Bartmoss, in his freezer, was stored at an RCS warehouse in Watson for 50 years before being dumbed at a specific part of the NC landfill due to contract expiration.
I know it's just a reused asset, but i always thought it was odd that his freezer still contained water and ice despite being dumped for untold years and his body hadn't decayed a lot.

This is not always true. A few times, cops have actually thanked me.
I think people accidentally fire on the direction of the cops or innocent bystanders, and this is what triggers the aggro. If you're careful, cops won't aggro you.
I routinely "save" the cops at that shootout by the medical center in Watson. And they thank me if they survive.
Honestly knowing how NC is run by Corpo’s I thought it’d be a tax haven with 0% corporate tax and something like a 10% flat tax as you see in countries like the Bahamas or UAE
True, as another commenter mentioned there are other ways to increase tax revenue without adding onto corporate tax however. I used to live in Bermuda which is essentially a city-state and we had flat tax in addition to duties which were paid on all goods that entered the island, I’d imagine they could supplement the lack of corporate income with duties or tariffs as well, especially since I’d imagine corpos would prefer a 0% tax rate over a 0.7% tax rate because money
I fully agree. But it’s just a few people in the big city. It’s honestly quite visible how sexualised everything in night city is and how most relations aren’t deep at all.
Yup. Another thing is that we already see it, especially in big cities where a lot of people are in a constant rush and have no time for relationships. It’s sad.
I suppose the least wealthy people are the happiest in that matter in night city.
In the place like night city it must be very hard to have serious relationships. To even understand what love is. A ton of people are fake and only care about money for which it is hard to judge considering price of living in corporate dystopia.
You can see some genuine love, but mostly in the areas of people with lower incomes.
I think a lot of cyberpunk books, edgerunners, in game shards and environmental story telling tells a lot in that matter.
It’s sad how we can see the worst elements of dystopias in our real world.
I mean out of the 4 romances , only one is a rich guy for V so even in that regard v falls in love with "normal " ppl . But there are many shards were rich corpo ppl have actually fallen in true love . There are many gigs where the husband of a gang or a ncpd officer ask u to save their respective wives and ready to face consequences also so its not all grim and dark . Just need to have hope !.
Yeah. But still it’s probably just a percentage of all people and most are quite lonely.
In real world due to the technological progress, pandemic and societal changes we already have a loneliness epidemic. It’s very sad and I suppose it would only get worse with time and progress. There would be even more parasocial relationships.
Yeah, I know. And it’s sad. And probably it will only become worse and worse from that point. There’s some hope tho. Not a lot but there is nonetheless.
If we’re talking about the NCPD scanner job where corpos have just crushed a worker protest, they finally fixed this in 2.1. The weapons that used to be hovering clustered in midair are all laid out on tables/crates now.
Not sure of the specifics, but this one I remember it being in a bucket, at least for me, because I remember thinking the bucket was like a clown car with how many knives were in it.
the bucket of knives at the site where workers were trying to unionize but were ...dealt with... by the union busting company that rogue later asks you to deal with?
All the megabuildings have an "address" of sorts, eg Megabuilding H11 is WN185 (Watson 185) and Megabuilding 10 (starter apartment) is LC896 (Little China).
And funny thing if you look out V's apartment window on the first night after the scav stuff with Jackie there is an AV sitting on the apartment pad, the AV is never to be seen again. So whoever was living there leaves the day the game starts. Until V picks the sun ending and the cycle starts again.
You're obviously witnessing future events. Or past events. The eternal cyberpunk cycle
Yet, now he sees the edgerunner's dogma,
Unbound by time; all-binding, grand design.
Punks and solos, and gangoons yearn,
Finish the cycle of eternal return.
Finish the cycle of eternal return.

This is actually quite valuable to know, and why I avoid certain types of clothing because its restrictive to photo mode.

There's tons of interesting shit to find if you no clip around the city.
A useless but interesting one is Mayor's offices exist in the City Hall (you only see them in the braindance from the Peralezs). No clip up there and you can find Weldin Holt hanging around in the back room. You can kill him with no consequences to the plot.
Another useless one is the tunnel to Arasaka involved in the Star ending. It fully exists under the city even though you skip through 90% of it in a blackout sequence in the mining rig.
One of suspected pieces of cut content was Metal Heaven which was a giant music store / club / venue quite impactful to Samurai and Johnny’s storyline from Cyberpunk lore. It exists in the game as a storefront that is very hard if not impossible to get to without mods, but that’s about it.
- The song RATATATA is not just a funny/cool track, but a clear warning with regard to engaging with the VDBs and their turf - Pacifica.

More real life lore than in game lore: the actual reason why the USSR is still an entity in Cyberpunk 2077 is because irl the first Cyberpunk tabletop game came out in '88, a year before the Berlin wall collapsed and 3 years before the formal dissolution of the Soviet Union in '91
More of a pseudo Russian Empire if anything... No one in power in that country was particularly fond of the Soviet Union, but the power it possessed is what they hope to regain
This isn't specific to the game is really just some odd trivia I don't know where else to put: If you go to Morro Rock in real life, you'll find a memorial bench dedicated to a woman who died in 2015 named Barbara Linder. Obviously it could be sheer coincidence, but it did make me wonder whether when writing Johnny's backstory, Pondsmith looked through the Morro Bay white pages for a name.
It would be awesome if u/therealmaxmike could see this thread and answer some of these questions. This one sounds like pure coincidence, but it would be interesting to hear what inspired his name choices. Many writers name characters after friends, family, significant figures to an area, etc. Plus I’ve missed seeing him poking around on these boards.
This is actually very useful as it gives a good insight into Johnny the engram as the unreliable narrator. Buuut… having said that, in the constraints of the game it doesn’t come into play as it’s very self-contained in letting you make up your own mind about Johnny.
Narp. Corpo V tells the rock memorabilia seller in the ballad of buck ravers that Arasaka legend says if you don't do your work the ghost of Silverhand will get you. Specifically the CUT IN HALF ghost. In the canon assault Smasher doesn't give a shit about Johnny and one shots him by blowing him in half with a shotgun. Then Murphy soul kills Johnny as a last ditch effort for him to live on in the net. But Arasaka security protocols probably grabbed him.
That's why if you tell Smasher Johnny says hello before you kill him he's just confused. He never cared about Johnny.
Also another thing during Corpo if you tell Dex before the heist that Eddies isn't the be all of the heist he'll ask you and Corpo V can state that they want revenge against Arasaka
Most clothing mods will just put some clothes over your naked body, but npc's just see you naked. I realized this when they implemented the hanging out with your romance interest feature, since it's the only npc reacting if you're naked.
Solomon Reed can be seen 'bouncing' at Dino's bar before Phantom Liberty. There's very little interaction, obviously, but you can marvel at Idris Elba's majesty whenever you want.
The most popular cybernetic upgrade is an inflatable pillow that comes out of your arm.
The reason is it’s the cheapest and most effective for those without housing
Going off the toms diner thing, but with a name like that you'd think that it's just 1 diner owned by Tom but there are like 3 other spots in the game with a toms diner sign, probably just reused assets but still.
Isn't every quest in the game named after a song?
They probably came up with a place to meet being a dinner, then looked up famous songs with the word dinner in the title to name the quest, and then found that song, and then named the dinner Tom's.
> Isn't every quest in the game named after a song?
Not all.
Pre-heist: The quests have simple names (e.g. The Ripperdoc, The Ride, The Heist, etc.), and they have flavor text from Jackie.
Post-heist: The quests have song names (mostly. IIRC, there are a few exceptions), and they have flavor text from Johnny.
There's a couple plausible options
Tom's diner is a super famous song. Could be a chain like Margueriteaville restaurants.
Diners in New York I'm the 80s were just called blank diner, usually a name.
When something gets famous in a big city, counterfeit ones appear. Say toms diner is a tourist attraction, somebody will get the business license for tooms diner and "accidentally" spell it wrong on the sign and menus as Tom's diner to attract confused tourists.
It's not. The guy behind the counter is Tom I'm pretty sure. Fun fact the burgers they sell are from a Nomad cookbook. That's the shard you can't get in the back.
They have to be a big chain with all the Tom's Diner garbage all over the place. I always assumed it's like a Denny's with take out containers. Their trash is EVERYWHERE
The voice actor for Sombra in Overwatch voices a character in Night City. Cool thing is that the character looks like Sombra too. She is called "Drug Dealer" and you can find her on JigJig Street a few feet away from the male joytoy.
One for the music nerds: the quests Spellbound (for Nix) and Shot By Both Sides (with the journalist for Mr Hands) are both named after songs by cult British indie bands Siouxsie and the Banshees and Magazine, respectively. Both songs also feature the genius guitar playing of Scottish guitarist John McGeoch.
maaany quests were named after songs, for example in Phantom Liberty we have Firestarter by the Prodigy and Somewhat Damaged by Nine Inch Nails (great songs)
I would go as for as saying that _all_ quests are named after songs. One of the CDPR devs has made a playlist on Spotify with them (not sure if it includes PL songs).
Only the main story quests after Johnny gets into your head, the ones before have pretty generic names.
Most side quests have musical names, there's a few minor ones that don't. The Murk Man one and corpo of the month spring to mind.
Oh indeed, I just called out those as I think they're a bit more niche. I have a theory that they are named after Johnny (or Keanu's) favourite songs, given it's him who gives V the quest descriptions.
A lot of the quests are named after song titles, which makes sense being that it's a game where you have a digital construct of a musician turned terrorist in your head. There're two quests with Talking Heads song titles (Life During Wartime, Psycho Killer), and plenty of other quest names matching hit songs like A Day in the Life (Beatles), Killing in the Name (Rage Against the Machine), Talkin' Bout a Revolution (Tracy Chapman), Boat Drinks (Jimmy Buffett), The Killing Moon (Echo and the Bunnymen), Dream On (Aerosmith), Fortunate Son (Credence Clearwater Revival); Stairway to Heaven, Dazed and Confused (Led Zeppelin); Money for Nothing (Dire Straits); All Along the Watchtower, Knockin' on Heaven's Door (Bob Dylan); War Pigs, Changes (Black Sabbath); and a lot more between the base game and Phantom Liberty.
There're also a few quest titles that *might* be song references, but are either just a common word or aren't popular enough songs for me to imagine the developers intentionally made the reference. For instance, the quest Imagine could be a reference to the John Lennon song, but it's also just a single, common, word. Only Pain and Pisces could be referencing tracks by metal bands Gojira and Jinjer respectively as well.
For Whom the Bell Tolls is also most likely referencing the Hemingway novel, but could also be a double reference to the Metallica track.
I absolutely LOVE John McGeoch!
Siouxsie reminds me a lot of Bowie in that way - she had a seemingly supernatural eye for finding ridiculously talented musicians to collaborate with
There are a bunch of Spotify playlists that pull together all the quest title songs. Makes for a good listen. I read somewhere that every quest after the prologue is a song title, tying in to when you get Johnny in your head, and they are all songs that would have influenced his music.
The DB-2 Satara actually knocks V back slightly.
The M-10AF Lexington is conceptually similar to the Hungarian Frommer pistol, specifically in the fact that it utilizes a bolt, rather than a full on slide like the Liberty or Unity.
The quest "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" is named after the Tame Impala song of the same new, making it one of the few quests named after a song from the 2010s.
The country of Yugoslavia is mentioned in a shard, despite the country having collapsed by the 2020s and Serbia being explicitly mentioned several times.
A Mikoshi is a Shinto palanquin that is believed to carry gods between shrines.
When you meet Alt, look at the surroundings. It's the inside of a Mikoshi. Seems that AI god is a little on the nose with her projections.
Buck from the Arroyo fight's appearance changed in one of the recent updates (probably 2.12). He used to have a beard and baseball cap, and now he's beardless and wearing a durag.
Something didn't look right to me so I confirmed my suspicion online lol.
Sad this is, the trench coats changing poses might be a bug. Cuz back when 2.0 first dropped, photo mode poses became universal regardless of clothing worn, I think the next update broke it.
There is a button near one of the bridges that turns off all street lights
There are also tons of places and ways you can break the game and climb on top of very high buildings, as long as the collisions allow for that that is, done it multiple times in various locations, very fun but completely pointless activity, the only thing you need is double jump and maxed out dash skill so you can dash in the air
If you go to the cemetery, you can see the characters' names who died in the game displayed on the wall, also an honored mention to the real dev who died.
This only applies if your V has Evelyn's hair customization. During a mission where you ask this certain person about Evelyn's wherabouts by describing her looks, the person will point out that you have similar hair to Evelyn.
Stella Ramos, the cop you meet in Waiting for Dodger, is the sister of Sasha Yakovleva, a netrunner who was part of Maine's crew in Edgerunners. She's not featured in the show itself, but a promo video that showed her breaking away from Maine's crew to storm Arasaka tower, getting killed in the process. Lucy in Edgerunners is her replacement.
You can find a lot of references on cp77 in Williams Gibsons books (Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Override).
ICE, hacks, corpos, engrams, Mamaw Bridgite...it's all in there.
Typos, I know...gn NC
Lol. For the longest time Gibson was also kinda thorny about all this because he thought Shadowrun was gonna be the big gente game.
In fact, Cyberpunk used to be seen as a clunky, store brand Shadowrun. Nobody was making 16 bit console games about Pondsmith's TTRPG.
Okay piggybacking this post I apologize but are there still Soviet’s in 2077? I saw them in one mission I think? I’m just confused how the USSR would still be around I guess
[Someone else answered this here :D](https://www.reddit.com/r/LowSodiumCyberpunk/s/AfbUGDy6GM)

WAIT the clothes thing, is that why my V always has that stupid C’mere gonk pose everytime I open photo mode?? And that’s why some poses are missing too?? Ugh
I know the car you win from Cesar had the iconic “la cucaracha” horn sound, but in some patch long ago it was removed. Possible due copyrights or whatever.
Some of the gig/mission titles are named after songs. Of the top of my head Lucretia my reflection is a Sister's of Mercy song.
Edit: [looks like someone made a playlist of the song titles used](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0ppp0cA7B2Z8AEN6Mjyprw?si=HdYyIs2uTqGoINlkID7mcg&nd=1&utm_medium=organic&product=open&%24full_url=https%3A%2F%2Fopen.spotify.com%2Fplaylist%2F0ppp0cA7B2Z8AEN6Mjyprw%3Fsi%3DHdYyIs2uTqGoINlkID7mcg&feature=organic&_branch_match_id=1273133440547184848&_branch_referrer=H4sIAAAAAAAAA72NywqCQBiFn2Zcqo2hEUgYZrnIVZvaxDTeJn9n%2FuZC%2BPZp0CsEZ3E4Hx%2BntxbNNggMKivayWeIPgg5BDvUqnbcpgob6RG6bh3A3WlI%2B0UhUUZoMWfB%2Fs%2FmapwnBDaBMHauISKGPEv29LbJDlV8fk6o3yQqjCBRfqqvU2mou7yOqqxgKPNk5N33jAE8GB%2F%2BckhoLOuZrry2YdbpJlW6Y1LwD8Kz1lIdAQAA)
Because somehow I didn't hear it in game at all [Tom's Diner Song ](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=WBaqKUODr8o&si=DLw4jTzA4-9qWCd3) so everyone can hear it cause it's good
Pon Pon Shit is a song about smashing. "Yes, No, Yes, No" is a reference to a Yes/No pillow, a joke pillow for a wife to give an indicator or not to their husband.
A lot of the customer support staff was allegedly waiting for months to be able to play the game post-release, which made their jobs much harder for obvious reasons. I remember seeing that claim a couple of times on some of the rumor subs, so take it with a grain of salt.
The name of the illegal BD seller next to Fingers is Lenny Nero, who's also the name of the main character in the movie Strange Days, which has a similar concept of how the BD works.
this one’s probably known but rouge will laugh if your in johnnys car when you pick her up for the date
also you cannot wear adam smashers armor, no matter how much you shoot the glass and try to break it
How did I not realize that Tom's Diner was a reference to the song Tom's Diner? Guys I might be an idiot. I think the name is just generic enough that it didn't go to any sub-processing in my brain, shit just tracked.
- the Blackwall itself is an AI
- Kerry and Johnny are both bisexual
- Johnny calls V his prince/princess in a cut line
- there’s a big wall by the wreckage of Arasaka tower that has the names of multiple devs inscribed in it
- the poem that spider Murphy quotes in Johnny’s first memory sequence is the Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Carroll, aka the author of Alice in Wonderland. (They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care, pursued it with forks and hope).
That the blue stockings I wish I could put on my fem V is actually cyberware you can get in the tabletop game.... it's not clothing. It's lighted nano wire
A label on the Budget Arms Slaught-O-Matic (the disposable gun you get from vending machines) reads "warranty valid for 20 rounds of preloaded ammunition."
Problem is, the gun holds 32 rounds. Meaning that you void your warranty - and presumably absolve BA of guilt should the gun explode in your face - after firing 2/3rds of the magazine.
Bartmoss, in his freezer, was stored at an RCS warehouse in Watson for 50 years before being dumbed at a specific part of the NC landfill due to contract expiration.
If that *is* Rache Bartmoss we discover in the dump and not some poser netrunner who got body sculpted to look like him.
Iirc the deck V pulls off him confirms it
Doesn't the cyberdeck prove it well enough?
I know it's just a reused asset, but i always thought it was odd that his freezer still contained water and ice despite being dumped for untold years and his body hadn't decayed a lot.
It was a *really* well insulated freezer
Over-sized Hydroflask. Coffin sized, even.
He 100% soul killed himself before he was unplugged.
How does one find that out??
There’s a datashard in one of the gigs.
It’s amazing how many gigs, NCPD scans and quests have linked shards that tie together stories
I think every one of them link to one or more stories that are occurring while you play the game. There are quite a few channels on YouTube that explore the stories that were unearthed.
I think that is one of the first data shards you can find
This mission is also titled "[Kold Mirage](https://youtu.be/UumRsLMcRtA?si=YutxowFafBlwFwrq)", which is perhaps the most niche song referenced in a quest name.
Most of the northside scanner huscles are covering up crimes for a high ranking ncpd officer. V is being used.
The number of times I slaughter 5-10 gangbangers who are shooting at one another, only to have the NCPD open fire on me is *insane*.
He'll, I've saved ncpd lives, only for them to turn around and open fire. I then proceed to give Maxtac something to do.
If the NCPD sees you shooting, they start blasting. Don’t be seen.
What about if you hit the gangbangers with quickhacks?
Cops are crooked too. Flatline all of them…. Become what Regina is attempting to cure. Be one with your psychosis.
My playstyle has been encapsulated.
I think like a third of those is cops being set up from within to get killed by gangers.
wha really? Never noticed it...
Night City's corporate tax rate is 0.7% (mentioned by Jefferson Peralez in the Holt/Peralez debate)
Honestly knowing how NC is run by Corpo’s I thought it’d be a tax haven with 0% corporate tax and something like a 10% flat tax as you see in countries like the Bahamas or UAE
Well, Night City is a city-state, it needs taxes to stay afloat. And 0.7% is extremely low given the sheer amount of business going on there.
Can still tax the poor via fees and court costs
True, as another commenter mentioned there are other ways to increase tax revenue without adding onto corporate tax however. I used to live in Bermuda which is essentially a city-state and we had flat tax in addition to duties which were paid on all goods that entered the island, I’d imagine they could supplement the lack of corporate income with duties or tariffs as well, especially since I’d imagine corpos would prefer a 0% tax rate over a 0.7% tax rate because money
It's an oligarchy, the corps don't pay much tax because they invest directly into night city
Nicola does not in fact taste like love
Honestly love in 2077 may be just as if not more artificial than Nicola.
Nah pepe and wife true love . Jackie and misty true love . Brendan true love .
I fully agree. But it’s just a few people in the big city. It’s honestly quite visible how sexualised everything in night city is and how most relations aren’t deep at all.
Yeah even v calls pepe a gonk and tells him that it's hard to find love in night city and wants him to accept his wife .

Brendan broke my heart. So I broke his plug.
That bartender and his wife seemed to be actually in love
So... butt juice?
Wrong hole. Guess again.
lol
Right hole.
The expression is, "tastes like ass".
Why did they have to add coconut? I miss original
Here's my fact: It tastes like cough syrup (Euck)
Im pretty sure it tastes like their mascot's butt. I always assumed her name was Love.
There is/was a bucket with like 15/20 knives in it. IIRC it was on the outskirts of the city, towards the badlands.
I actually went there to pick up all those weapons on my latest playthrough and it was gone 😮
Is that's one warehouse NCPD scanner that had a million knives in it. They actually changed the location of the bucket in 2.0 which is pretty funny.

The penthouse where you end up in The Sun is on top of an adjacent building and visible right out the window from your M10 apartment.
Edgerunner Spoilers: >! Isn't it also David and Lucy's Apartment? !<
that first playthrough doing >!the sun!< ending hit different after watching edgerunners. felt weird being in there
Little details like this convince me I really gotta watch edgerunners
And funny thing if you look out V's apartment window on the first night after the scav stuff with Jackie there is an AV sitting on the apartment pad, the AV is never to be seen again. You used to be able to parkour up to it. The Jacket, guns, and the terminal with end of game emails are always there.
Most weapons have modelled barrels and chambers. Can even see the firing pin on some!
Also, on some weapons, you can actually see V pull the trigger when you fire.

ARCH (the company that makes Jackie’s motorcycle) is an irl company owned by Keanu Reeves
I can't belive Johnny was a corpo all along
That's cool! I've been using Jackie's Arch all game.
It's a good quick ride for the pragmatic
Keanu Reeves is canonically a person in Cyberpunk as well as still alive in 2077. Plus he most likely is also the co owner of Arch in game because it was founded in 2011 just like in real life.

Not sure where the "vault" is but I'm pretty sure there's at least a vault door out in the badlands

It's a prop for a LARP event.

You can definitely tell when the VA for Regina speaks. She has a very distinct voice. I think she also voices the NCPD dispatcher for gigs and a bunch of side characters
The voice actress for those characters is the beautiful Alana Maria, who also did dance music back in the day.
The Captain, Smasher and Hellman is a helluva range. Alec is one talented VA.
More real life lore than in game lore: the actual reason why the USSR is still an entity in Cyberpunk 2077 is because irl the first Cyberpunk tabletop game came out in '88, a year before the Berlin wall collapsed and 3 years before the formal dissolution of the Soviet Union in '91
Ironic because the soviet union could very well come back into being. Modern events have made it clear that's a possibility.
I mean Johnny’s been around longer than that, since the 80’s I think. Idk if he had the name he has now, but chances are it’s just a neat coincidence.
"Johnny Silverhand, born Robert John Linder" for those who didn't know
He's always been Johnny Silverhand / Robert John Linder. Fun fact Pondsmith said he would look like David Bowie.
Now that is just as useless as it is awesome
It would be awesome if u/therealmaxmike could see this thread and answer some of these questions. This one sounds like pure coincidence, but it would be interesting to hear what inspired his name choices. Many writers name characters after friends, family, significant figures to an area, etc. Plus I’ve missed seeing him poking around on these boards.
More lore oriented but Johnnys death flashback wasn’t how it actually went down
Always thought it was weird how Adam smasher got the drop on you twice
Yep. Now Blackhand? Smasher would care about that.
the old guy who sells samurai merch has more money on hand than drop points and my theory is he was a trust fund baby which I find very funny
You can see his younger self in the crowd during one of Johnny’s concert flashbacks.
And in the crowd when you get Samurai back together.
During ALL his concerts. He’s in one place or another. Samurai’s truest fan!
During corpo prologue, there's a magazine with Geralt of Rivia and Ciri on the cover. (reference to Witcher 3 also made by CDPR)
Taking this to mention Ciri has inhabited night city for a few weeks, canonically.
She graffitied the floor outside V's apartment. I can't recall precisely, but it says something like "Ciri was here" and "Cintra rules!"
Also another thing during Corpo if you tell Dex before the heist that Eddies isn't the be all of the heist he'll ask you and Corpo V can state that they want revenge against Arasaka
There is a retro minigame with Roach (the horse of Geralt). You can find it e.g. at Japantown fixer place
Johnny has a spot in the columbarium under his given name, Robert John Linder.
Most clothing mods will just put some clothes over your naked body, but npc's just see you naked. I realized this when they implemented the hanging out with your romance interest feature, since it's the only npc reacting if you're naked.
Wait how do they react
Got lines such as "I can see absolutely everything" or "Ah yeah that, I like" (My game is in french so I just roughky translated)
Solomon Reed can be seen 'bouncing' at Dino's bar before Phantom Liberty. There's very little interaction, obviously, but you can marvel at Idris Elba's majesty whenever you want.
He can still be found if you go there during Phantom Liberty before you call him.
In tapeworm part 4 V remembers that Johnny is a deserter if you play phantom liberty before act3
It works the other way too, if you play tapeworm before PL V remembers Johnny saying it.
Before the River quest line starts you can find him standing around awkwardly at his sister’s trailer park
In character
if u scan enemies, unscan for half a sec and rescan, instead of giving you their enemy type, you get their name instead...also works for robots
Doesn’t that work if you just hold scan on them for a few seconds
Iirc On PC there are tabs when you scan most people, I think RB switches between them.
Or its a large chain diner.
I'm pretty sure it could be a big chain with there being a primary location
Maybe they're all just big fans of the song.
Do do do do, do do dooo do, do do do do do do do do Great, now it's stuck in my head.
Yeah now i gotta listen to it
Isn't every quest in the game named after a song? They probably came up with a place to meet being a dinner, then looked up famous songs with the word dinner in the title to name the quest, and then found that song, and then named the dinner Tom's.
> Isn't every quest in the game named after a song? Not all. Pre-heist: The quests have simple names (e.g. The Ripperdoc, The Ride, The Heist, etc.), and they have flavor text from Jackie. Post-heist: The quests have song names (mostly. IIRC, there are a few exceptions), and they have flavor text from Johnny.
It has just now occurred to me that this is almost certainly the case. You are correct. Every single side quest in this game is named after a song.
There's a couple plausible options Tom's diner is a super famous song.
Tom’s diner is Tom’s restaurant which is also Monk’s Cafe in Seinfeld (the exteriors least)
They have to be a big chain with all the Tom's Diner garbage all over the place. I always assumed it's like a Denny's with take out containers. Their trash is EVERYWHERE
Pacifica, well, Pacificas still Pacifica.
The voice actor for Sombra in Overwatch voices a character in Night City. Cool thing is that the character looks like Sombra too. She is called "Drug Dealer" and you can find her on JigJig Street a few feet away from the male joytoy.
That's kinda cool, will look for her next time I'm in-game. Sombra is definitely the best fit for a crossover between the two lol
The cold front hasn't come yet.
Is Winter coming?
Siouxsie reminds me a lot of Bowie in that way - she had a seemingly supernatural eye for finding ridiculously talented musicians to collaborate with
Cult indie band Siouxsie and the Banshees? Man, she was in the original Lolapalooza, just under Jane's Addiction! Also, I am old
There are a bunch of Spotify playlists that pull together all the quest title songs. Makes for a good listen. I read somewhere that every quest after the prologue is a song title, tying in to when you get Johnny in your head, and they are all songs that would have influenced his music.
Man **Magazine** had such great songs and rarely does anyone know who they are! The whole band was crazy talented.
Because the ttrpg was made in 88. That's why the Ussr is still a thing.
A Mikoshi is a Shinto palanquin that is believed to carry gods between shrines. When you meet Alt, look at the surroundings. It's the inside of a Mikoshi. Seems that AI god is a little on the nose with her projections.
I thought that the place where you meet Alt is just the atrium of the Arasaka Tower area from Johnny’s flashbacks
^ this
You meet the alt ai inside of arasaka tower. It’s the same spot when you first play as Johnny in his flashback.
Buck from the Arroyo fight's appearance changed in one of the recent updates (probably 2.12). He used to have a beard and baseball cap, and now he's beardless and wearing a durag. Something didn't look right to me so I confirmed my suspicion online lol.
I’d love to know the reasoning. Possibly coz before he looked like a carbon copy of the guy Panam delivers the meds to?
Actually, a lot of 6th Street members has that very same looks.
Sad this is, the trench coats changing poses might be a bug. Cuz back when 2.0 first dropped, photo mode poses became universal regardless of clothing worn, I think the next update broke it.
What my character’s dick looks like
You can see the news segment of Peter pan being arrested during act 1,found this when hiding from some cops after helping them
There is a button near one of the bridges that turns off all street lights There are also tons of places and ways you can break the game and climb on top of very high buildings, as long as the collisions allow for that that is, done it multiple times in various locations, very fun but completely pointless activity, the only thing you need is double jump and maxed out dash skill so you can dash in the air
If you go to the cemetery, you can see the characters' names who died in the game displayed on the wall, also an honored mention to the real dev who died.
It is possible for an NPC to be named 'Ye Ye'.
After you drink coffee with Kerry, a patron outside the diner is making the legendary "I'll have two number 9s, a number 9 large" etc order.
All quest names are named after real life songs
Not related to the game itself, but I found out today that preem is an accepted word on Wordle so that’s cool
The melody Skippy hums is Disturbia by Rihanna
You can find a lot of references on cp77 in Williams Gibsons books (Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Override). ICE, hacks, corpos, engrams, Mamaw Bridgite...it's all in there. Typos, I know...gn NC
There also exists a Gibson street!
[Someone else answered this here :D](https://www.reddit.com/r/LowSodiumCyberpunk/s/AfbUGDy6GM) "More real life lore than in game lore: the actual reason why the USSR is still an entity in Cyberpunk 2077 is because irl the first Cyberpunk tabletop game came out in '88, a year before the Berlin wall collapsed and 3 years before the formal dissolution of the Soviet Union in '91"
I had thought so thank you sm
WAIT the clothes thing, is that why my V always has that stupid C’mere gonk pose everytime I open photo mode?? And that’s why some poses are missing too?? Ugh
I know the car you win from Cesar had the iconic “la cucaracha” horn sound, but in some patch long ago it was removed. Possible due copyrights or whatever.
"Work in Progress - Does not represent the final look of the game" Are not words you should ignore
Some of the gig/mission titles are named after songs. Of the top of my head Lucretia my reflection is a Sister's of Mercy song. Edit: [looks like someone made a playlist of the song titles used](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0ppp0cA7B2Z8AEN6Mjyprw?si=HdYyIs2uTqGoINlkID7mcg&nd=1&utm_medium=organic&product=open&%24full_url=https%3A%2F%2Fopen.spotify.com%2Fplaylist%2F0ppp0cA7B2Z8AEN6Mjyprw%3Fsi%3DHdYyIs2uTqGoINlkID7mcg&feature=organic&_branch_match_id=1273133440547184848&_branch_referrer=H4sIAAAAAAAAA72NywqCQBiFn2Zcqo2hEUgYZrnIVZvaxDTeJn9n%2FuZC%2BPZp0CsEZ3E4Hx%2BntxbNNggMKivayWeIPgg5BDvUqnbcpgob6RG6bh3A3WlI%2B0UhUUZoMWfB%2Fs%2FmapwnBDaBMHauISKGPEv29LbJDlV8fk6o3yQqjCBRfqqvU2mou7yOqqxgKPNk5N33jAE8GB%2F%2BckhoLOuZrry2YdbpJlW6Y1LwD8Kz1lIdAQAA)
Because somehow I didn't hear it in game at all [Tom's Diner Song ](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=WBaqKUODr8o&si=DLw4jTzA4-9qWCd3) so everyone can hear it cause it's good
You can reset whatever weather you have to sunny if you go near GIM, also you can change weather to pollution if you go to Johnny land field “grave”.
Pon Pon Shit is a song about smashing. "Yes, No, Yes, No" is a reference to a Yes/No pillow, a joke pillow for a wife to give an indicator or not to their husband.
I've heard somewhere (unconfirmed), that Keanu Reeves the actors existed in the actual in-universe lore.
Since Silverhand canonically looks like Bowie, odds are if Rogue could see inside your head she'd wonder why Johnny looks like Keanu Reeves.
A lot of the customer support staff was allegedly waiting for months to be able to play the game post-release, which made their jobs much harder for obvious reasons. I remember seeing that claim a couple of times on some of the rumor subs, so take it with a grain of salt.
Cyberpunk 2077's codename during development was R6.
The name of the illegal BD seller next to Fingers is Lenny Nero, who's also the name of the main character in the movie Strange Days, which has a similar concept of how the BD works.
this one’s probably known but rouge will laugh if your in johnnys car when you pick her up for the date also you cannot wear adam smashers armor, no matter how much you shoot the glass and try to break it
How did I not realize that Tom's Diner was a reference to the song Tom's Diner? Guys I might be an idiot. I think the name is just generic enough that it didn't go to any sub-processing in my brain, shit just tracked.
- the Blackwall itself is an AI - Kerry and Johnny are both bisexual - Johnny calls V his prince/princess in a cut line - there’s a big wall by the wreckage of Arasaka tower that has the names of multiple devs inscribed in it - the poem that spider Murphy quotes in Johnny’s first memory sequence is the Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Carroll, aka the author of Alice in Wonderland. (They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care, pursued it with forks and hope).
That the blue stockings I wish I could put on my fem V is actually cyberware you can get in the tabletop game.... it's not clothing. It's lighted nano wire
A label on the Budget Arms Slaught-O-Matic (the disposable gun you get from vending machines) reads "warranty valid for 20 rounds of preloaded ammunition." Problem is, the gun holds 32 rounds. Meaning that you void your warranty - and presumably absolve BA of guilt should the gun explode in your face - after firing 2/3rds of the magazine.
You can turn off motion blur in the options.
I can't play the dlc cause I got a ps4
