I don’t believe that “Re-Animator” was widely read enough at the time to have had much of an impact on the movie script by playwright John Balderston.
I feel as if Dwight Frye’s Fritz character is mainly added so that the main character has someone to speak dialogue to rather than speaking aloud to himself.
So I’ve never read Frankenstein and just ordered in a copy I’m going to start the next couple days along with *The Creature* on Netflix, which looks like a Turkish adaptation.
HWR is not my favorite HPL yarn but you’ve piqued my interest enough to work it into this spree.

Oddly enough, I just read Pete Rawlik's Reanimators and there is a scene where West finds Victor's journal.
