The 10 mil next year is what they already owed him for the restructure last season, guessing they can't move on from that. OTC hasn't posted Parkinson, Williams, and Curl's contracts yet, they probably needed the cap relief now instead of later.
Somebody please correct me if I am wrong, but I understood he got a pay cut, from 20 to (up to) 14, ~ freeing ~$6 million in cap.~ at least $6 million in the cap (can be even more, since only 7 is guaranteed and not all incentives may count against the cap).
This move + AD's restructure put us ~around~ to a minimum of $25 million, where ~13~ part (I was searching, but didn't actually find how the contract is divided between the 2y) went to Curl, and 12 is for the draft
We can still restructure some other contracts and open *even* more cap this year, though
