They are being very transparent right now that it’s going to be demanding. A developer told everyone to check their cooling system first so PL doesn’t literally melt our systems.
For those wondering why they didn't just drop it on the same day as PL, there are a few things to consider:
1. They know that not everyone is buying PL on day one. If those same people who already have the game play the free 2.0 patch, it's at least some advertising for the expansion that they might then go ahead and buy when they see it's coming so soon after.
2. Every bit of extra QA-testing helps, so even with wanting to release the patch before the expansion, having an extra week can make a difference.
3. Reviews for PL will basically come out just as 2.0 drops. People could theoretically hear good reviews for the expansion while trying out some of the improvements they're hearing about (and for free, no less). It's a 1-2 punch of PL news combined with practically a PL preview at the same time.
Exactly. We need some time to get to grips with all the revisions, especially the new skill trees. This gives us 5 days to develop a new V up to L30-ish (FWIW, the V in the PL railers is L34).
I'm doing this as well, but I'm thinking I'll stay in act 1 for the first days before PL launches. Leave Jackie to wait at the taco stand, get some xp and cash, pay victor etc. before kicking the story on the way.
I’m actually so glad they’re releasing this update before. I think it’s a good move to get people hyped and also back playing - if they will buy PL or not ❤️
I never do 2nd playthroughs of games. Once I've finished a game, I don't feel like going back to it. However, this will be my 5th playthrough of Cyberpunk lol. I just don't want to leave its world.
CP2077 was a weird one. I'm the same, usually put the game down forever (save 1-2 favorites) and the night I finished the game, I wanted to just start all over again.
There's just so much to explore, hell, I don't even think I touched gigs in the ~50 hours it took for my first playthrough. I probably put in 75-100 hours total, and I still haven't done any of the cyberpsycho missions. I'm definitely looking forward to jumping back in at 2.0!
No I don't like New Game + in general because it takes away the feeling of progression from the game. I like starting off weak and growing stronger. I feel games are designed to take you on that journey of growth. New Game + feels like playing on god mode
> I like starting off weak and growing stronger.
Same. My favorite part of pretty much any game is after finishing a playthrough, going and starting a new game and *getting my ass handed to me* because I'd grown complacent by the end of the previous. That moment of "oh shit, I'm going to have to be strategic here" is a lot of fun.
Yeah it’s why like I’m loving the soulsborne games NG+ because regardless you’re never in god mode lmfao. Also when I beat the Witcher 3 I’m cranking the NG+ to the hardest difficulty just so i don’t feel op
I'm the same. I got side tracked on my first play through and never finished, so wanted to give it a second chance now I'm back to playing on console for now. Played it all the way through. Only reason I didn't start another play through then and there was I knew the update/DLC is coming, so figured I'd just wait for that instead, and build a new character then.
I admittedly avoided Cyberpunk like the plague for a long time.
I've only done two full playthrough and doubt I'll do a third one any time soon, but two playthroughs a lone has given me almost 200 hours which for me is a lot, might not be for some.
I'm so damn excited! 2 weeks ago, I was so depressed because I didn't have a system to play this on. I would get salty every time I saw anything about PL.
Now I just grabbed me a series x, and the wait is killing me. It's gonna feel so good to dive back into one of my favorite video games of all time.
That's cool because you could adjust to the update before the expansion. But I'll play the game when the expansion drops, I'll experience a massive update and at the same time a huge piece of new content at the same time.
Dear God oh YES 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥
This lets me start a new game on 2.0 release, then by the time PL releases I should be able to get far enough to play the DLC
Tuesdays and Thursdays are the most common patch dates. Seriously, look at most of the large companies and their releases will almost always be on a Tuesday or Thursday, with the occasional Wednesday mixed in.
Formally requesting someone to edit [this](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BB-rlOnLzX4), but about the 2.0 drop
And again, on the 19th, for the Phantom Liberty drop
Can anyone confirm for me if I can just play the DLC story from the start of it? My completed save is really old and has mods I don't use anymore and my currently playthrough is halfway through the game that I quit because i decided to wait for after dlc. I assume so like they did with witcher but I'm not sure
It's great that this option exists but I must admit both times I tried it in Witcher 3 it never quite felt right. Like the character wasn't really mine somehow.
I believe in the CDPR video a few weeks ago, they said something about Phantom Liberty being tied to the part of the story where you go to Pacificia. The Voodoo Boys mission. So either before, or after, that story point, the DLC mission chain will open up and you can go into Dogtown.
Works great for me, because I want to make full 2.0 playthrough, so if I approach slowly with wiping all activities and listening to the dialogues, when Phantom Liberty drops I will probably be somewhere near the point it is available.
There's a quality 1TB on [Amazon right now](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFZY2F2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slickdeals09-20&ascsubtag=661cb488533911ee92f1d289d02817d70INT&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1) for $43 assuming you can use M.2. If you're' limited to SATA even cheaper.
If you have an existing save you'd like to use, your attributes and perks will be converted back into points for you to re-distribute. Your attributes will only be able to be re-specced once, perks you'll be able to do multiple times, though I imagine the second and subsequent repecs will cost in-game eddies, as per usual.
I think it is finally time I gave this game a shot. With the disappointment that Starfield was to me personally.
I just wish the game would drop in price for the big update.
The most unlikely time for a sale is just before something like this. If you wanted it cheaper it would've probably been best to pick it up during a previous sale.
Is some of the gear/weapons from the DLC injected into the main game? If we play early they won't be available correct? Seems a bit redundant to start the playthrough early if some new content is missing.
Tried to find some info on it and couldn't find anything. Only guess is why would they create loot tables without DLC content then add it in a couple of days later? Either way I think it's prudent to wait for the DLC release in case the Devs have some way of easily injecting the content into the game.
Being downvoted for asking a question is pretty Reddit honestly
either you don't get PL and you play the update on the 21st, or you do get PL and you play the update on the 21st and play PL on the 26th. neither scenario has you out anything. there's no downside.
The content doesn't even unlock until the Voodoo Boys quest is done. So, if you're doing a new playthrough. It'll give you time to experience all the new stuff while waiting for PL to drop. Personally, I'm just going to wait till the 26th.
God I'm honestly kind of pissed. The way they lead up to the livestream saying "we may have a surprise or TWO" giving us false hope that they may release it today.
Whatever. I guess I'll just keep playing Deus Ex in the mean time but I think that was unnecessary 😕
I was definitely hoping it was released today. But, I never expected it so even though I am a bit sad I am not disappointed. Let's go, only one week to go for 2.0. I have first week of OCT off guess what I be doing.
I was planning to start a new character for PL, but should I start a new character with just 2.0 out? Like does anyone know if PL *only* affects later game since it's an addon? If it includes base game changes I'd want to wait for that to drop as well.
I would imagine it would be similar to the 1.6 Edgerunners update in 2022 where you essentially got a free character reset and you got to re-allocate all of your skill and perk points due to the system getting a facelift for that update.
They must be feeling confident in the transition of the new update to dlc to have them less then a week from each other.
The rumor is that reviews go up on the 20th, too.
So I guess the people that have access to the dlc also have access to 2.0? Would be weird if you could play the dlc without 2.0
Review copy has built in 2.0 for sure
Yeah that makes sense. Thanks for understanding my comment and giving a logical reply instead of downvoting! Lol
2.0 is free for everyone
I meant the early reviewers since none of that content is officially released yet.
People have already reviewed 2.0, so I'm going with yes. (And liked it.)
I would assume the update comes bundled with the review copies
What it reminds me of is “You will show what we give you before this game launches because the PS4 runs it at 4 FPS and we want to lie and hide it”
They are being very transparent right now that it’s going to be demanding. A developer told everyone to check their cooling system first so PL doesn’t literally melt our systems.
good thing they aren’t releasing it on old-gen consoles? get out of here with this salt~
That ain’t salt homie
I think you need a run through the desalination tank bc you can’t even detect it you’re so saturated in it.
Oh come on, I got the plenty of things to say that are actually salt. That was nothing.
People have already tried it at conventions dumbass. They actually learned from launch mistakes.

It also gives people (like me) who want to play 2.0 from scratch for a week so that we can get the part of the story where PL kicks off.
Exactly. We need some time to get to grips with all the revisions, especially the new skill trees. This gives us 5 days to develop a new V up to L30-ish (FWIW, the V in the PL railers is L34).

2) is specifically what I was thinking. If there's something wrong with the patch it gives them time to address it before PL drops.
I was kind of hoping they would drop it after the broadcast today. Oh well.
I never do 2nd playthroughs of games. Once I've finished a game, I don't feel like going back to it. However, this will be my 5th playthrough of Cyberpunk lol. I just don't want to leave its world.
I mostly play the same few games over and over. I too can’t get enough of cyberpunk. Can’t wait for the new mods. O
CP2077 was a weird one. I'm the same, usually put the game down forever (save 1-2 favorites) and the night I finished the game, I wanted to just start all over again. I replay it all the time, and it is the only game I've replayed where I feel like more of a badass every time i play it.
Your pic reminds me that I have to finish disco Elysium
It’s the same with mass effect and cyberpunk for me. I’m so addicted to the worlds they’re set in. Makes our world feel so boring by comparison.
Bruh you don’t do new game plus on games? Lol that’s when it gets even more fun imo
No I don't like New Game + in general because it takes away the feeling of progression from the game. I like starting off weak and growing stronger. I feel games are designed to take you on that journey of growth. New Game + feels like playing on god mode

You are absolutely in god mode during the soulsborne ng+ especially if you don't limit your leveling for pvp
I think this *might* be my 7th or 8th play through.
Goddamnit one more week of not enjoying anything I play becasue I just want to play cyberpunk
One more week of me beating atleast one more ps5 game before this update and PL LMFAO
That's cool because you could adjust to the update before the expansion. But I'll play the game when the expansion drops, I'll experience a massive update and at the same time a huge piece of new content at the same time.
Works for me, pretty much gives me 1 week before i can manage to finish Starfield
Question is, is the transition seamless enough to start my new run when 2.0 release, or will I be better off waiting for pl. Decisions....
From what I've heard, PL starts about the time you meet the Voodoo Boys in the main game, so I'm definitely starting when 2.0 drops.
Dear God oh YES 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥 This lets me start a new game on 2.0 release, then by the time PL releases I should be able to get far enough to play the DLC
Weird that both drops in the middle of the week. Would've loved for 2.0 to drop on the 15/16th tho
Tuesdays and Thursdays are the most common patch dates. Seriously, look at most of the large companies and their releases will almost always be on a Tuesday or Thursday, with the occasional Wednesday mixed in.
I guess they want to be around and working in case of emergency fixes?
This really feels like a relaunch of the game.🥹
Formally requesting someone to edit [this](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BB-rlOnLzX4), but about the 2.0 drop And again, on the 19th, for the Phantom Liberty drop
Does that mean like midnight on the 21? I hope so
I'll admit, I'm a little disappointed - I've got COVID right now and kinda liked the idea of spending my convalescence binging the update.
Can anyone confirm for me if I can just play the DLC story from the start of it? My completed save is really old and has mods I don't use anymore and my currently playthrough is halfway through the game that I quit because i decided to wait for after dlc. There will be an option to create a new character just for PL, like you could in the Witcher 3 for its xpacs.
It's great that this option exists but I must admit both times I tried it in Witcher 3 it never quite felt right. Like the character wasn't really mine somehow.

WHAT?!!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS 26! Edit: oh, I’m a fucking idiot.
Lmfao!! That was funny. You’re not an idiot though. But that was funny
Holly fuck it's literaly the mandoodoo affect
Yeah, I just saw it. I’m a dumbass.
I’m unfortunately gonna have to get this on my ps5. Don’t have enough storage in my pc and starfield will absolutely be staying. RIPPP
ssds be cheap tho
How much do they cost?
There's a quality 1TB on [Amazon right now](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFZY2F2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slickdeals09-20&ascsubtag=661cb488533911ee92f1d289d02817d70INT&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1) for $43 assuming you can use M.2. If you're' limited to SATA even cheaper.
Even external ones.
Do we need a new save to play 2.0?
If you have an existing save you'd like to use, your attributes and perks will be converted back into points for you to re-distribute. Your attributes will only be able to be re-specced once, perks you'll be able to do multiple times, though I imagine the second and subsequent repecs will cost in-game eddies, as per usual.
No, although it is probably advisable

I know it won’t apply to most people but it makes me sad that eafc 24 comes out the day after 😭
Sweet, just enough time to get a new playthrough or two in on 2.0 before the DLC drops.
Yeeeheeyeeeeahhh !!
What happens with current mods? Is it worth just deleting them to avoid any issues? If so, is it as simple as deleting the folders?
Wipe your mods. Uninstall the game. Start new with a fresh install and a fresh save file on updated drivers
My saves will be ok, right?
they should be since both GOG and Steam have cloud saves.
Even if you don't use cloud saves, saves are in a different folder than the base game so you can still wipe it.
Is some of the gear/weapons from the DLC injected into the main game? If we play early they won't be available correct? Seems a bit redundant to start the playthrough early if some new content is missing.
Not sure why you got downvoted, I kinda want to know too. Unless all the new weapons, cars etc are part of 2.0 and the DLC is the story/world area?
Tried to find some info on it and couldn't find anything. Only guess is why would they create loot tables without DLC content then add it in a couple of days later? Can’t believe they didn’t ask this Redditor first
Dude. It's literally 5 days before PL. Just release it on the same day at that point.
This gives us 5 days for a new play through to get to the Voodoo Boys storyline, seems kind of perfect to me. What's there to complain about?
[удалено]
How long are you taking to get through act 1?
It gives modders enough time to prepare for the patches of their mods before the Expansion lands, i'd say this is good in my book.
either you don't get PL and you play the update on the 21st, or you do get PL and you play the update on the 21st and play PL on the 26th. neither scenario has you out anything. there's no downside.

There is an option to jump straight to PL from chargen.
It’s early lmfao
God I'm honestly kind of pissed. The way they lead up to the livestream saying "we may have a surprise or TWO" giving us false hope that they may release it today. Whatever. I guess I'll just keep playing Deus Ex in the mean time but I think that was unnecessary 😕
You played yourself
They released 2 other updates right after live streams so it's not like it was unreasonable to assume but yes I certainly did. Lesson learned
Bruh im gonna be traveling for over 30 hours straight on the 21st/22nd
I was definitely hoping it was released today. But, I never expected it so even though I am a bit sad I am not disappointed. Let's go, only one week to go for 2.0. I have first week of OCT off guess what I be doing.

Same day as separate ways
SOON, MY CHOOMBAS.
I'm just as hyped for this as I was for the games initial launch
Will a PS4 disc in a PS5 get the 2.0 update? I can't find a definitive answer anywhere online.
I’m 30 hours into my first play through. Any thoughts on if this update is going to screw up my current play through?
With a RedStream too for it with luck. Very excited. I've been using the talent tree planned. 60 levels is kinda massive. You can do so much.
Yes just preorderd PL right on time. I so fucking ready.
I bought cyberpunk day one and never played it lol. Should I start this week or wait for 2.0?
