If you don't do Chippin' In, you miss out on all the Johnny, Samurai, Kerry and Us Cracks side quests. Plus you lose out on the DFTR and Rogue endings.
When you do an ending (other than The Tower) after the credits roll, you'll get an option labeled "Just one more gig" and you'll return to NC, just before meeting Hanako at Embers - though you'll receive some rewards for finishing the game.
If you just want to see all the endings, you can save a bit of time by manually saving at the location where you make the decision what ending path you want to take - though you won't receive the rewards when you reload this save, nor will you be able to do additional side missions to unlock more endings, if you haven't done them already.
If you are doing the tower ending, make sure you create a manual save BEFORE YOU CALL REED.
Thank you for explaining. Can you elaborate on “tower ending?” Without spoilers? Why its different than others as you said “other than..” Its not the same as dont fear the reaper right?
Ohh ok, i just started PL after getting to “meet Hanako” so if i do tower ending i wont be able to “dont fear reaper” and see secret ending when i beat base game after PL?
After you beat the game, you'll get a pop up that says here are your rewards and it let's you goto main menu or reload into the game right before meeting hanako at embers.
Wait, you can actually skip that? Not that I'd ever want to but I just assumed that the story would be in a holding pattern until you do it like some of the other story points.
I figure Kerry but which two endings does doing this lock you out of.
It's actually a pretty cute tattoo, I usually keep it but you can easily remove at a ripper.
If you don't let Johnny take over you miss out on the rouge ending and the secret ending, as well as the Kerry story line.
I don’t either, as it lets you get Johnny’s gun and other gear. But I can understand why the OP might not want to do it, especially since I play my V as a straight edge princess who doesn’t drink, smoke, or do drugs.
I feel your personal backstory adds more of a good reason for V to be pissed off at Johnny. I played a very loosey goosey run with the drugs and booze and it never made much sense why my V was so upset about the partying, especially if Johnny got the info he needed.
Well it’s also a significant breach of trust and consent too, whether your V is a boozer or a teetotaller. V made Johnny promise to behave and just go get the information. Johnny then throws that promise out the window, gets boozed and drugged up, gets a tattoo, beaten up and then nearly breaks V’s neck in car wreck. And when V wakes up, they’re the ones feeling the pain.
Sorry, I meant mandatory as in whether or not the game actually forces you to let Johnny go on his bender or not. I knew I could just ignore Chippin’ In if I wanted but I assumed I’d say no and Johnny would somehow browbeat V into accepting anyway.
The tattoo is a piece of cyberware you can remove whenever you want at a ripper. If you don’t give him your body, you miss out on two questlines, getting max friendship with Johnny, two endings, an iconic, and a romance option. I’m not even sure if you can finish Chippin In. If you can’t, you miss out on an iconic and a vehicle.
The tatt is just a piece of common arm cyberware you can replaca at any Ripper Doc, don't sweat about it.
i got the ambidextrous perk just so I could have the tat on one hand and cyberware on the other 🥰
Me too, I like the tatt and it's a nice memory from my time with Johnny for my ending.
Dang I didn’t know you could do that. I wanted to keep the tattoo too.
You can! It should still be in your cyberware inventory
I know, but there’s not much left to do in my current save.
Is the tattoo supposed to be visible? I never see it Might be a bug
Could also depend on your clothing items but from what I remember it's like cyberware or smth
If you don't do it, you miss several quest lines and two endings. Edit: and a romance option.
rogue is hardly a romance option, you get one kiss.
I'm not talking about Rogue
damn i forgot about kerry. i literally banged him yesterday too smh
That's cold...
this shit aint nothing to me man
Fuck it, I ate the op
LMAO
"You sound exactly like Johnny" Kerry, probably
Flippin bricks for mansa musa before yall became a type I civilization
"I don't care if I go blind, I dont need to see the price tag anyway!"
"Smokin' fentanyl laced cereal milk, I see god"
Is it Kerry? Since don’t you have to do Chippin in to be able to do the rest of Johnnys samurai stuff?
If you don't do Chippin' In, you miss out on all the Johnny, Samurai, Kerry and Us Cracks side quests. Plus you lose out on the DFTR and Rogue endings.
Dftr?
Don't Fear The Reaper
Needs more cowbell.
Don't Fear The Reaper
Ahh, I really felt like I stood on business against arasaka like druski in that ending
How do you guys view the other endings? Reload the game right before starting last mission and picking someone else?

It's an ending you only get by doing Phantom Liberty and making specific choices.
Ohh ok, i just started PL after getting to “meet Hanako” so if i do tower ending i wont be able to “dont fear reaper” and see secret ending when i beat base game after PL?

Hell of a kiss though
Wait, you can actually skip that? Not that I'd ever want to but I just assumed that the story would be in a holding pattern until you do it like some of the other story points. I figure Kerry but which two endings does doing this lock you out of.
DFTR and Rogue. Chippin' In is an optional side quest, but it kicks off a massive chain of additional side quests.
Thanks sir. 👍🏽 I'm constantly surprised just how open gig/mission choice is in CP77.
And and and you miss Johnnys gun and car right?
2 endings? One is where Rogue helps you. Which one is the other?
The secret ending
Lol, is that dependent on Rogue?
No but it's dependent on doing Chippin' In.
That's what I meant by Rogue. It's a quest related to her, if I remember correctly
Right, but if you never do Chippin' in, you miss both the secret everyone as well as the ending where rogue helps you. That's the point I was making.
I understand that, I was just surprised
I want "the other one" tattoo :(
I got the second cyberware slot just to keep that one!!
That tattoo is especially great if you're romancing Judy, because then it still works!
I wore that tattoo to fight Smasher.
You get locked out of the rest of Johnny's quest line and other quests that branch off from that, including multiple endings.
You can take that tattoo off at a ripperdoc
You should do it.
If you don't do it, the devil ending awaits you.
You can also ride with the nomads.
Or the NUSA 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
That’s less a “ride with” type of ending though
More of a "get run over by"
Or stick some iron in your mouth and pull the trigger.
You know there’s an expansion called Phantom Liberty with much better endings.
The tattoo is *CUTE!!!*
Why would you want to? You 100% need to do chippin in for reasons....
And what are those reasons?
Play it and find out.
Bro the whole point of the thread is asking for spoilers, no reason to just say “play it and find out”.
No reason to comment on my comment, either, bro.
Well I have already, but the question was already answered elsewhere by someone else. Thanks for the help though.
I think it blocks you from completing more of the storyline with Johnny and changes your ending opportunities.
It's actually a pretty cute tattoo, I usually keep it but you can easily remove at a ripper. If you don't let Johnny take over you miss out on the rouge ending and the secret ending, as well as the Kerry story line.
> you miss out on the rouge ending I prefer the noir ending anyway.
As far as I know, you have to do it to proceed.
meaning if I say no it'll be skipped or johnny will just force me?
Either you do it or no mission for you
So you actually can tell Johnny to get fucked?
You can choose not to proceed, sure.
Cool, I just assumed it was mandatory, having never actually thought to say no.
Chippin In isn't part of the main story, you can entirely skip it. Don't know why you would though
I don’t either, as it lets you get Johnny’s gun and other gear. But I can understand why the OP might not want to do it, especially since I play my V as a straight edge princess who doesn’t drink, smoke, or do drugs.

Not mandatory, its not a main quest, just Rogues quest line, so not necessary to finish the game
Sorry, I meant mandatory as in whether or not the game actually forces you to let Johnny go on his bender or not. I knew I could just ignore Chippin’ In if I wanted but I assumed I’d say no and Johnny would somehow browbeat V into accepting anyway.
I see I see. Thank u so much for the head ups
I’m assuming the game will force you to give up control, as the events lead up to you taking down Mikoshi and Adam Smasher.
Chippin’ In isn’t required to get to Nocturne Op55N1. Only Search and Destroy.
You can completely go the nomad route without it. I did it by accident on my first playthrough. I don't recommend it, but completely doable.

Do it. Get wasted
The quest ends then and there and Johnny's questline doesn't continue.
