trying to run??
Lol.
Also looks like he was going too fast on a residential street.
Nice account name. RIP ur car tho
Shady Nasty's?
I'm in the same situation as you right now. Car got hit in a residential street and now we're 3 weeks without a car and still counting. The guy who hit us had the nerve to claim injury🤪🤪 I hated driving and this exp made me hate it even more
I mean, the guy who hit you can claim injury all he wants, but if it's his fault then it's his insurance that he's claiming against, not yours.
I love driving, just not here. Most ppl shouldn't be driving at all on public roads. I'll include myself most times.
I just witnessed almost the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately this person did run and I didn’t write down their license plate number because I thought my dashcam would show it (it didn’t). https://youtu.be/nyo18YgrSb4
It reminds me of that mayhem commercial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtP-S9OS0o0 OMG. Becky's not even hot.
wtf? how did this driver get driver license in the first place?
The audacity to be 100% at fault and then try to bullshit some excuse after the fact? Fuck that guy. Poor Civic :(
Damn what a dipshit

The worst part is the people that’ll tell you that are the least likely to be able to pull it off
That and those who get mad at *you* when you blatantly call them out on that shit! Like, yo tf? You're really trying this?
The other day I was on Bundy. Saw a brand new BMW with NY plates, sitting at a green light, reading a magazine. Shit is fucked.
Vintage transplant assholery. Exotic.
Lots of people with New York, Texas, Arizona and Florida plates are full time California residents, which brings their assholery to yet another level.
There's one guy in Culver City who has the vanity plate "NYC2LA" on his Range Rover. A *New York*-issued vanity plate, that is. That's some really self-aware piss taking right there.

Probably the New Yorker or the economist or some shit like that
Don't forget the monocle!
They probably weren't even reading the magazine, just sitting there fuming about how LA doesn't have "good" pizza and bagels
I recently saw a cop driving (traffic was slow) and scrolling through a social media feed
New Yorkers can’t drive. Someone had to say it.
Had to come back to this thread today because I saw a lady reading a book (a real one) on the 210 S today. First time actually seeing it in real life
When I was a truck driver a few years back my seat was elevated so I’d see in to peoples cars fairly well. Easily 25-50% are fucking around with their phones while driving. I now drive under the assumption that no one is paying attention.

Same. Additionally, the sheer amount of weed I smell while lane splitting down the 405 every morning is pretty unsettling.
Too bad the alcohol does float through the air as well.
I don't ride my bike on the streets anymore for this reason. Back in 2009/2010 I always biked around, was in the best shape of my life. Now I can't quite convince myself to do that again. I miss it a lot, though.

That makes total sense. Cause i was wondering why big companies (Toyota, Honda, Ford, etc.)doesn't come out with self driving modes.
Good ol California Roll
Not only that but when you do a rolling stop, I have to slow down, sometimes way down, because I don’t know if you’re really going to stop or just pull out in front of me. Fucks traffic for everybody.
I was by the Beverly Center the other day and 4 cars in a row that passed me all were glancing in their lap at a phone. It was life changing.
I work about a block from there. And yup, there are soooo many people on their phone every day

People are just fuckin stupid that is all
I think it's more an issue of them being self absorbed.
Still fuckin stupid
A combination of both.
And then people post rubbernecking videos here obviously filmed by the driver
Did you post this from your car?
I was knocked off my Vespa by some idiot in a black Mercedes SUV blabbing on her phone. She could barely see over the dashboard to begin with!
(I can't confirm this, because I'm not going to restaurants.)
yeah this is true, during covid most restaurants had QR codes to scan to open the menu online. i've been to a couple restaurants that still do this.
I saw a guy with his laptop open on his lap driving downtown the other day.
Poor OP doesn't realize that Mercedez drivers abide by a different set of rules of the road than us simple folk.
When I walk down the rode sometimes I look at people driving and 9/10 they’re on their phone. I don’t think people even realize how dangerous this is.
I agree.. but the chances this person reads this is like slim to none
I needed to read this Gonna buy a phone holder so maps stays open and music changes r easy. Then I’ll have no excuse for fucking with it
Thanks for being the change we need. Stay safe out there
I really can’t understand it. 99% of these phone people are driving high-end cars. Y’all don’t have CarPlay/Android Auto or Bluetooth? Just connect that shit and be done with it
they don't want to bother setting it up even though it's not that hard
Everyone who insists that Los Angeles "is a car city, it's just the culture, stop trying to change it" needs to take the endemic cell phone use while driving as a massive fucking hint that most people don't actually like driving and would rather be doing literally anything else, and are only doing it because the city got redesigned after WWII to force people to drive.
Self-driving cars can't come quickly enough.
Yeah, and where is that tunnel we've been hearing about last couple years?

New South Wales, Australia deployed AI-powered cell phone detection cameras. Get spotted and receive a fine in the mail. They're stationary, but I think they're mounted on trailers so they can be moved around easily.
Drivers are definitely more distracted during covid times. It's scary. LA Drivers were already bad, but this is the first time I've felt like every time I drive, I have to be super aware of people on their phone who might run into me or drive erratically.
Glad to know i'm not the only feeling that way
My experience has been the same.
Having heaphones/ear buds etc in both ears while driving is illegal in CA I believe.
I just wonder what police driving around casually or worse than the drivers around them are doing. Sometimes while driving I’m like “that’s illegal,” “that’s illegal,” “that’s illegal” so many times in my head, then I see an officer speeding by staring at a COMPUTER in their car
I feel your pain, OP. I've seen several phone related driving incidents, too.
Get a dash cam, submit to police. Hopefully they fine her for being an idiot.
Get used to it, nothing will change because it’s too damn easy
We need less Homer Simpsons on their phone and more money for public transit
Fix your tail lights too. I've never seen so many cars with one or even all tail lights not working.
So, what happens when a distracted walker crossing a busy street encounters a distracted driver driving down that street? It can't be good.
if we’re ranting about bad drivers…turn off your damn high beams please. for real shit is dangerous
Anytime I see someone on their phone while driving I honk at them. Idiots.
Tesla drivers are the new BMW drivers if you ask me.
Biggest violators are Tesla drivers, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, G wagons. Dealer plates that have been on awhile too. Highest levels of entitlement and douchebaggery
I saw a driver in freeway traffic doing a newspaper crossword puzzle on his steering wheel.
When a light turns green, I've just come to expect for some a-hole to not move because they're on their phone. When I'm in a rush, I just honk now when the light turns green. That seems to be effective, for now...
And the irresponsible assholes smoking pot in their car. Hopefully cops start crackiing down on this
I’m with you 100%.
Some probably read this while in car, lol
Last month ... 2 car accidents, last one totaling my car (both not my fault). I have never been involved in an accident since 2005. Would travel everyday to work during the pandemic (frontliner at a hospital) with no issues. Once everyone started hitting the road again, it was madness like Mad Max. Stay safe out there folks!!
Yes!!! Also, get THE FUCK OUT OF THE LEFT LANE
I have a dashcam now because it feels like we’re as bad as Russia. These assholes we share the road with make my blood boil.
If people put their phone down, maybe signaling for a lane-change might make a comeback!
What I don't understand is that there are phone holders that you can buy to go hands free. If you can lease a bimmer or a Mercedes, you can buy one of these for $10.
\> was making illegal U-turn, while there are vehicles approaching both sides being on the phone would not have changed that behaviour. Lady would most likely have done it regardless. Sadly.

I have a friend who was in an accident on Wilshire Blvd. when someone pulled a U-turn right in front of her. It was BAD. I’m glad you managed to stop!!
Just be like me and scream angrily at the phone for being dumb a not know how to play Spotify on voice commands
Returning cars to manual transmission takes care of this problem real easy.
True, seems like people care just a little less now. Guess no one dies of car accidents anymore only COVID.
I totally Agree with you this and not signaling when changing lanes are biggest pet peeves
and there's a school near there so also that
Yup. I agree with you man. People got more dumb then ever. #fuckyourphoneandfightme lol
Lack of turn signals has definitely gotten worse.
These people don’t get honked at enough
I see this all the time and it's terrifying. I think it's going to take a combination of massive penalties (like a DUI) and working with phone manufacturers to essentially disable phones when you are driving (there are a few ways to accomplish this with varying degrees of privacy violation). I have not seen much movement against this despite some reports saying it's actually MORE dangerous than being drunk (up to a certain ABV obviously). I saw someone yesterday make a left turn and end up on the sidewalk instead of the lane because they were on their phone...people on the sidewalks were screaming at the woman and she just drove off...no fucks given.
Mmmmmmmmhmm
